I've even tryed the EVRC thing
Mine is very spotty. Sometimes I get 1.5mbps and other times (like right now), it looks like this:
Wifi is ok, but its results are slower in the browser vs. the actual Speedtest app:
Mine is also as horrible here in Phoenix.
I've been happy with my service in Jacksonville. Usually in the range of 1.3 - 1.5 mbps, upwards of 2 mbps

Ditto. Either way though, my 3G connection is still faster than my home's DSL.
Then again, what would you expect from AT&T?
If you're using the SpeedTest app to check speeds, just be aware that it is inaccurate as all get out.
Same,
I just switched from ATT(St. Louis) My ATT 3g speeds are similar to my 4g Sprint speeds at times
3g on ATT in a rural area tested from 1.2-2.3mpbs, sprint 4g has topped out at 2.0mpbs downtown.
Very sad.

What do you recommend? DSL reports?
EDIT:
Here's the results
4g
Speedtest - 1.56
DSL Reports Flash - 3.8
3g
Speedtest - 155
DSL Reports Flash - 556
You may have something there sir
Seems for this app it either doesn't throttle or is using **** servers.
Well i dunno what to blame. I do live in a completly brick house. All though i can go to walmart and have 5-6 bars but go back to my house 5 blocks away with a good signal all the way untill i walk up my steps (garage appt) and into my door and drop to 0 to at best 4 bars. Its almost like my house is made out of led or something because it seems to block out any kind of signal, even the "new" digital tv signals. But even when i do have a full signal the best i get is 100kb/s
what is really stupid for me is that my upload speed over 3g is oftentimes faster than the download speed with full bars.

That happens when you use the speed test app. It won't be the case with anything else.
I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. I know people here are more educated about these things than people at the Sprint forums.
"I have an Airvana connected to my router and its IP is DMZ'ed. It works great but the speed tests while connected to the Airvana are less than stellar. My internet is 10-15 mbits down and .5 mbits up. I have an Epic 4G and when I go to the Phone Information menu it shows that I am connected to EV-DO Rev. A and when I dial #99 I get the message that I am now within airave coverage. Now I understand the EV-DO Rev. A standard has a max down/up of 3,100/1,800 kbit/s but I don't get anything near that. The most I get is 1,200 kbit/s down and 500 kbit/s up with a ping of 125-200ms. I know the upload is limited by my internet but the download is not. I have gotten much faster download speeds from Sprint towers and usually the same ping if not lower. When I connect to wifi however, I get 10+ mbit/s down and .5 mbit/s up with a ping of 20-25 ms. The two things I don't understand is why I'm getting 1/3 of the 3G speed I should be getting and a horrendous ping.
The apps I use are speedtest.net app and the FCC broadband app. Both give consistent and similar results."
Even though Rev A has faster speeds than what you are getting, your Airvana will only go as fast or slower than your net connection. So you will only see your speed below 1,200kbit.
On a side note I am surprised that your Airvana unit works. I have been having issues for about 2-3 weeks now connecting to the Airvana.
The Ev-DO Rev. A standard does indeed dictate upto 3800kbit/s down, but you will rarely see anything about 1.2Mbit, even if you were right next to an empty tower. The 3.8Mbit/s number is really for *burst* transfer rates, not for continuous, linear transfer rates. Keep in mind that several things are affecting your data radio's performance, including RF noise from other sources nearby. 125ms+ ping times are *completely* normal. Even over 4G, your ping times won't be much better than 70-80ms. Rev. A was supposed to improve ping times (over Rev. 0, you could easily expect 200ms+), and to some extent it did. Keep in mind that your network connection and internet connectivity, time to your head end, etc., will all dramatically affect ping times.
On average, Ev-DO Rev. A transfer rates will be between 700kbit/s and 1.1Mbit/s (this is from extensive testing.) I have once seen sustained transfer rates of around 2Mbit, but it was a one-time occurrence, so possibly an outlier datapoint. The speeds you're showing there are really quite normal.
Recently installed an Airvana at my parents's house, it works *amazingly* well. Average throughput is right around the speeds you're quoting. Never had any connectivity issues with it within the network (as opposed to the "recommended" setup; I have set QOS on the router). The first-generation Airave constantly dropped calls, messed up GPS, and caused mayhem. The Airvana has been nothing but wonderful, and my parents finally have great coverage. GMaps and all aGPS-based apps work great, and all seems peachy; they got it right this time.
Thanks a lot for the info guys. I have been extensively testing internet speeds everywhere I go (New York City and Long Island, New York) and on average I still get slightly higher download speeds and lower pings from the towers but not by much. Another thing I noticed is that when connected to the Airvana the speed test apps "jerk" or stutter a lot when conducting the test but it's not noticable when using the device. I took a look at my DNS settings and IP on my phone and nothing matched my home network. This leads me to believe that the path to the internet is phone-->Airvana-->router-->internet-->Sprint VPN (or something similar)-->open internet. This would explain why you can use Sprint TV through the Airvana but not on wifi.

Unless you have enabled QoS on your router and given the Airvana highest priority, it might be a good idea to have it on the outside of your network, e.g. modem -->airvana -->router -->PCs. This will ensure that the femtocell has absolute network priority, which it should.
Stuttering is confirmed, does the same for me as well. It's somewhat hit or miss though, and it can also happen at random when I'm testing against regular towers. As far as external IP goes, yes, it wouldn't make any sense for your phone to have an internal network IP, especially because it will be going outside your network at some point. So yes, the femtocell is essentially acting as a router and tunneling to another router outside your network.
I have an Airvana, but for data, almost always use WiFi at home.
I turned off my WiFi and did 3 speed tests on Airvana 3G using Speedtest.net app
Down Up
1.83Mbps 0.72Mbps
1.94Mbps 0.63Mbps
1.76Mbps 0.55Mbps
So my results are surprisingly good.
I'll take those numbers over 3G anyday

I am on t mobile in nyc area. I recently did a speed test using the app, and my upload speed is higher then my down load speed. Is this always the case?
Down .5 mb
Up 1.6 mb
I did the test three times and all the time up was more then down.
Also are those 4g speed and are they good
Thanks

average since you are in 4G speeds some users get 6 mbs to 9mbs even more as well! and upload is an amazing rate btw..
I myself get 4mbs down and
900kbs upload but that is because I'm not on hspa+
go to a diff place. speeds vary from where you are.
U get 6mbs and ur not even on 4g

Damn, I would DIE for those speeds. I get 2.2 Mbps down and only a whopping 100 kbps up. I NEED UP MORE THAN I NEED DOWN!!!
I used to get similar speeds to OP at home. They recently upgraded "my" tower because now I'm getting 8+mbps down and 1.7+mbps up.
Patience, I guess
I always get higher upload vs download and not even close to the speeds I see on here. Generally we're talking 300-400k down and 800k up on a good day. I have repeated these tests on my MT3G and new MT4G. This is with the HSDPA indicator in the bar and HSDPA shown in phone settings. Lame.
At my house I get about 1.7, 1.8 up and anywhere from 2 to 6.5 down. The speeds tend to change seemingly at random, haven't really found any noticible patterns.

Is that "speedtest" speeds or actual downloads? My tests are all over the place (and low-ish: 2-3 mbps). Actual downloads go well over twice as fast.
My usual upload speeds are higher than my download speeds. They aren't super fast, but they are extremely consistent.
Downloads range from .75mbps to 1mbps
Uploads range from 1mbps to 1.5 mbps
Wish i could get some faster speeds in HSPA+ coverage with full bars, but the T-mobile rep admitted to me that the HSPA+ rollout in my area is very fresh and not really official, covering a small area of the city, so I can't expect too much at this time.
I never really use my wifi on my phone even though I have it at my house. But last night I connected to wifi to compare download speeds with my sons droid x. Well come to find out that this thing is downloading videos at 1.5gbps !!!! I could not believe it, is this a normal speed for the Fascinate? I also have rubiks rom with the data throttle remover. Could I get some feedback, just want to know what most people are running on wifi. Thanks.

1.5gbps? Are you sure that its not mbps?
At that speed, are you downloading videos within a second?
If you are download at 1.5gbps, that's unworldly fast. You mean mbps? Also, Wifi speed also depends on how fast your home internet service is in the first place.

It has to be Mbps; the max speed for wireless N is around 300 Mbps.
correction
My bad guys it is"mdps" After I posted I realized that I mentioned to put mdps. But I still think that's pretty dorm fast, it beats every laptop on the house and this is a phone.
You still probably want to say mbps. Today's phones can match any laptop on the a,b,g,n WiFi band. It all depends on you isp speed and what type of wifi you're using.

Just to let you know wireless N has virtually nothing to do with download rate. That has to do with your ISP wether it be Verizon's Broadband or any ISP... Wireless N can reach speeds of 600Mbps with a dual bonded router and dual bonded adapter... This will only matter if you transfer files on your LAN... Not over WAN... normal maximum bandwidth around the country is anywhere between 1.5-25 Mbps... not to say there isnt faster.
As far as m.b.p.s. on down and uploading speeds? Where I live inside my home I get 50-80 m.b.p.s. on downloading speeds and 10-30 m.b.p.s. on my uploading speeds with my T-Mobile samsung Galaxy s9 plus device.I was just wondering if you guys we're getting roughly the same speeds as I'm getting or if your are receiving aloe faster speeds than I'm getting. Depends. On my carriers network (Freedom) my phone displays lte and I pulled 100Mbps down with 25Mbps up yesterday. Today, I was roaming on either Telus or Bell and my phone showed 4G instead of lte and I got a whopping 5Mbps down.
On Wifi, I can max my 350Mbps internet connection and my lan speeds are usually upwards of 800Mbps.
On my home wifi, i max out my bandwidth. 220Mbps down and 20Mbps(Virgin UK). Mobile data on 4G at home, 197Mbps down and 49Mbps up (EE UK). I do get slightly higher download and upload speeds sometimes whilst out and about in London. Had similar speeds on the Note 8 as well, so for me, nothing changed.
Hope this helps.

30 Mbps Download (Max 50 Mbps download) and 96 Mbps Upload on my Wi-Fi.. I dont know whats the issue with my wifi.. all my phones give similar speed (a bit less than s10+ though). Over ethernet I get around 70 to 80 Mbps download and 85 Mbps Upload. I'm on 100 Mbps plan.
My lte has been turd slow, like 30mbps no matter where I'm at. Verizon, anyone else having this issue?

Check the bandwith of the channel (20/40/80) and if you are using channel aggregation, your downstream channel is probably too crowded for your current settings
Topic:
240/20 (my plan) on wifi no issues,
Average of 60/15 on LTE, some locations are way less (10mbps) some others are way more (200mbps), but thats the normal stuff here
I found though that this is the best modem i've used (including phones and actual modems) regarding agreggation, my S8 drops aggregation faster, generally once it reaches 1 bar of signal (like indoors), while my S10+ just keeps going along, it generally drops it only once the signal is really poor
But because of that ,it is much more hesitant to drop to HSPA+, which is a technical problem per say, as here HSPA+ as really good coverage overall and its clean (constant 20mbps) due to everything moving to LTE.

Well, I tried everything possible for a possible increase in download speed but nothing worked. Everytime I did a test from Ookla it showed around 30 Mbps, but when I download something from PlayStore and Calculate the time using stopwatch, the speed comes out to be 83 Mbps Download.
I have 500MB/s at home and my S10 gets upwards of 350± . Newer ASUS router, 5GHz using Ookla Speed Test. It's a beast of a phone and Beasty bandwidth capabilities! Love it!
