Guys,
I am sorry if this thread is duplicated. I tried searching a lot, but could not find the exact thing I was looking for.
I have a VF branded TP2 and it does not have 'Internet Calling' tab under Start > Settings > Personal > Phone.
Is there a way this can be enabled for TP2 and a SIP provider added for VoIP calls?
I am currently using Fring / AGE Phone as SIP clients, but am not too happy with them because of some limitations.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
i'am also looking for this.

Re: About to Purchase an XDA Exac: email setup w/ GPRS?

Hey folks...
I'm about to purchase an XDA Exec. I've seen most of my questions answered in various places on the net including this one.
The ONLY question I haven't seen addressed directly is the following:
I have a tmobile account which pushes my email to my phone. I understand that I insert my sim into the XDA Exec, but do I have to input any settings to grab my email from tmobile's servers so that it "lands" in my XDA?
Thanks in advance. I didnt see anything specific about this...

Yes you do. O2 sets up Exec to work with O2... so you need to get your settings for t-mobile to make email work.

Those were other comments that I commented out...
Thanks for the 411 and I appreciate the assistance as I am a novice at this.
1) Assuming I fresh and empty XDA and assuming that I start w/ the start button, where exactly do I apply these settings?
2) Are these also the settings for web surfing via gprs?
Thanks
1) Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Manage existing connections/add connection (in the top part) > select modem Cellular Line (GPRS,3G) > enter APN > Finish
2) yes

This is EXACTLY what I have done.
I then start pocket IE and get the following message:
"The current connection cannot be used for your request. Please end the current connection and try again."
Are you on the phone while you are trying to connect to GPRS? If you are this is why you are getting this message. I have no issues with my JasJar and GPRS. I am using the O2 rom which is much better than the Imate. I suggest hard booting your device, and not using any of the O2 garbage. Unlock the extended rom and just run the bluetooth patch and dialer cab. Then re install any apps you want. Have fun!

My hermes has stopped sending/recieveing mms messages since i got back from the UAE.
Ive tried to input the settings from the website but strangly the server isnt being listed in the servers tab (tools, options, mms, servers) but the set as default key does change from grayed out once ive added the details.
Anyone got any idea whats happening here and how i might fix it?
Cheers
(BTW im running WM5)
I have a tmobile cab file which will enter ALL the tmobile settings for you.
I use it for after a HR on roms which arn't tmobile specific.
the only thing that it does a little wierd is it tries to set the MMS outgoing service to use the WAP connection rather than the GPRS connection.
this is an easy thing to put back right thought.
I can send it to you if you think it might resolve your problems.
regards
Tony.
PM me if you can't find it.
Thanks for the offer but i took the opportunity to upgrade to WM6 with the offical tmob rom.
Cheers any way
Hi there in this forum,
searched for VoIP, I found several "How-To's" for activating VoIP in Windows Mobile 6, e.g.:
[GUIDE] How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6. - xda-developers
VOIP software...Whats the latest now? - xda-developers
VOIP in WM61, done! - xda-developers
Which one is working for Diamond 2?

FIRST use the first guide (How to configure...) to set up your SIP settings cab and then...
1. Install the following attached VOIP cab
2. Install your SIP settings cab.
3. Soft reset your device
4. Open Phone then menu, then options, then you will see a tab labelled Internet. Click and here you can select when to activate Internet calling.
Working great on my TD2
Thank you for your reply.

I don't have a "SIP settings cab", I have data (server, username ...) to type in manually. Necessary instead of your step 2, I assume?

Good news! No problems with the first guide? The thread sounds terrible meanwhile.

Done on my TD2 too and it works (I'm using VOIP buster).
The before call screen is perfect (the operator name changes to VOIP Buster from my original 3G Wind) but there are (tolerable) problems with the call phone screen:
- operator name reverts to cellular one (but the call is positively made through VOIP Buster)
- there is an overlapping with called name from the contacts (red marks are mine, for privacy)
- the "shade cover" is missing
Do you have similar problems?
I have problem on my Diamond2, I was created the cab with my VoIP settings, but after installation there is no file Prov0SIPSettings in /Windows/System/VoIP directory :-( I was checked my _setup.xml many times and there is all ok, the problem why the file isn´t created must be somewhere else.
Is there any other sollution how to use VoIP on my Diamond2? For example with SIP Config tool? Thank you for any help.

Yep I noticed that on the 1.39 ROM but don't have it now on the newer 1.40... so you'll have it fixed soon once the Hard SPL is out
Using VOIP.cab as above I had VOIP working on my Diamond2. The usual problem was sound on the speakerphone instead of earpiece where it should be.
After some research I found a 'manual' solution at Teksoft (http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware).
Then I made a little and dirty small application to 'automatize' it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519008)
IP Phone
has anyone solved that?
i have IP Phone option in Comm Manager (i think i have enabled it through registry).
has anyone tryed to have VoIP on WM6.5 in topaz directly (i mean without apps like fring, or nimbuzz...)
Save your money, use VoiP

HI,
I've just bought the HD2 today on SIM free to replace my iphone 3G. When I bought the phone the guy in the shop said I may need to change my O2 internet and data settings from idata.O2 etc, to wap.O2 etc as iphone settings are different from all other phones and are idata as default. However, I can't find these settings. I can configure to O2 settings but it doesn't come up with individual settings and ip addresses etc. Where can I find these?
Cheers
Try setting the HD2 internet settings to O2 and you should be fine.
for MMS settings check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=590753

OK thanks. It shouldn't alter the way I'm billed or anything should it?
To make sure of that check with O2. I suppose it makes no difference but I'm not familiar with dedicated iphone proxies etc etc.
Hey Guys,
i know the Title sucks but a better description would have taken to much space.
My problem is that my apps don´t get access to the internet anymore, it was working for several weeks with same settings etc. until i went to Israel for a week. Since then it didn´t work anymore. I can´t update my QuickGPS, can´t surf with ie / opera / skyfire and so on. The connection settings are 100% right!
The funny part is, that i can get access over the "W-Lan Router" App with my laptop, so hardware can´t be the Problem.
I tried several Roms:
Blackdragon (this is what i always used)
BlackStoneHenge
GoldLockes rom
StockRom from HTC Website
between flashing i always did task29.
Does anyone have an idea about that? My provider is Vodafone DE if that matters.
Thanks in advance
Banane
P.S. English is not my foreign language but i hope you can understand whats my problem.
connections settings orange branded
Hi
HTC touch hd uses automatic settings on most non branded phones. this can be accidental turned off somtimes.
if you go to settings > connections > connections set-up
On the menu link on the bottom, is enable Auto Configuration checked ? if not that could be your problem. You can always manually enter the connection settings but i find that a pain as i change sims now and then.
If the phone is a branded phone you may find the connection settings only relates to the information of the branded carrier, if so download the new connection database I know this works for a Orange Branded HTC touch hence my Title for this post . Psykokwa did some good work here

Hi makkad,
thanks for your reply. I am using a Wm6.5 Custom rom (BlackDragon) so there is no branding. The automatic connection set-up does not work for me because i have to use wap.vodafone.de as apn with a proxy and the wizzard does neither configure a proxy nor the right apn.
Like I said in my first post, the connection settings can´t be the problem because it worked before with same rom / settings / etc.
But here are my settings, if you can find a mistake in them i would be happy
Name: Vf Live!
Modem: GPRS, 3G
APN: wap.vodafone.de
- Auto assigned IP-Adress
- Software - compression enabled
- IP-Header - compression enabled
Proxy-Settings:
HTTP: 139.7.29.1:9201
WAP: 139.7.29.1:9201
WAP (secured): 139.7.29.1:9203
Socks: 139.7.29.1:1080
