MMS Settings? - G1 General

Hello everyone,
I recently moved to Helena, MT to be with my children, and there's no way in hell I can give up the functionality of Android. Since T-mobile doesn't get service in MT at all except for roaming, I switched to Cellular One (Formally chinook wireless). I got the APN info from Cellular one, and got internet working, but for the life of me I can't seem to get MMS working at all. I'll first list the settings I was told (they know nothing of Android at all so they gave me the settings for WM smartphones), and then I'll list what settings I have put in the phone. I hope someone can help me to get MMS working ^^.
These are the APN instructions exactly as they were printed out for me (for a WM phone):
Connection #1
Connection Name: Internet
Data Bearer: Packet Data
Access Point Name: internet.chinookwireless.net
Username: None
Prompt Password: No

OK, now here's the settings I have set up in the APN in android:

If anyone can help out with this it would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a way to check a log or something to show why it's not going through (like auth failed, or anything like that?)

Bump--Anyone care to take a crack at it? Hell, even a guesstimation might help..

anything from HERE help?

Unfortunately no. LFM is just a file manager (like astro, etc..) and the feature they are speaking of is being able to select a file within LFM and have it sent over to the standard MMS app to send it (using it's normal APN settings).
Thanks though

Hi, you've probably already figured this out but since I just went through a similar process (my company runs a mobile sync service and we need to test a big pile of different GSM phones against the service, which is not so easy here in Bozeman).
CellularOne has setup instructions for smart phones, e.g. :

Did you get these working on an Android?
Don't know if this will help as I am not familiar with android but this site http://montanawireless.blogspot.com/2009/01/cellular-one-gprs-mms-settings.html lists two slightly different settings for mms. One for wap2.0 and one for wap1.0. The only difference I believe is the port. I have no clue what version android runs but it might be worth trying the other port.
Another thing I noticed is when I flashed my s621 to ookba's wm6.5 rom it automatically downloads the network settings by itself using connection setup and I end up with 2 different settings named ChinookMMS. Strangely enough one links to the other anyways so I don't know why 2 are needed. One is under settings>connections>GPRS and the other is under settings>MMS Settings. If changing the port doesn't help I'll post the setting for both even though they are basically the same as yours.

I have tried both the WAP1.0 and the WAP2.0 settings. neither of them are going through. Also, the reason it auto configured like that, is because WM utilizes a piggyback setup. you have to create a DATA connection, then a new one under MMS that states which data connection to use. I'm guessing that the GPRS connection uses an APN of wapgw.chinookwireless.net and the MMS one links to the GPRS one right? it's no different then Android, cept Android does it all within one screen.

Not sure about what is what
I am using an unlocked Aria on AT&T and would like to know which specific fields should contain what for the T-Mobile APN etc.
When I go to: menu > settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. I then create a new APN Which has some required fields. Some of the ones you mention above are obvious while others are not. Can someone help fill in the blanks?

After setting this are there any other settings that should be changed to get on a T-Mobile network?
Will I be able to switch to the different APN profiles for sdifferent SIM cards with out a problem or will I have to reenter this data?
Thanks!

As a Telfort employee I must tell you Telfort does not have a username and password, those 2 should be left blank.
Most important is that you check the roaming feature, without roaming on, you can't use data.
If this isn't working for you, go to forum.telfort.nl and pm a administrator, they can check your network registration and give you some help if needed
Telfort settings
Hi there,
I've been having the same issues with Telfort, but I fixed the problems using:
1. Latest radio 2.15.50.14**
2. The following settings:
Name: Telfort
APN: internet
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mp.mobiel.kpn/mmsc

MMS port: 8080
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 204
MNC: 12
Authentication yupe: <Not set>
APN type: default,supl,mms
Although I use a different NAND Build settings should work.
Note that I haven't tested the MMS settings, but at least internet works
PS: Like eyesonlyx noted; make sure data roaming is turned ON

You can also replace the apns-conf.xml in the \system\etc folder. Then reset the APN.
