You have already stated the reason for your problem. If your 4gb has the 3 partitions, Some of what you need to run your rom has already been moved to the ext partition on your 4gb card. Copy the rom to your 8gb and use it to flash your phone.

Hey guys!
I have a question about flashing with SD-Card:
Do I have to use 1GB/2GB Cards which are none "SDHC" cards?
Or does our Blackstone support High Capacitiy in Bootloader Mode?

I flashed mine using the 8GB card that came with the phone. I would of thought as long as the phone can read the memory card you'll be able to flash from it.
Ok, if you did it with the 8GB card then it should work. Thanks

That's wrong, as far as I know. My old device was a Hermes which I could NOT flash with SDHC cards. But it was also able to read SDHC cards like my 4GB SDHC card.
That's why I asked
i tried with 2 different 8gb cards one of which came with the phone and both didnt work ,
but my 2gb and 16gb both work

I can confirm this too - and I nearly always flash my HTC's from the card.
But you need make sure that card is first formatted to the correct FAT (cant remember which now, its in the Wiki), and obviously that the phone can see the card. Then all should work fine!

Hi
I have a problem with my new SanDisk 8GB memory. Some times when I am loocking for a file in the memory, it appears as empty. Re booting the phone everything returns to normal, but it is a problem because the alarms that have their sounds in the sd don´t work in this condition.
This did not happened with the 2gb memory that came with the Tattoo.
The memory was formated with the phone but still remains the problem.
Can some one help me?

Thanks for you reply.
The Tattoo is 100% original, buyed unlocked in USA. The microSDHC is a Sandisk 8Gb buyed in USA too.
I was looking for somebody with a similar problem and the way to fix it. Or a good idea to do it.
The original SD 2Gb wooked fine but it is too small.
I don´t know if the trouble is the SD or the phone. The SD may be the guilty

One thing more. Last night tired of losing the SD and his music I gave format FAT32 (not quick) to the memory with a PC. Lamentably the problem was continuing I didn´t install data from the Android Market (WIFI Connected).
Then I decided change the SD as the next step.
I charged the battery of the Tattoo during the nigth. Phone was ON with the SD indicating capacity 0. But surprisingly this morning the SD was OK!!.
It seems that something has to see the condition of the battery, I will follow this point.
I have/had the same SDcard. I had the same problems after about one month. A few days later the SDcard was undetectable for my Tattoo and my computer. In the moment my SDcard is on the way back to SanDisk for replacement. The problem with this card is that it is only class 1. I think that could cause this strange behavior.

hi
u know what i also got a sandisc 8gb and it is hanging wen i use a cooked rom with apps2sd but its ok with the stok rom as i want to use cooked rom with apps2sd went back to my 4GB and everything is fine may be this is not built for 8gb i mean models in india which also dont have 3G
any solutions
Hi. Well, 3 days ago I changed the 8GB SanDisk memory to a new 4Gb Kingston memory.
Now all work fine. I don´t know if the problem is general for 8GB SanDisk memories or only the one that I have, but the Tattoo is not guilty!!!!!
The 8gb card that came with my Desire HD works perfectly as you expect. But i wanted to upgrade so i bought a class 4 Kingston 16gb microsd card.
So i unmount the card, take it out, then put the new one in... and when i go to storage management it has unknown for everything. When i take the card out the OS says "Card removed, insert new one", i put the old one in and it works perfectly.
I then reformatted with windows and made it 16kb fat32 and the exact same thing happens.
The card works perfectly on the computer and is not an ebay fake.
Any suggestions?
Edit- i just loaded up CWM and it easily saw my sd card. So i dont know whats going on there. I partitioned it using CWM and now am installing a different rom and hopefully the problem will be fixed without me even knowing what the issue was.
Still any suggestions will be appreciated.

Most of the steps you took, make sense to me, but I am not an expert on this.
One question, can you let all of us know what the result was, after you flashed a different ROM? Might help someone with similar issues.
Hey guys,
I have been running Android on my HD2 for a few months now using the stock 16gb class 2 and had no real issues. I purchased a Patriot 8gb class 4 to replace the stock because I need it for another device.
I have tried formating it 32kb and 64kb, default allocation size and nothing has worked. After transfering the android files and running haret a few minutes later I get stuck on the boot screen. I tried a fresh install of various android builds and keep having the same problem.
Can someone tell me the correct way to prep this card for my HD2 to run android? Maybe a utility or something.
Link to the card's product page: http://www.patriotmem.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=4&catid=16&prodgroupid=78&id=730&type=15
Thanks
Give SD Formatter a try in quick format mode.
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/
It formats FAT32 with 32kb sectors, and has worked well here with multiple class and size MircoSDHC cards. That said, 16GB Sandisk cards are cheap now. Maybe consider picking up another one and ditching the Patriot, if SD Formatter does not fix it up.
Best to all,
R

I'm sorry for you... That card is a junk! I also have that one and after many hours of frustrations end up buying sandisk 8gb class 4 for $15usd.
I have done all suggested ways to prep that card. If ever you will be able to boot, expect for minutes of lags.
I would recommend what has been said before, just re-format the SD Card.
My HTC HD2 works with my Transcend 4 GB microSD card, but it won't android won't boot up with my 8 GB Verbatim microSD card. Do I need to format it or something? Thanks!
Are you sure you have the correct set up ? (Files are copied to their destinations)
Try to format it to FAT32, and try again.
I`have just formated it to FAT32 and still the same problem. What files are you talking about?
PS: Sorry to bother you with "stupid" questions, I am pretty noob in this
I have read that Verbatim SDCards can cause problems in the build; booting or running, SanDisk is your best bet, but you may still be able to get it running,
Im not a dev; just brought SanDisk as a result of this,

It depends on many factors. Which Android Rom do you want flash, does this need Ext 3/4 Partition on the SD Card ? Do you have flashed the right partition size ? Read the installation instructions of Rom you wants to flash, there you mostly find all information.
Are you talking about NAND or SD? If NAND, make sure the ext partition is set up correctly, as this is where a lot of the apps are stored. If SD, then I would assume you know how to install an SD build so it could be a problem with the SD card being incompatible as alex.odell.2011 said.
I've had similar problems sometimes with my SD card; my HD2 wouldn't boot unless I took the card out then put it back in once it was booted. The only thing that I thought might cause it is something CWR related on the SD card, since I had used it in my Hero and Droid 1 as well to flash ROMs to them. It was a class 4 16 GB Sandisk, if that helps at all.
