How can you reset the hero to its orginal settings and wipe all saved data?

A hard reset deletes EVERYTHING and restores your phone to factory settings. So, if your phone was not originally on Cricket's network, then those settings will be deleted.

What about a soft reset? and which is the hard and soft reset?
.....a soft reset is powering your phone off, then powering it back on.
..a hard reset is wiping EVERYTHING from your phone and restoring to the way it was out of the box.

Nope, the Factory Reset just delete all your personal data (setting, contacts, etc...) and your FW is stay same

hard reset - reinstall wiping all data
How can I do a factory reset? AT&T did my steps and I just want to do them like if I unbox the phone to make sure I select my settings

A quick question-is there a difference between the two? Meaning, does the bootloader factory reset wipe the phone more than going in to settings and factory resetting from there?
