Greetings all!!
At last I have my new TD2 but I would like to know how I can share my mobile broadband connection with my htc-phone when I'm home I'm using windows 7... Ive tried to google for a solution, set up an ad-hoc connection, but internet wont be shared. Even when using TP-cable. is there an easy way to share my laptops connection with my HTC??

I was trying to connect a HTC TyTn II (Kaiser) to Internet over a bluetooth connection with a HTC Diamond, but no success...
First i tryed to connect using a DUN (Dial-up Network), but I don't know why, this dosn't work.
Second, i tryed to connect using the Internet Connection Share (ICS) on Diamond, but i don't found a way to join in a Bluetooh PAN with my Kaiser.
I've made a lot of searchs in this forum and the Google, but nothing that i found solves my problem.
In one of links/articles/wikis it tell me to use a Bluetooth Manager, but i don't have it.
Anyone has any idea to solve this problem?

Try WmWifirouter. It essentially creates a P2P network over wifi. Was there a specific reason to use bluetooth?Im sure both devices have Wifi.

WMWiFiRouter does the job.

Don't forget to setup the connection as ad-hoc.
You won't be able to share the net in managed mode.
It is possible to share internet over bluetooth.

I have had a look through the forums, (I may just not be searching for the right thing.) so please excuse me if this has already been answered somewhere.
I have just bought the Hero everything is standard at the moment as I am not sure yet what I am doing with the Android OS as I currently have a Rhodium WinMo phone.
On the Rhodium you are able to connect the USB cable to the PC and use you PC's current DSL connection to access the internet from the phone and not the phones mobile internet connection, I have not been able to achieve this from the Hero, it keeps telling me I need to enable the mobile internet connection to access the internet.
Does the Hero have the same functionality as the WinMo devices?

afaik this is not possible so far. easiest way to get landline internet on the hero is to use wifi.
Well, if you have Windows 7 in your PC, you can use Wireless Hosted Network and use PC's internet connection by connecting Hero to Win7 via WiFi. Manual instructions I used. Alternatively you can try Connectify or Virtual Router, but they are just a pretty interface for the same thing and I couldn't get them to work.

I was thinking about way how to make sharing your internet connection over wifi from laptop possible? I have my laptop connected through LAN and want to share internet connection to hd2. I know, this is not exactly related to HD2, but I think I am not the only one dealing with this issue I did find how-to on the internet, but didnt work at all...

You got to install wifi router software in your laptop and then through wifi to connect your hd
If you have Win7 you can use Connectify wich is a free routersoftware so you can set up your own accesspoint.
Win7 and Vista are more or less the same right? i guess you should visit http://www.connectify.me/ and check if your Vista is compatibel.

i use wired netting for internet to my laptop, and want to share internet via wifi to sgs2. but sgs2 can't find wifi network which i created. btw os:Win XP. i've found some software to share internet via wifi from laptop but they're generally for win7 or other os systems, is here anybody who share internet via wifi from laptop? and does sgs2 find that network?

I dont use it but when you create a connection an and it runs it have to be found. Try maybe a wlan stick instead of the build in chip on your notebook,without cryption.

Hello everyone,
I am looking out for a solution, searched on web but nothings works ! Hope i would get a solution here.....
Problem : i have a gene 100 ( P4300i ) from HTC with wm6 os. I use wifi connection for my laptop.
I want to connect my phone to internet via usb.i tried many solutions like connecting & synchronizing using activesync but nothing works.
I cannot find any connection in network connections under settings>connections>internet sharing . If i try to add up a new connection, it asks me for a dailup no .
Please help

why not just connect to home router.. it's much slower for the phone to connect to a laptop, which is connected to router anyways...
