Backlight conflic with iGo 8 - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

I discovered an annoying problem when using iGo 8. If you turn off the 'auto adjust backlight' in the device, and then set in iGo to keep the backlight always on, once you exit iGo, the device's backlight is reset to minimum.
So everytime I run iGo, I have to reset the backlight to the maximum again. The only way to solve this is to check the 'auto adjust backlight' again, and then the iGo settings don't conflict with the device's.
Did anyone see this issue as well? Any solution? I want to keep my backlight to the max, without any adjustments. But this iGo issue is killing me...
Thanks

Script for managing backlight and power off settings

Hi,
Anyone know how to create a script that sets the backlight to always on, and the sleep option to not to sleep?
I need this because I, as many of you, have a bluetooth gps. Everytime I want to use it I need to go to settings and manually set these settings in order to have the screen always on so I can see the maps while I'm driving.
Many thanks

Backlight - How to Keep it "ON" without Dimming

Could someone help and let me know how can i keep the Backlight ON continueously when i'm on Battery or External Power, for some reason i can get the PPC to stay on but the backlight "Dimms" after about 2 minutes. Do i need a special program?? (I have SPB Pocket Plus 4 installed but it doesn't help).
Start - Settings - System - Backlight - External power -> Uncheck "turn off backlight if device is not used for"

Thanks, but off-course this is what i tried first, be aware that this keeps the PPC ON but after a few minutes the Backlight is "Dimmed".
If you have more ideas i'd love to hear them.

erm... did you actually try it?
There's 2 menus: Power and Backlight.
If you go to the Power page, yes, light will dim while ppc stays on
But if you change it in the backlight page, the light will not dim at all.

Yes i tried it, but on my Backlight control page the ONLY thing you can do is change the BRIGHTNESS of the Backlight (for both Battery & Extenal Power),
there is no other control possibility there.

There is another tab at the bottom of that page which says 'Battery Power' click this and then you can alter the setting for allowing the backlight to stay on.

Unfortunatly my DoPod-810D WM5 doesn't have such a Tab, so i'm looking for a small program that controls the Backlight Dimmer?
You could edit the registry with the following
Change the keyboard backlight duration
To change the duration of the keyboard backlight, you can set (example is 30 seconds):
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout = 30 (DWORD decimal)
Please note that this may not work on some devices. One such notable exception is the HTC Wizard.

backlight always on

Hey, i have a navigation software installed on my phone, but after max 5 minutes my display automatically turns off. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
I've read that i have to set "Backlight always on" somewhere. But if i goto the Energy option then i dont see any option like that anywhere...
I also have Advanced Config Tool installed but couldn't find an option for this on that program either.
So can you guys pls tell me where i can find this option...?

Is there a way to Auto lock and unlock without entering PIN?

I'm using Miri WM 6.5 Manila 2.5 REV 6.
If I go to Start -> Lock, it works fine. But for Auto Lock (Settings -> Lock) it requires specifying PIN.
Is there a way to use Auto Lock in WM 6.5 without entering PIN/password to unlock?

Did you try HDTweak yet? It has a setting for autolocking.
I have tested it and it works however, on mine there was a strange issue with the backlight where it wouldn't turn on after unlocking. I had to turn off the screen and then turn it on, then the backlight would come back. It's only a minor issue, but if you can live with it it'll be fine.

Many thanks. But I did not use HDTweak AutoLock option because of that very issue .
Don't understand why MS doesn't implement this simple functionality.

Hmm... give Slide2Unlock a try. It supports autolock, but it's also a separate app which means using it will cost you more memory than the built in lock. But if you are in desperate need for this functionality, give it a try and it might just work for you.
I believe the newest version is S2U2.
Hallo,
I use this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542482
May be it works with WM 6.5 as well

Its not the best solution, but a way round this is to stop your phone light going to dim in the power settings. Just have the screen turn off after 2 mins or so instead. This way the screen never goes dim therfore never stays dim!
Use this app. It overcomes the dim light issue. First go back to HD Tweak and DISABLE the lock on screen dim.
Install the cab and then go to Settings\System\Smartlock and tick the Dim lock or Suspend lock options. The screen will then autolock on dim or on pressing power and there are no problems with the light on unlocking.
Thanks everybody. I'll try.

Unfortunately the Incall lock (presuming it is for incoming calls, because there is Outcall lock that should be for outgoing calls) does not work. The hardware buttons still answer/reject the calls which can be a problem while pulling the phone out of the pouch .

Have a look at phonealarm

For me, it handles locking and unlocking, supporting the stylus, profiles, location based functions and many more.
Another alternative is S2U2

[Q] Brightness problem 4.4 KitKat??

Any body else has noticed it? (KitKat)
Turn off auto brightness. Try sliding it slowly down
and when you met 60/255 values back-light will light stronger...
which is weird. It should constantly lowering the
back-light but 60 value breaks it.
It is really annoying if you have auto-brightness enabled
especially when you approach dark places. Brightness will lower
and than BAM! at 60 value it will x-rays your eyes
Any body know how to fix that?
anybody?
Try to disable "Content Adaptive Backlight"
You must make a shortcut of this app with the launcher [Nova launcher i.e.] or an app to create shortcuts
Also you can disable or change the settings of this. Test the settings that best suit you...
Meanwhile.. i'm in need for some help too
check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/elife-e7/help/request-nv-items-backup-qcn-ou-nvf-t3097931

On the dialer of the phone type *#8702# to test your backlight.
If apears all in chinese, download GN_MMITest.apk and replace the one you have in /system/app.
Have you tried 3rd party apps?
Disable the "Content Adaptive Backlight" install this app Brightness Widget - Backlight! and manually set the level you want.
There could other apps that do this better, i just dont know. So if this app dont do the job as you intent search for another app to do so...
Take a look at this How to Improve Your And... and if that is your issue. They suggest a paying app, but if it suits your needs maybe you should consider it...
Hi,
I tried almost every 3th party app like Lux, Velis etc... but problem is still there!
GN_MMITest.apk you posted is not working it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Thanks for your further help.
Have you noticed it?
When brightness goes across 60 value it will lighten up instead dimming...
With auto brightness turned on.
It seams it is system or kernel bug...

If u have root access then try xposed's module Screen Filter.
Link:- https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-screen-filter-t2893936
Thanks, but I read somewhere Xposed on KitKat cause boot loop...
So I am alone with that problem?
I'm installed xposed frameworks, and work fine, not all, but many modules work!
But, Screen filter no work, sorry! ?
Thanks anyway
