I have a HTC vodafone magic 32B.
I followed this http://www.karrderized.com/romguide/ tutorial.
Everything is working fine and it looks amazing the only problem is multi touch does not work in the browser.
I have searched and not found anything. Please can someone help, or explain to me what I have done wrong.

Hey all,
I'm a newbie to cell phone mods, the question has probably been asked before, I searched for a couple of days but cannot find how to switch OS (WM6 pro) to English.
The phone works with Canadian sim card, just have a hardtime with French version.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Do I need to install a new OS?
Read something somewhere about modifying Rom, but not excatly sure how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated.

Had a French ROM when I bought my ELF, flashed to Blue Elves 5.0 without any problems, then went on to try other ROMs, just make sure you got the proper flashing procedure sorted - all in the WiKi.

I think the OP already stated they have a hard time with French.
Everything you need in terms of resources, ROMs, software etc can be found right here, on this site. All you need to do is do some reading.

dear can u help me to update my elfo100 to english rom when i update elfo100 then give error that invalid vendor id plz give me some useful and simple trick to do that image version is 2.27.164.2

Please read the stickies in the rom section, or the elf wiki. These have your answer.
You'll want to CID unlock, dump your current rom etc, and flash a WWE rom (onyx etc.) Make sure you run DSIXDAs device_Info.bat so you know what you are dealing with easier, and also to make sure if it is genuine HTC.

I am attending to buy Htc Magic, here in Serbia, which is selling through VIP operator. The only thing that I know is that this one is not locked and it is 32A version, so it has 288Mb of RAM.
My questions are...can I make bluetooth working for exchanging files such as jpg, mp3, mp4...
I don't need it for bluetooth headphones...
And the second question is can i flash some Htc Hero rom, so it looks and works exactly as on Hero, on my Magic?

You should be able to flash other ROM after you have done the above ROM flashing
For me, I am using HERO light, very fast and stable for 32A bcoz I dare not to flash SPL

Hi all.. sorry to bug ya guys.. i am not new to the world of firmware upgrading but this h&c magic has been one of the most hardest for me.. i have a rogers unlocked htc magic with
firmware 1.5
kernel 2.6.27-5b476e38
Baseband 63.18.55.06KU
Build 3.05.631.7
main board 32A
I have tried so many things to get this to to root ie download files put them on my sd card but non worked i am not sure perhaps i didnt find the right software
i went to the unlockr.com tried there guides.. non worked i am not sure i i am doing this wrong i also went to the wiki for androids the links are broken..
so please if someone has an easy method to root this rogers htc magic please post it

I would like to upgrade it to 6.5 but have no Idea where to start or where I can get a cooked rom from .
I found a tute on flashing the 1.56 roms but the more I read the more confused I become. There is soooooo much information on here I am suffering from information overload and I cant seem to find a really basic step by step guide or where to download the cooked roms from all the links I follow are broken.
Its very frustrating for a newbie!!
Can someone please give me a leg up!

Hey Darkfibre,
Welcome to the world of phone flashing! First of all it's very important to know what kind of phone is it, is it GSM or CDMA? After that, you'll have to unlock the phone in order to flash a custom rom. If you've got a GSM device, then XDA is your best friend, if you have a CDMA phone then head over to ppcgeeks.com. Each site will have detailed instructions on how to unlock and flash your phone. Then it's just a matter of trying out a few roms until you find one that suits you. Goodluck and happy flashing!!

Hi everyone.
Well I built up the courage and now its 6.5 Energy.Blackstone 21908.Sense2.5 rom.
WOW Wat a buzz when it boots up in the new rom.
Love the new ROMS its made the old HD a new phone. Now its smooth and responsive with great usability.
Just LOOOOVS the sense 2.5 interface.
Cant believe how much I have learnt in the last few weeks

I would like to get a pinch zoom working just to rub it in the nose of the apple buds!!
I loaded pinch to zoom but it didnt work. Is there a Rom where it works, or should I stay with opera 10.
I also run the android app on it but its a bit micky at the moment.
This **** is really exciting but HOW do you learn it all!!

Pinch to zoom isn't really rom specific. I know I had a bit of trouble getting it going the first time. I believe opera 10 is still not supported but that may have changed. It works for me in Opera 9.7 build 35964. You may need to install a different version of opera to get it running. Still not really worth the effort imho but it's a great start.

Hello folks,
I have an old HTC Magic, actually a Japanese HTC-03A. A lovely little phone.
Ideally I'd like to flash it with Ubuntu.
Can't find any images for the Magic, can anyone point me in the right direction?
If it can't be done, I'll just have to root it and flash a nice, clean, fast ROM onto it. I'll let my son play with it.
