Hi Guys!
i've been searching for a long time but i didn't find anything...
i'm looking for a good facebook application which is like the one on the iPhone...because with the official MS Facebook App you can't comment anything
does anyone have a good facebook app for windows mobile 6.5?
I usually just use the full site, takes a while to load but works pretty good. Have you tried iphone.facebook.com?
hey
yes i'm using iphone.facebook.com at the moment...but i'm not very happy with it because the display of my x1 is smaller than the iphone's and i have to scroll all the time and it crashes sometimes
m.facebook.com works just great for me. Especially on the Opera browser, but it works great with all browsers, even PIE.
yes you're right with m.facebook.com but i don't like the design...it looks very confusing ...an that's the reason why i'm searching for an app which's like the iphone facebook app
have you tried the official Facebook app from Microsoft?

official facebook app does not show all comments on statud updates (only the latest) and IME, does not show as much content as the m.facebook.com site. I use the app for uploading pics only, and only on my Samsung Jack because they Fuze can do it the the HTC Album 2.5...
WM 6.5 with the official facebook app is great, it looks nice and even the inertia scrolling works.

I agree. I use m.facebook.com more (via FIM or Opera). But when I want to upload photos I use Office Facebook. I ditched iphone.facebook.com as m.facebook.com actually better

Hi all loving this new phone, a few bugs for me, nothing major like i had with my crappy n97.
1st off does anyone who has the facebook app have a problem viewing other peoples photos ( skipping from one to the next) mine just flashes the windows loading icon in the middle and does nothing else.
second the clock keeps flipping back an hour or so when i alternate between screens.
just a few niggles, i'm mostly happy
oh and if anyone has a link to a site where i can get some free apps that'd be nice.
Cheers
Phil.
The facebook app as a whole is entirely rubbish, and appears to have been written by a drunk monkey. Most people tend to prefer using touch.facebook.com (or m.facebook.com if you prefer a simpler interface). Add it to your bookmarks and add a shortcut to it on the homescreen and you'll barely notice it's not a standalone app.
touch.facebook.com does the job thankyou.
Same phot problem here, its indeed rubbish!
Also video upload doesn't work
Thinking of getting the HD2 for T-Mobile. I had the unlocked GSM version in the past and put custom ROM's on it. I played with the HD2 at my local T-Mobile store the other day and I noticed that if you get a link sent to you for a youtube link, the opera will not re-direct it to the youtube app like it did in my custom ROM. In short, is there a way to make this happen on the stock T-Mobile ROM? Reg edit or something? I get youtube links sent to me all the time and as of now, opera just tells me that I'm missing something to play it rather than re-direct to the youtube app. I know that IE will do it but I don't use IE as my default browser. It's slower and no pinch & zoom.

what was your cooked ROM that did this?
Zenkinz'S rom DOES it. His ROM's are very good with some minor adjusting. I would normally slap his ROM onto a t-mobile HD2 but I wanted to give the t-mobile ROM a chance. Here is the link to his ROM. His is the ONLY one that does this properly.

Again, you can use opera and click on any youtube link video and it will launch the youtube app to play it. Very nice!
Can anyone figure this out? Any chefs know the recipe?

Why not ask zenkinz how it's done? I doubt it comes under the heading of national security, so he may tell you
Personally, I use Opera 10 (no pinch-to-zoom, but no text reflow either). Once plugins are enabled you can watch youtube vids in the browser, or click the fullscreen button. It's just as good as the app for viewing.
I use m.youtube, which when tap "watch video" opens htc youtube app
curious if there's a solution to this too
The only reason i ask is because if im browsing around Facebook and someone posts a youtube link, clicking it goes to Youtube.com in Opera where flash doesnt work.
So having a way to click a youtube link and for the Youtube app to open up would be useful

I notice that some ROMS and even stock ROMS will do it and some will not. I tried it on 3 different stock T-Mobile HD2's and none loaded the youtube app from the opera browser. Even if it was from m.youtube.com.

Does opera 10 replace the built in opera 9.7 on the HD2? Or can you use both.
I guess no one has found a solution?
Zenkin's rom does open it in the Youtube app, but it doesn't seem to open the same quality video as it would if you tried it directly via the app itself.
Kumar's rom doesn't have this function, the Touch Xtream does. However the Kumar rom runs circles around the Touch rom regarding both speed and stability. I would try Zenkin's rom, but it's running the older version of WM with the buttons x button on the top. Anyone know of a rom that is both fast, stable, on WM 25559 and does youtube links???
How about if you do not want to change the rom on phone ? can you get a direct link to youtube to pull up the app instead of the website ? that would be ideal. I currently am using a US tmobile hd2. its kind of annoying to not be able to watch videos that were texted to me. any help would be greatly appreciated !
After asking this question in a number of times, I figured it out to a point.
Make this change to the registry. It's the same tweak for the BBC iPlayer.
HLKM/Software/Opera/Prefs/User Prefs/Custom User-Agent
Change from HTC_HD2_T8585 Opera/9.7 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) to HTC_Touch_HD_T8282
Embedded links on webpages such as Engadget still don't show. Links do show up on google and will play from the app. So not a complete fix, but better then nothing for now.
From you guys' experience, what's the most rated IM client on Android? I'd like to get one that is pretty good (or very good) for all the popular IMs.
I use Google's Talk. Low on resources. Obviously works well with Google.
I use Nimbuzz. Tried it for Gtalk but for some reason it stopped logging on properly and my Google contacts stopped coming up. It works best for me for Skype chats over wifi. A much quicker and cleaner client than Fring which I also tried.
I haven't tried AIM.
What do you guys recommend?
Ebuddy does, msn, yahoo, aim, gtalk, facebook icq etc all in one app. i find it very good
Also check out Palringo. Nice integration
ebuddy I think! using it now as we speak lol
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I'm using Nimbuzz.. Its pretty cool I'll have to try out Parlingo and Ebuddy
Meebo anybody??
Using meebo right now seems fine to me
EBuddy is a bit more stylish

Cheers guys. I'm trying Ebuddy right now. One thing that I already like is the notifications are not annoying like another one I used which used it's own high pitched notification noise.
used meebo but switched to nimbuzz, cos it also has skype. otherwise meebo was ql.
I've been using MSN Droid for a week. It was pretty much ok, I liked the UI, it have all the usuall MSN options including avatar (it's missing "appear offline" feature only), but I noticed that it actually slows down my Desire (When I am in application and I press home button it takes at least 20 second to load my home screen, after that everything goes smoothly). It was enough annoyance for me so I decided to uninstall.
Now I am using eBuddy for several days and it seems very lightweight compared to MSN Droid. I really like integration of Facebook chat in it. Only feature that eBuddy is currently missing is personal avatar, but it might come with future update.
One particullar bug (or just something I haven't figured out yet) is that after I recieve message the phone indicator LED is not always blinking. Maybe someone else knows why on some messages the LED is blinking and not on the others?
Anyhow for the time being, eBuddy is my recommendation for you to try.
Cheers
Anyone know if it is possible to get the native android IM application working on the desire? The one that was ported from the g1 and modified to work on mobile internet/3g that is usually included on custom roms for the nexus one.
agile messenger and parlingo ar the best until now, at least from the one's that i've tested.
I like Im+ a lot, used it on my Windows Mobile X1 for a long time and bought it right away after switching to the Desire. Works great for me, unfortunately no Skype or Facebook as of now
I'm having some problem with the facebook app from Marketplace. For some strange reason, my friend's photo album won't load on the facebook app. I only see the red, green, yellow, and blue dots rotating. Sometime, those dots disappeared then turn into blank white screen.

same thing here...that facebook app is crap...dont use it.
I too have the same problem. I first had the problem with the Facebook app with the Stock T-Mobile ROM. I updated it to try and fix some problems. While it seemed to work better, I still had the problems with photos. They just don't update.
I now use a shortcut in Opera mobile to Facebook (using the latest Opera Mobile beta).

And when I upload pics using the Facebook app they look like crap... I had the Nexus One before this phone and I was amazed at the quality of the images uploaded right through the share function with my album.
I have the option setup so I can now email photos, I'll post again if that works better.
The only time i got it to work was when i was using wifi.

When I first began using my HD2 it told me to enter my FB info. Now whenever I have a photo I feel uploading I use the sense viewer and it is one click and they are on FB and they look awesome!
Hi all. I have an HD2 with the stock Android Gallery app. I don't like it. IMHO the photo viewing app on the Windows Mobile HD2(HTC ALBUM) is MUCH better. So much cleaner and QUICKER. Does anyone know of an app for Android that is similar to the HTC Album viewer? Where when I open it all it shows is a list of thumbnails of my recent camera pics?
Thanks.
I dont remember what the HTC Gallery looked like, anyhow, I hate the 3D Gallery because it's so slow while loading pics and sometimes for me it wont even load at all, im using the 2D Gallery and it works great for me, pics load up instantly, no waiting.
I got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7593732&postcount=5
thanks for the link.. me neither liked the gallery.. superslow
Cool thanks. Not exactly what I wanted but better than the 3D gallery IMHO.
