With my JAMin in the post and I sold my 1GB SD with my JAM what is the maxium I can get and work?
I really want a 4GB can I do this?
Thanks
Yes I can confirm that the 4 gig card will work. Mine is a transcend brand and It works well.
Mike
A 2GB SimpleTech card works well on mine as well. This same card did not work on the Magician.
just to add to the list the a-data 4gb mmc plus works first time in the JAMin.

Thank you, thank you! I've just got one from eBay and wasn't sure about cpmpatability until I was your post!

I have this card and the camera application will not write to the 4GB SD card. Everything else I’ve tried on the JAMin and the 4GB SD card is fine. I had a 1GB SD that worked with the JAMin camera application but the 4GB SD does not. Looking for a fix, I’m going to try stopping the extended ROM from loading but I’ve never done that and I have not loaded anything or hacked the JAMin in any way.
i'm using a San Disk 1GB works excellent. I would suggest you try the 2 Gb one (if that's enough for u )
Hi Tanquen.
Your problem can be fixed by filling up your 4GB SD card with files (such as MP3 songs) till it has <2GB left. Then the camera software can write to the SD card. It looks like there is a bug in the camera software that it can't work if SD card has more than 2GB space.
Try it.
I have problem with Transcend 2Gb x150 SDcard on my new Qtek S200. It loosing connection with SD when reading or writing a lot big files. Looks like this card too fast for S200.
Hi there,
I have an Orange SPV M600 and just about to purchase a new SD card.
One of the things I intend to do is play mp4 films stored on the card.
Has anyone else done this? Do I need a very fast sd card as I'm about to purchase a standard Kingston 2gb SD card.
James
I have a Lexar Platinum (40x) 1Gb SD card.
I play videos using TCPMP.
When I play Xvid's encoded for the pc (high resolution, this of course requires a high bitrate) at full quality the movement is rather choppy.
However when I re-encode the movies to the Prophets resolution (i.e. a max of 320x240) this of course lowers the bitrate, and at full quality there are no problems with the playback.
I'm not sure if the problem with the high-resolution playback is the Prophet's processor or the speed of the SD card, however when overclocking it does reduce the choppiness.
However I have tried using a 2Gb 150x SD card (forgot the brand, possibly APACER) and my Prophet did not recognise it at all.

i really don't think the speed of the SD card will be the limiting factor here.
that will be the cpu
However, i've heard a lot of horror stories about fast and big SD cards not working on the prophet.
i'm planning to buy a sandisk 2GB ultra II but i'm kinda worried that it will not work.
Can anyone confirm or deny this ? please also mention your version.
thanks,
ban
Had problems with Sandisk ultra ll 1.0gb
spv m600 would not recognise it.

Got a toshiba sd now and works ok.
http://www.toshiba-cards.de/
The one i bought was the blue model
Size 24mm x 32mm x 2.1mm
Maximum Write speed 2Mbytes/s
Maximum Read speed 7Mbytes/s
The speed of the SD card won't have any effect on playback. the bottleneck for video playback on the Prophet is the CPU.

Can't believe you didn't search this before posting. 4 gig, 8 gig both tested and passed no problems on elf. 16 gig is reported to be working as well by a few on the touch. In theory the Touch should be able to support up to 32 gig - The max for Micro SDHC.
If you are wondering whether OPAL ROM will support it - it should but you might want to check in the OPAL Rom thread if you are that concerned.
I did search but obviously for the wrong words. After having a second look this morning i did find the answer but still thanks for the reply.

Maybe a problemlos of too much files in the directory!? I have had the same problem when there were too many mp3 files - especially after every reboot!
Running 4GB on Elf, 8GB on Elfin... But 8GB will also work fine on Elf
Also tested 16GB - also fine on both!
I have 2 elfins one is using 8gb card and the other has a 16gb card both work perfectly fine.
8gb works fine on htc touch
16 gb will also work but will be slow sum wat
I got my 16 gig Sandisk micro sdhc and it is working beautifully on my HTC Touch Elfin - I have 13 gigs of music on it now and the only problem I have found is with S2P - Which crashes because of too many music files (not an unknown problem as A_C states and he is working on it.
just ordered my HD2 from Vodafone uk
and was going to put my Sandisk 8Gb Ultra Class 6 card from my HD1 into it.
but just found that my card is very slow.
tried my card in another HTC HD and takes ages to play music
but his card works great with no problem
so what is the best card to use???
which class?
and on the htc web site it says micro sd 2.0 what's that???
thx all
I think a Class 6 Card on the HD2 should be fast enough for it...
A card with 'Class 2' spec is similar to a card with a 'SD 2.0' spec
Is your card an original SanDisk card? Try backing up your files, then
reformat the card and see how it goes.
On my HD, a Class 2, and a Class 6 card (both Sandisk) works fine, so it should
be the same for your HD2 (tried a friend's while waiting for mine).

Format the card on the phone on which you intend to use it, it's best not to use a PC for this.

If the card specs are as above, the real questions to ask is what player are you using? and what size is the music library. Because if the first answer is Coreplayer, and the second is over 6Gb; then i would suggest you check the settings and disable the 'enable Library' settings
just got my 8gb transcend class 6 card and formatted it with my phone and put my data back on it. is there a benchmark tool to test it's speed?
and somehow rsshub didn't show my channels after I changed the card, I copied the data from the old card but rsshub seems to be back to factory settings, why?
I've got a 16GB Class 2 MicroSD here.
If I have that thing full of music is it going to **** up the HD2s music player?
Don't have my phone yet so cant test it.
just tested my Transcend 8GB microSDHC Class 6 card with SKTools Lite and it says 2MB/s write and 8MB/s read. that's kind of slow isn't it?
The SD association state "the minimum data transfer speeds for both SD/SDHC memory cards and SD/SDHC host products. This enhancement is easily recognized by three levels of Speed Class, class 2, 4 and 6. Speed Class 2 guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 2 mega bytes per second (MB/s), Speed Class 4 guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 4 MB/s and Speed Class 6 guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 6 MB/s." as to whether a read spead of 8MB/s equates to a transfer speed or not I'll let you find out yourself..
Just wait for SanDisk to release their 32GB microSD.
I will stay on my 8GB of my Kaiser till than...
anyone know when sandisk will release the 32GB ?

yeah but now is DECEMBER and the card not released yet !
I am using a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 : Works perfectly well
Also using a Generic (play.com) class 2 16GB and it works a treat. I watch xvid encoded TV shows and movies from it using Coreplayer and it works great.

I have a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 MicroSD card in my HTC HD2. Tried 350 songs stored on my memory card, and while in the Music Tab waiting for the library to be updated, HTC Sense/TouchFlo restarts itself over and over again. I don't think the Music Player in HTC Sense is that great.
I'm using Conduits Pocket Player for music and it works great. Just disable the Music Tab and HTC Sense should not crash if you accidently select that tab.
Using a 1.43 ROM by the way.
every time I connect my hd2 to my computer and after disconnecting it I can't access any of my music via the music player. it just does nothing, the library is empty and when I switch to landscape mode it says "no music found".
the only way to get it working is to reset.but that can't be it, what's wrong here?
I get the same - if I connect via USB as a mass storage device and then disconnect, I can't access my music library any more. Sometimes even a soft reset doesn't bring it back. Its really annoying! Best to use activesync I suppose but I use Linux quite a bit and it isn't an option.
No Memory Card access after a sync
I have the same problem - but I use Active Sync. I have only just figured out that the sync with my PC has been causing the problem.
Here is what has been happening.
If I DON'T sync with my PC - I can go for weeks with no resets and full access to all data and apps on my Micro SD.
As soon as I sync (via Active Sync - under XP) - the next time I want to run an app from my Micro SD - the HTC tells me it can't find it. My workaround has been to pull the cover off and eject then re-insert the SD (solves it 100% of the time) ... but I would love to know what is required to prevent this problem.
To test the above - I have just gone two weeks without the problem occurring even once (I was away and did not use active sync at all ... although I did use a laptop daily with the HTC connected ... but only as an internet sharing device NOT in any kind of sync mode). Now that I am back home - the first sync has resulted in the same of problem re-occurring.
Has anyone found the cause of this??
Cheers,
Scott
Happy New Year
I'm new to the site after just upgrading to the HTC HD2. Great site for a source of info.
I had a similar problem after transferring the files to the phone. Sometimes the files would show after transfer sometimes not. When I updated libary in the media player I was able to view all the files. I hope this helps, if you haven't tried already.
I'm also waiting for the 32GB card, but unable to find any info regarding the release date. Any news?
Hello,
My GF bought the HTC Touch2 to use with some medical applications. I gave her a 2gb sd card (sandisk) that i used in my HTC tytn. It worked OK. Then she bought a 8GB Nokia SDHC card, that crashed the OS and became very slow with use. I reformatted the card, hard reset the phone, but it always became very slow and ended up crashing the OS when loading an app from there. I bought a 8GB Sandisk card, expecting to be different, but this behaviour continued. I am using the latest Portuguese ROM. How is your experience with SDHC cards and the Touch2?
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Francisco
I use Transcend 8GB class6 microSD and it works perfect. Remember that applications installed on SD are runing slower than on main memory, but my phone don't crashed.
