I Second That Statement...
NOTES:
1.) You MUST have a 21000 OR HIGHER build on your device in order for this menu extension to work. DO NOT attempt to install this on any older builds because it won't work.
2.) jlavoie tested this on his device with beta WM6.5 build 21159 and reports that this does not work with for him. This MAY, or MAY NOT work with WM6.5. If you install it and it works, AWESOME!! If not, sorry maybe next time.

I Had To Edit The "HTCMenus.bmp" File As There Was Problems Displaying Correctly On QVGA Devices... I Had To Get Rid Of The Top And Bottom Of The Menu Showing Nothing But Garbage...
In The Beginning, The End Result Was A Square Menu In The Middle Still Maintaining The Scrolling Functionality...
Because I Like How Much Faster And Smoother This Is Than Finger Menu...
I Will Be Continuing To Modify This File To Get To The Full Desired Effect For QVGA Devices...
This Is Just A Quick Fix For Now... 90%

Brilliant work. Very nice. I do have one question: I didn't have an HTCMenus.bmp file in my Windows folder or a folder called Folder. Should I be worried? I am using the exact same ROM (NFS's) as you. Thanks.
Edit: It's working fine, but there are vertical black and white lines above and below when I use it in some apps. Perhaps this is the 0.02% you mentioned? (lol) If you have not seen this, let me know and I will add a screenshot.

Nahh Bro, Thats What Happens In The Beginning... You Still Gotta Copy Over My Modified .bmp, Then It Should Look Exactly Like My Screenshots... Do This Right Now:
1.) Download The .Zip
2.) Extract The "HTCMenus.bmp" File
3.) Copy It To Your Windows Folder Overwriting What Is Currently There (Using Total Commander/Reco Ect....)
4.) Soft Reset

Been using for over a day on my Alltel Vogue with NFSFANs 1.02 Alltel ROM and havent had a single problem!

Just to let you know, this doesn't work on my HTC Elf running Onyx 4.3 ROM (WM v21028).
I've tried both versions, but still get boring old menus.

Hmm doesn't seem to work... followed the QVGA instructions on the main page but no menu has changed. The ROM version of ONYX is also high enough... Any idea?

I have a Hermes with a build 21109 WM6.1 Pro. After installing the new 0.5 cab numerous times nothing happens. Any suggestions?

INSTALLATION

You have two options:
Run EXE file on you Windows Mobile without installation. It do not put icon to start menu.
Install the CAB file from your device like other program. It put icon to start menu.

Windows Mobile 6.5

If you use WM6.5 you can change right soft key for myAction (tested on WM6.5 emulator). If you run myAction first time you will be ask about it.
If you prefere do it later you need modify two value: SK2URL and SK2TEXT:

SK2URL=\pathToMyAction\myAction.exe
SK2TEXT=myAction
You must restart WM after you change it.

CUSTOMIZE

When you start myAction program you can customize it by tap on white plus sign. It change color, will be red, and then you can tap on any icon.
After it you can choice program, icon and attribute:

You can customize it by using registry. All you can find there:

You can edit it and sometimes it is fastest method.

If you like icons like on first in first threat you can use example files.
After unpack zip file you must import reg file and put icons to \program files\myAction\pic folder. Of course you can edit reg file or icons to customize myAction.

Man, this is beautiful, really nice. A few questions:
1) Do you believe it would/should work on CDMA devices?
2) I know you say 'Recommended' install to device memory, but I have always installed all my programs to Internal Storage (even things like PSshutXP, fredsTaskManager, DiamondTweak -all are programs that are connected to the functioning of the device-) and have always had success (I hate to use precious device storage space). So, any chance it would work if installed to Internal Storage? Have you tried?
3) Can a user change the order of icons on myAction?
4) Is it possible to have the Start menu/icon as one of the icons?
5) A Readme?

1. I do not know what do you mean because I do not know CDMA
2. It is only recommended. It should word from Internal Storage but I think wifi on/off do not word in this version if you put to IS.
3. No in this version. In next version will be possibe change all icons (look and order) and programs in myAction. As I wrote in first post I wrote this programme for myself usage and functions are sufficient for me. It try run: \Program Files\myAction2\myAction.exe
If you can run it you should manually create myAction2 folder and copy myAction.exe to this. It is rather feature function.

maybe in next 1-2 weeks will be next version

you to have the actual program u click on. for example if u choose send sms it'll work, click klaxon and u dont have it already, it wont work

If you need to run klaxon you must put it \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.exe first. See 2nd post in this thread.

if you need that shortcut run someting you must have application in special folders - look post nr 2.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
1) START HERE IF YOU JUST BOUGHT THE PHONE:
- Download and install usb drivers for your phone: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Ap...&SC=EMEA_27
- Flash a recent bin (I suggest the 39 'cause it has an updated baseband); you can download it from here: http://tinyurl.com/34tq4yp; somone else suggests the 09... you can download it from here: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/OS...amp;SC=EMEA_17)
- Afer following the instructions you'll have an up to date bin.
2) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM BUT WITHOUT MALEZ RECOVERY
- It's time to install the malez recovery
- If you didn't, install your USB drivers now...: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Ap...&SC=EMEA_27
- Download the malez recovery 0.5.4: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9
- unzip the archive and click install-recevery-windows.bat while your phone is ON
- Your phone will reboot several times during this process
3) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM AND THE MALEZ RECOVERY
- Almost done...
- Download ROM LS 2.1 (you'll find the links below)
- Connect your phone to the computer, activate the date-exchange by usb (once you've plugged in your phone a notification will appear, tap it)
- Copy the downloaded file in the main directory of your SD Card (Without extracting it) [Please Note: You've to copy this file in the MAIN DIRECTORY not in a sub-folder]
- Reboot your phone in recovery mode (If you did pass trought 'point 2', you'll find, in the malez recovery's pack, the file "reboot to recovery.bat" doubleclick it with your phone plugged in by usb, if you didn't, well, its better to download it from the point 2 or from this link if you're to lazy to scroll the page up: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9 .
- Once you're on recovery's main screen you'll have to move through its menu by Volume UP/Volume Down buttons
- Go to "Flash/Test menu" and press the MENU button (the last touch button of your acer liquid, the one with three stripes)
- Press Menu once more
- Go to SDCARD:LS2.1 and press MENU
- press HOME (bottom left) and wait for the process to end
- Once this installation ends press BACK (the "<" button) to go back to the main menu, then press MENU to reboot your phone.
- If you want to delete added aps (the ones in /data) and to have a clean ROM it's the moment to do a "Wipe Data Factory", obviously the widgets of the removed apps won't work and you'll have to delete them from your home. I suggest to keep them cause they're very useful.
4) START HERE IF YOU ALREADY INSTALLED THE ROM LS
- Congratulations!
- The first boot will last a bit more than the usual, don't worry.
- Once you're phone is on, select your language and follow the setting wizard
- Once the wizard finised go to the apps menu and open LSsettings
- Here you can set the touchscreen sensitivity and many other things
- If you'd like to install the theme pack or an OC kernel (if you don't know what an oc kernel is don't install it, you don't need to); you'll find links below; every pack has got a README file explaining how to install it
- Tip: select HTC_IME keyboard by holding a textbox
- Once you've set the ROM reboot your phone.
- Now The ROM LS is installed and ready to use! Have Fun!
NOTES
- Once you've turned on your phone, tap the taskmanager widget to end every app you dont need
- Don't WIPE your phone after the installation or you'll lose every added app. If you accidently wipe it, simply re-flash this ROM.
- App + Data on SD may causes really problems to the system. Please, choose app on SD only

I faced with one small but very distressing problem. During typing SMS message I pushed Erase button several times and quickly. As result - a message receved by itself unfinished.(It happened again when I tested if i was wrong)
I newer saw this problem in LS 2.0. What's wrong with this one?

themes apps overclocking.... everything sounds perfect
the only problem i am having is with launcher pro ! i have the app for the plus version and i cant install it with astro or any other file manager !
any solution for this

you use the unlock launcher pro plus from the preferences
if your trying to use an older version that you downloaded then not much i can do to help with that

you understand that launcher pro plus is something you have paid for??
meaning that if you didnt pay for it you wont be able to unlock it?
that is not a bug and if your trying to get the pro version for free - that is why the app maker changed the way the pro version works and is no longer a seperate apk
so you cant steal pro anymore
pay for it or stop whining - its not a bug

i already paid for the app and i have a backup of the paid apk... thats why i want to use it and not pay for it again ... hope u can understand that

Question about swipe and voice to text...
Hi there, first thanks Lainsuxeian for the amazing rom, speedy and beautiful.
Now question - for member here, does this rom has swipe as in slide your finger on keyboard to type a word? cause I can't seem to activate it.
Question 2 - Does the voice to text work? the icon is in the keyboard. however when i touch it, nothing happend.
Question 3 - Has any1 overclock their phone yet? which 1 is best in your opinion, stability? 880? 920? or 998? ....since they lainsuxian post 3 option, that's suppose to work, i'm still a litto affraid so i am asking every1 in here to see how their is doing, about 5 vote is good, thank you very much

This is based on the latest Over The Air (OTA) Update for the HTC EVO. Thanks to phiredrop, mdeejay and mattc (1st EVO based builds I learned from) & myn for the Stock EVO OTA Update
First Boot Notes:
* First Boot will take about 20 minutes (or seem like it or longer) as the data.img is being unpacked.
* New EVO kernel uses the logo.rle in the initrd.gz (Black HTC Splash) that stays on while the Build "does its thing in the background"
* During setup, you may see that the "phone process" Force Closes (FC's) as a result of APN's now being Set during initial Setup
* If you rename the Buildfolder Android or anything else, DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE THE startup.txt OR ELSE you will not be able to boot properly.

Tips & Tricks:

Everything may not initialize properly on first boot. Reboot twice after the first successful boot.
Use all the defaults (including build folder name and kernel) before changing anything.
On First Boot, Install then Open Spare Parts and Disable Compatibility Mode to get Full Screen Apps in Older Apps that don't scale
Fully Charge while Device is Off before first boot, then upon first boot go to terminal and enter these (without the quotes) and press enter after every line.
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
Ensure that Keypad Lights are on when Haret is launched.
Fixes:
To fix dialer from adding 011 every time a "+" precedes a number dialed, please refer to this.
Please read through the instructions on fixing the 011 bug... Its Right ABOVE THIS Sentence.
To get data working:
1. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
2. Press the menu button and choose "New APN"
3. Enter your provider-specific information (Google for CyanogenMod APN as they have a whole list there)
4. Press menu and select "Save"
5. Press the radius button next to your new APN and you're good to go!
*Note: Data is quite picky on this build as its originally a 4G ROM and CDMA... If it doesn't work for you, then hopefully the next update fixes it.
The 3 Hyper Rules:
Rule#1 Please read & follow Instructions before reporting unknown bugs on the thread (Known Issues will not be responded to... If you're smart enough to load Android on your HD2, you're smart enough to search and read the stickied information) and not by PM... PM's will be ignored

Please Follow the Instructions:
1. Please read the OP... this serves as the README for this 1st build... next builds will have it included in the Zip.
2. Please Copy the HyperDroidSense Folder to the root of your SD card.
3. Run clrcad (to enable sound) THEN run haret (which will close the WinMo kernel and load Android).(OR do it Automatically by Using Exceller's Android Loader, which I highly recommend and use myself to Quad-Boot)
3. Wait about 15-20 minutes for the device to initialize
You want to use another Android loader? Simply rename the folder to Android and change the startup.txt to reflect the change... after booting successfully for the 1st time and letting the device "simmer" (e.g. "rel_path=Android")
Notes:
* Backup the data.img that comes with the build as creating a new data.img is NOT recommended
* If some apps don't look the way they should, download LCD Density app from market and change to default 240.
* The Blue Wallpaper may not be set by default... Go into /system/customize/resources and copy SPC_Wallpaper and set as Wallpaper using Astro

Data (Out of the Box) does not work UNTIL you Manually enter your APN
Enabling and Disabling the Mobile Data Crashes the com.android.phone process (most probable cause is the CDMA origins of EVO builds)
Don't complain in the thread why any of the 5 things above don't work since its on the OP.

UPDATE: This short review is based on the release prior to releasing it to mass public. At this time, Pongster has only release to testers to ensure everything is working perfectly. A link to DL this build will be posted shortly.

Just Tested:
0) Use the stock data.img after extracting the folder.
1) Music does NOT studder like in Mattc's 1.0.1 evo build. I love music. It's a high priority.
2) Speed: It's fast and speedy and on par with the 1.5 hyperdroid build, however, though it chokes here and there more often.
3) Stability: Yet to confirm, but its stable so far for me. No crashes yet. Jayy got a "acore" crash. Poor you.
4) Quadrant scrore was at 1682. Nick got scores at 1700+
5) Upload and download speeds via wifi: 5.3Mb/p and 3.7Mbp/s It's good enough for me for regular browsing wifi.
**6) the stock 180dpi is very bad. everything is misaligned. i already confirmed with 3 other people (jay, nick, and robert). You must revert back to 240 for the best alignment, but for a working one, 200 "almost" fixes it.
Good build so far. but has a bit of improvements to work on.
I like the speed of it so far though

just waiting to dl another build of yours..

Pre installation requirements:

The four arrows and small tick (v) and delete (icon) bar will be displayed.
Tap on the delete icon to delete the button and the on tap on tick (v) to exit.

Tap on top of the touch screen to enable lock.
Slide the screen all the way up to unlock.
Tap on a button or hub to enable its function.

An approach for the implementation of a WP7 ROM image on the HD2 device. by ansar
Dear forum members,
Due to the release of many WP7 ROMs for certain devices, many HD2 users and not only ask if, i or they or others, can "burn" the ROM's to HD2.
Yet the reply is that the possibilities are to "burn" their devices.
Even for the new coming devices the ROM upgrade will be difficult, as far as i see from the analysis of the leaked/issued ROMs.
Thus, and due to my current status of development, it is time to report some facts of some approaches to implement a WP7 ROM.
But, always there is a but, there is no time to an extensive one to cover all issues.

A. The way of a direct boot.
The tools to extract the xip, the imgfs.bin and the rest are ready.
The tools to reconstruct the ruu_signed.nbh are also ready, even for HD2 cause for the rest
i.e. the HD 7 and the other known to me devices, was more strait forward.
The kitchen is also ready but platform builder is sensitive to the provided WP7 ROMs are probably built with ms platformrebuilder.
So for up to now reconstruction of the imgfs.bin, os.nb.payload, os.nb and ruu_signed.nbh takes place with additional effort.
No tools can yet be provided by me for a windows operating system like XP, Vista or 7, or other OS.
The direct flashing approach for other than HD2 devices needs development of new hard SPL's but
due to have a device, hopefully soon, more reports specifically about that will be released later.
The direct flashing approach for HD2 needs more development due to the following:
1. The previous MSFLASH50 header is no more valid (for all devices analyzed)
.. The new flashing layout is a hellout for us.
.. Also a new introduced SPL to route the device (by MS and OEM) about 25MB is included in official *.exe ROM files.
2. A small 1MB driving SPL (by OEM) is also included inside the ruu_signed.nbh (to make our lives harder).
3. The XIP is not the same as the previous known two modules assembly (cold and normal) but (up to now) of six modules.
.. These xip sections include common name modules but also are different in sizes, especially nk.exe
.. and seem to boot in an ordered way, alternate booting and/or separate booting maybe.
These are only some of the main difficulties that give the magnitude of the problems to overcome.
I was lucky enough not to brick it twice, but development will be continued.

B. The way of an indirect boot.
It is not possible yet due to bricking results to use booting images of other devices.

C. The way from bottom to top, from WM6.5 to Wp7, a safe but time consuming one.
I personal believe that we can drive the imgfs.bin of the WP7 ROMs on HD2 form the state we are now, i.e. from WM6.5.

WP7 Rom image would suggest a true WP7 rom so without running 6.5 i think

The WP7 ROM is very aggressive to other core systems and includes:
- WM6 security rules.
- a policy xml in almost all of SYS/OEM packages that binds them together.
- Two device IDs, one of the device manufacturer and one for the Operator i.e. Voda, o2 etc.
- Special firmware version, files time stamp and core version checking, etc.
These results to blocks the ROM image of booting, if not so careful when adding packages or files.
So each addition is done after some flashings and is time consuming.
The most challenging add on will be the new WP7 UI.
We will see how far it will go and if this WP7 UI can be implemented.
The final target will be the change of the XIP and booting to the new OS, if possible.

So in other words; a WM6.5.x ROM with bits of WP7 included for good measure?

So @ansar, in simple noob words, what could we expect and see in our HD2, with your ROM?
I can't wait to see some think like WP7s in HD2.
