Does anyone know how to UNINSTALL the myfaves UI from the T-Mobile TP2. Not the simple 'hide' option from the myfaves settings. I am talking about completely removing it from the OS, I don't like the fact that the faves that are setup cannot be removed from the contact list at all, you can try to delete them, but they just reappear. I have my personal contact list setup, but I don't like the format of the myfaves, so i am looking to remove it without having to change my rateplan, etc....thanks to whomever can solve this for me...
Since they are in the ROM, you can't delete the myfaves executables, but you can completely disable it so that it doesn't meddle with your contacts, or replace your contacts' photos with the myfaves icon when you call them or they call you.
To "uninstall" myfaves from the T-Mobile TP2, delete the following Registry keys:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Services\MyFaves]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\My5]
Click to collapse
After deleting those keys, reset you phone. After that, you will be able to delete the myfaves contacts from your contacts and they won't come back.
In case you are new to editing the registry on winMo and don't know how to delete the key, get phm registry editor ,
If you just want to remove the myfavs from the home screen so you can get at the TF3d home go into settings and myfavs and just disable it.
you will get the home screen and the nice roladex look alike contact screen also.
your myfavs favs that are listed will still work when you call them also : )

Hi,
on a WM Smartphone you can hide the SIM contacts by going to Start/Settings/Phone/Call Options and unticking the "Show SIM contacts" box.
Is there a simular setting on WM5 pocketPC?
Or maybe a registry that handles that?
nobody knows?
Yes, and here's the cab file from the T-Mob ext rom to do it for you.
Hope it helps, don't know if it needs to be run after a hard reset or if it will work anytime for this.
Joe
Thanks a lot. It works!
And just for the curious: the important option in the .cab is one registry key:
Under HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone add a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0. No need to soft reset the contacts will be hidden when you next open the contacts window.
BTW:
this registry setting does not affect the "Smart Dialing" list direct. But if you first start the contacts application before starting the phone app for the first time after a soft reset, the sim contacts will also be hidden in the smart dialing list.
I hope this helps everyone who keeps contacts on his sim card but doesnot wont to see dublicates after importing contacts.
Which cab file is it in the t-mobile extended rom?

Hi everyone. My very first post!
Let me start by saying a big thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site, if it wernt for this site i would still be stuck using WM5 and have no idea of my device potential.
I am currently running WM6
Anyone know how to change the app path to the Contacts button in the dialer?
I know how to change the soft key on the today screen to my own contacts application but then when you are in the actual dialer the left Soft Key also says Contacts but still loads the crap outlook one. And also in the menu of the dialer there is another Contacts item that i would like to change.
So yeah basicly would like to know if its at all possible to change every Contacts button to point to my own contacts application.
I installed HTC EndKey but I realy dont like that it replaced my Contacts key on the today Screen. I tried removing it but it wont go away.
I found it's location in the registry and I tried switching it back to Contacts manually but I cant find the name of the contacts Program. I tried contacts.exe and that doesnt do anything.
Any ideas on how I can get rid of end key and get the contacts button back?
you could look for a program call softkey and see if it will let you change it from there
Hi to all, I want to have a cleaner Phone Dialer list in my Rhodium...
I've already removed SIM Contacts, but i want to remove Device Contacts too...
Also Call History is useless due the use of Call Registry...
Maybe is possible to have an empy Phone Dialer list with only the space to compose the telephone number (same skin obviously)?
Tnx very much!

If you want to disable call history, I guess you can try to do that with advanced config 3.3.
Just set the max call history on 0
Hi,
I am working on a custom phone dialer app. Here is what we expect:
When opening the contacts or the call history and clicking one call phone number, the default WM6 phone app would not be invoked and popped up, instead our phone app would be shown. And the selected phone number would be caught;
1). When clicking a number in Contacts list or CallLog, how do I stop the default behavior---starting the default WM6 phone dialer app--- and launch the custom phone dialer app we provide?
2). Since the number clicked is not a hard key, how can I catch the event and pass it to the custom phone app?
Really appreciate any helps,
Mike J.
you can't override windows and replace files in it, the best you can hope for (ask HTC and Samsung) is to either skin or create with windows. In your case you're trying to create a dialer that will basically hide most functions already build into windows (contacts, missed calls, etc) I think what you want to do is build the entire program yourself from scratch...link it how you want then tag it with green button so that instead of the default dialer opening your program (dialer with your own customizable setup) will open. I believe that is the easiest solution. Out of curiousity, what exactly are the current dialers lacking that makes you want to create your own dialer? Eitherwaygood luck with your project
