MMS settings on G1 for T-Mobile Prepay - Networking

I have T-Mobile To Go prepay, and MMS picture messages work fine on the Samsung flip phone I got with the plan.
I just bought a G1, and regular text messages work, but picture messages give me a "Download of message was unsuccessful" error. How do I configure the network settings so that it can send and receive MMS messages?

No one has an answer for this? I tried this but it didn't work. HTC Wizard works with these settings:
Name: T-Mobile MMS
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port number: 8080
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: T-Mobile MMS
Send limit: 300K
WAP version: WAP 2.0
Is there a way to adapt them to the Dream?

I too have tried both, and cannot get it working

http://www.forceclose.com/questions...-to-download-on-a-t-mobile-to-go-prepaid-plan

I had mine working, receiving MMS messages on my G1 with T-Mobile Prepaid and no data plan, but it stopped working when I upgraded to CM6.

MMS proxy: 216.155.165.050

I had to enable phone data under Mobile networks, and then it will occasionally work, but then it will stop working. Like if someone sends me a bunch of MMS, I will only get the first one, and then the rest will fail. It's really annoying.

These are my settings. I just want someone to confirm that T-Mobile won't let you use these settings anymore. Does it still work?
I am fairly sure mms uses data so you answered your own question..

hmm.. I know you do on CDMA so it could be different on GSM then.. But then why isn't his MMS going through?
I do not know. All of other phones worked with MMS without a data plan like my iPhone 3G. I know a lot of people are having trouble with this like me from other websites.
remove the MMS Proxy and port.
It didn't seem to work. Are those your settings?
No, those MMS Settings were from my Nokia 6680 that didn't have a data plan.
but my G1 has a data plan and those are my settings:

this worked for me until i switched to cupcake, if that helps.
im lookin for a way to get mms's aswell!
Yes a lot of people are wanting mms for their G1. No one knows the settings though.

I hope this works
yea i also wanna know how to get it to work without the data plan
Thanks for the link but it didn't do anything. We just have to wait until someone shares their working settings.
Bump bump bump
I can't seem to get it to work anymore either..
Has anyone come across settings that avtually work yet?

htc hero MMS problem

i have a unlocked sim free HTC hero that i am currently using on AT&T, whenever i try to send an MMS it shows the message pending symbol on the top right of the message and it stays like that for at least an hour and then it finally tells me that the message could not be sent. i have added AT&T's access point name if that makes any difference...
What APN settings are you using? Are you able to receive MMS messages?
i am using the AT&T sim from my iPhone and have read that AT&T has mms disabled. Not sure if this is true. Below are the apn settings I am currently using.
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410
APN Type: leave blank
I'm not using a sim from an iPhone so it should be working and those settings are exactly what im using
Make sure your Wi-Fi is off. I also have AT&T and my MMS only works on my Hero when I turn off my Wi-Fi. I can only hope that the rumors of AT&T 3G bands being hidden by the firmware can be true, because it is a ***** having to constantly turn my Wi-Fi off to receive an MMS.
Oh , ok problem solved .
thanks uultramann switching my wi-fi off fixed the problem, but your right that is a hassle, and if the AT&T 3G bands are hidden does that mean there will be some sort of update for the hero to get those bands or am i completely off target?

this is my setup, i can send and recieve mms with no problems how this will work for you guys...
I can receive mms but there is a download button in the mms... once i click on it, it downloads it but i dont know where it is stored... help
for those of you having to turn Wifi off to get their MMS to work, instead of leaving the APN Type blank, try setting it to 'mms' (without the quotes obviously, and all lower case)
that should solve the issue for you.

If you have the Telus version then yes.

Calling all AT&T users. Setting up MMS APN (I've searched and still doesn't work)

Hey, so I am trying to get MMS setup on my Rogers HTC magic and I can't get it to work. I have 3g and edge working fine. I just can't seem to get MMS to work.
So I called AT&T they gave me this info
server name
at&tmms
gateway
wireless.cingular.com
port#
80
server address
http://mmsc.cingular.com
conect via
medianet
send limits
600k
Click to collapse
so the android APN is setup so I called HTC and they just told me to input this
Name: medianet
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy:

Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy:
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410

and I searched the internet and found this
Name: MMS
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410

and none of the above work.
can anyone help?
Thanks
have you rebooted your phone after applying the settings?

That is my current configuration that I got directly from an AT&T support rep. According to them the username and password are obsolete. I can send and recieve sms/mms just fine.
everytime i flash a rom MMS PROXY always defaults to <wireless.cingular.com>
i change this to 66.209.011.32

I found the PERFECT Internet and MMS Settings for HD2 Android Web2go!!!!

I've been trying for days to get this to work, I would get MMS to send but no internet and wont be able to download an MMS. I would be able to send an MMS but my number would come up as someone different. I haven't found a working config online for the Android Builds on MMS so I hope this helps everyone. it doesnt lift the 300kb limit, but I'm just freaking excited it works.
Go to Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> Mobile Networks >> Access Point Names >> then create a new APN with these settings
Name: T-Mobile
APN: internet2.voicestream.com
Proxy: 216.165.155.050
Port: 8080
Username: not set
Password: not set
Server: internet2.voicestream.com

MMS Port: 8080
MMS Protocol: Wap 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication Type: None
APN type: not set
I hope this helps anyone that has been trying to use web2go on there HD2 Android builds!!! And I also hope this isn't a repost because I'd be highly upset because I couldnt find the configuration anywhere! Enjoy and please let me know if it works for you guys!

I am using the settings quoted. and i have their unlimited Data Plan. I have full Internet, Texting, and calling. But no PICTURE messaging. Thanks!
wow, I owe you a lunch for these. I can't believe I didn't try using the internet2 server for the mms server before. Thanks so much!!! I removed the proxy and it still works! I received the mms in about 4 seconds. Nothing else has worked and I've tried for hours and hours and almost gave up.
okay, only half working. I can send fast now, but can't receive anymore. It worked once then dead. I'll keep trying, but at least I'm closer.
Here's a more complicated, but maybe more effective method. I figured it out after trying several other methods to lesser and greater extents. This works for me but it may not work for you.

Wait at least a minute. I'm using Handcent. You should see your connection disappear when you try to send as it switches over to epc.tmobile.com from internet2. I am getting 3-8 second sends at 100kb with similar receive times.
I think the trick is to do this and wait about 2-3 minutes. At first I had problems with the browser. It told me that I needed to upgrade to get internet access. But after about 3 minutes it started working.
let's see. trying again...
picture sent in 8 seconds
received in 5 seconds. 83kb
world of frustration is over for now
