As WM 6.5 seems to have transparent bars on the top and on the bottom...
Do you think this would be possible with TouchFlo as well? Is it a feature that only 6.5 supports? Also, would this involve fiddling with Manilla or WM itself?

not sure if it's exactly what you you're after but you can check out the no curtains cab on post 6 of here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489531
this removes the top curtains within touchflo but not the top bars - you might want to try Wisbar Advance for something like that though... do a search for Lakeridge software/wisbar advance.
to all,
there are many threads floating around that all the well known apps to hide bottom bar and task (top) bar are not working anymore under WM6.5. i am talking about dcinobar (v1, v2), nuenobar (v1.3, v2.0) and vjtoggletoday (inkl. todayiialpha).
i want to start this thread to gather all relevant information here to overcome this problem.
@mods: please do merge other similiar threads in here
to make a start: i found the author of dcinobar
there are two versions of dcinobar and the author is also providing source code on his website.
maybe someone is more capable than me to use this source code as a hint to create a new app for this problem?
good old dcinobar,
has nothing to do with 6.5 ****, tho.
it is like asking about remake of nuenobar..or vjtoggletoday.

you seem to be knowledgeable.
is it not possible at all to hide bottom bar in wm6.5?
i think it may be possible - for wm6.5 roms without titanium plugin at all - but NOT DONE, yet.
titanium changes handling of softkeybar(new, and maybe old manila is working same way), it may be not possible, surely it won't be easy...notice it is dynamic, not static as default 6.1 softkeybar..
sad to say - xdadev bacame strange place - you may find every possible software ripped from commercial products, ton of UGLY skins, but there is no developer to MAKE such thing, as just softkeybar remover...
just ms/htc software promo site...wow factor tragedy, imo.
btw, i am using hs++ too, i do not need titaniums, manillas, 15 mb+ mem loss, etc.
http://i26.tinypic.com/2hgwzs1.jpg
yeah. hs++ is great. it is the only ui which is easily highly customizable but does not consume much power and cpu.
i use it more iphone stylish like (see attached)
but back to the topic.
at least it is good news that it could be done, even with some limitations (like deactivated titanium or manila)
if only i could understand this. if you run dotfred's taskmanager and browse through the different windows one can see that the softbar window is cascaded, i.e. a window within a window within a window where the bottom bar is displayed.
it should be possible to hide or close this window (and keep it closed) and increase the size of the desktop screen
isn't anybody out here, who takes this as a challenge?

yup, messy thing, imo..add sip-handler to that(wad shows that problem clearly)...
btw, i can recommend task manager 3.1, 3.5 for such insight operations.
app is perfect to be used in roms to determine whole lots of useful info + regeditor/regimporter.

lucky you
does it only hide the bottom bar for you or could you also use the space for your today screen?

yeah. this is how it used to work on my diamond wm6.1 - but not on wm6.5.
guess i have to wait for another wm6.5 build
You can hide the bar on WM 6.5 fine as long as you disable the Titanium plugin. And since there is no reason to hide the bar if you are running Titanium, I fail to see the issue here.

correct - you fail to see the issue here.
1. i am using hs++
2. many users have had recently problems in hiding bars with tools like dcinobar, nuenobar and vjtoggle (see my first post)
3. so do I (see my first post)

but if there IS reason, wise guy?
I'm saying those bar hiding apps work fine under WM 6.5. I thought that was what you were trying to fix. If you let me know the reason I might be able to help. Saying you need help hiding the bottom bar in 6.5 when there is an app that works, well...

that sounds more reasonable now.
could you specify which bars you are able to hide?
manila task and bottom bar
titanium task and bottom bar
today screen task and bottom bar

As has been said already. Under WM 6.5 you can hide the today bottom and top bars as long as you are not using titanium or manilla. Those apps (dcinobar and vjs app) were designed to hide the bars but not to work on today screen plugins. If you want to modify a today plugin, you will have to hex edit the plugin directly and/or create a new program that modifies today plugins.
[nvmd..sry for bothering you guys]

not sure if we are talking about the same. why would i hexedit a plugin in order to hide the today screen bottom bar.
hiding bottom (and task) bar is independent of the plugin as it is controlled by shell32.exe.
but you seem to know what you are talking about. let's give it a try. i am using homescreen ++ (see signature). what do i have to hexedit?
thanks in advance
I use Nuenobar 2.0 and it work fine. no problem!
wm 6.5 build 23004.5.3.0

are you able to use the space for your today plugins?
Hi, on Wm6.5 roms for the touch HD you can press and hold on the start menu items an move them arround but in the HD2 you can only send them to top. Thats is a really ugly to reorder lots of icons.
I think there must be a key in the registry to set this behaviour but cant find it.
Someone knows it?
deleted...
I use JWMD Icon Changer V1.9 beta for Windows Mobile 6.5 to change the order of the start menu items... Works well.
Hope this helps...
This is not in the registry. Its in a SYS file named gwes ithink. Only way to fix it is by flashing to cooked ROM or update from HTC.

As far as I know this works only in later revisions of the os build. Maybe your Touch HD has a newer one.

Does JWMD work for anyone else on their HD2?
On my old phone both JWMD Icon Changer and Showaco reSTART worked great in arranging the icons. On the HD2 however, neither seems to work.
JWMD arranges most of the icons on my HD2, but it doesn't rearrange them all (like the settings icon, it appears randomly in the list) and the ones that it does rearrange don't stay where they are supposed to and move after a little while.
What has HTC done to the Start menu to make it different? Because rearranging icons worked great on my old phone with these same exact programs.

I think that behaviour can be cause htc icons are created every time the phone reboots. There is a cab somewhere here (i think is in the tips thread) that disable the recreation of icons so after that you will have no problem. I hope that works

Thanks for the input, but I already solved the issue (by doing a hard reset, heh).
JWMD works great now though, and with some spiffy icons makes my HD2 almost perfect - the disorganized icons were really bugging me.
I see a thread where people post their desktop screens I'm just wondering if there was a place on this site where there were slider icon sets? I've seen alot of cool ones but apparently alot of them come with cooked roms. I'm running stock so I would just like to change the appearance, not the whole system.
Thanks!

You'll have to make sure you get an icon slider set that matches your version of Manila, but there's a ton of topics in this area about them, usually just titled something like "New Sense 2.1 slider icon set" etc.
Here's a couple I found just within the 1st 2 pages of this section:
2.1 slider icons
2.5 slider icons

Sense/Manila/TouchFLO3d (TF3D) are all different names for the different versions of the user interface (UI) that HTC put on the phones to "cover up" the winmo OS underneath. The version you have is what determines the basic visual layout, as well as what files/methods are necessary to make changes or customizations.
The bad news: The version you have (TF3D 2.1, same as me), is an earlier version that doesn't have support for the prettier, bigger slider icons you may see around here frequently. You can usually spot those screen images easily because they'll have bigger, more "cartoon-like" icons in the slider, and there's often weather somewhere right on the home page, under the clock. As you'll notice, your interface doesn't have either, which is how it's easy to spot our version compared to the others.
The good news: Our version is one of the few where icon/slider sets are fairly easy to build, using the popular app HDWalls, available here. With that, just about any image you could find/want can be converted into a slider that will work for you. HDWalls has a bit of a learning curve though, but not impossible. If you have some icons in particular you'd like made into a slider, let me know and I should be able to do it quickly and easily...as long as I can find/extract/use source images for each icon (i.e. one big screenshot of all of them won't help, I'll need individual images). I even have some cabs to make the slider transparent underneath the icons.
brent372 has also assembled some TF3D 2.1 slider icon sets on his page, you can check them out HERE. If you want to go looking for more on your own, you need to search for ones that specifically say they're compatible with TF3D 2.1...."sense 2.1" sliders won't work, just FYI.
Hey guys,
I just've seen two types of "official" taskbars for WM6.5. 1st is the on that comes with our HD2 (looks almost identical to WM6.1-taskbar) and a 2nd one that looks bit more pretty - e.g. the edges of "H", "G", "E" are rounded and look smoother imo.
Does anybody know if there is a cab out that gives me this "B-version" of the official taskbar? I remember there was one for SE X1 by gtrab, is there anything for HD2 as well? You can find the taskbar e.g. within g.lewarne's CleanEX Uniq - ROM.
Big THX for any hints!!
try googling for the hd2 anastacia theme
I know the Anastasia stuff, but that taskbar is the Anastasia-taskbar and not the one I'm searching for.
