quick question about the mytouch - myTouch 3G, Magic General

my girl just got a mytouch 3g and is finally succumbed to android but she really isnt big on modding the phone root n etc...but she does have one major gripe that the phone doesnt seem loud. Ive also noticed this. my g1 is times louder that the mytouch, has any1 else noticed this ? and i was wondering would anyone be willing to do a audio hack for the mytouch similar to how its done for the g1 ???

My phone is actually louder than stock g1. Urs is louder because you prolly have the audio fix because you have root. But i mean once i removed the plastic off it. my music and speaker phone are both louder than what my g1 was. but if she doesn't like sound quality on it she will have to wait for root to modify the audio files

Jawbone 2

I have a new Jawbone 2 and I'm having a lot of trouble hearing with it. The sound seems really low. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm using RRE's 5.8 if that has anything to do with it..

This would be a rom specific issue that has been addressed in RRE's thread. If you read a few pages of the roms thread you would find the answer to your problem.
I have one also and am ready to trash it.
Very unhappy with Jawbone 2. The volume by default is set to lowest setting and you have to turn it up with the top button every time.
I used to have a Jabra until I washed it, but will be going back to Jabra as Jawbone 2 is a piece of junk. Return it if you can. I paid $129 for mine and a total waste.
I'm quite happy with mine. I only paid $60US for it too after searching for deals. Volume has been very good with the ROM I'm running.

Try using different ear gels. With the smaller size ear gels it will go farther in your ear. I find mine to actually be too loud most of the time.

[Q] Speaker hardware modding possible?

I love my HD2, but there's no getting away from how bad the speaker on the back sounds.
It's extremely tinny and there is no bass especially when compared to my cheapo ZTE BLADE.
Has anyone tried to mod in a new speaker? say maybe one meant for a desire HD?
i hav also HD2 but speaker voice very nice ..

[Q] NEW/Alternate Loudspeaker (upgrade)

Hey guys,
So pretty much all of us here know how awful the loudspeaker is on our myTouch 4g...
We also know that there are software mods to 'help' with the overall quality of the sound via equalizers... DSP Manager?
But..I personally don't find it helps all that much..let's face it, it still sounds pretty crappy =P
So..I was thinking...
Is there an alternative, OEM, speaker that we can use to replace the one in our phone???
Perhaps, we could find a speaker for a different device that has good quality, and install it in ours. I get there would probably be compatibility issues....
But surely there must be at least one other device whose speaker works well AND is compatible with our phone
If you have any info on the specifics or compatible devices/components...
Open to all positive suggestions. Would love to hear everyone's take on this matter.
THANKS

Extremely low microphone volume during calls

Callers at the other end have difficulty hearing me, and I've never been able to find a solution. At first, I thought it's the ROM I was using, but after flashing the stock rooted ROM, same problem. I'm using the correct baseband. I'll do a test tomorrow, returning the phone to factory condition with the latest images from Google.
Has anybody gotten this problem and was able to fix it?
Update: Back to factory condition. Issue still isn't fixed.
Newer update: Called Google Play Store via this number 1-855-836-3987. They'll be sending a replacement.
Bump. No one else has had this issue?
Bump.. Same issue here.. Stock unrooted

Maybe you can get yours replaced by warranty. I called Google Play Store (that's where I bought mine from) and I'll be receiving a replacement.

While i am not stock, I did notice this one time with my phone... like extremely LOW to the point i was pressing the phone HARD against my ear to hear.
Solution? I went ahead and flashed Paranoid Android 3.56 and flash the Louder volume MOD in the themes and apps section. That fixed my issue, I also know that not all of you will want to root, and that this SUCKS. but try to restart the phone.
Just root guys, this phone was made for that

Oh actually the issue I'm talking about is different. The ear piece volume is fine, but whenever I talk to someone on the phone, they can barely hear me unless I use speaker phone. I was actually using Paranoid Android, and I was being told I can barely be heard. So I flashed back to factory to see if it was a ROM issue. Sadly it wasn't.. On factory ROM I can still barely be heard.

Got my nexus 4 recently and i am also facing the same issue with some callers...not sure if this is a network issue or there's something wrong with my phone. Did the replacement solve your problem?

I'm having the same problem as well. Just received my Nexus 4 last week. They especially can't hear me if I'm speaking to them through my car speakers (3.5mm connection, not bluetooth). Wasn't a problem at all in the same vehicle with my Galaxy Nexus. Please let us know if the replacement worked better.

I am also having the same problem...my girl keeps shouting that she can not hear me..at first i thought some problem with network but than some of ma friends said same thing...whats the option now..?? i am from india and i imported it from US so cnt send back there..is anyone found any solution..??
I tried using headsets and the results were pretty much better..
Wish I could help. Just had to RMA mine today. Completely stock, no mic. Works when plugged in, sometimes, but for the most part no audio. When it is plugged in, the wife says I sound like I'm trapped in a bottle lol echo and static.
I had the same problem when I was running full stock. It was really annoying to hear "I can't hear you..." every other sentence.
This won't help if you do not want to root or run custom ROMs but since I switched to PA 3.56 and Matr1x kernel the people on the other end of the line haven't been complaining. I imagine for whatever reason it was fixed would apply to most custom ROMs and Kernels. I'll actually test this out this weekend and edit my post afterwards.
Edit: I made some calls to friends on PA/Matr1x/Radio .48 and everything seemed fine. I flashed full stock and called back the same people and only one person said they heard a noticeable decrease in the quality. That person also knew I was testing different settings on my phone so maybe they were messing with me.

i also switched to custome rom (Carbon) and have not had any complaint regarding the issue..still will confirm in sometime if the problem exist or not
Bumping an old thread ...
So my gf started complaining that she could barely hear me when I was using my Klipsch S4A headphones to talk--while in the car and in a quiet room. I was on CM10.1 at the time and I had read complaints from others with the same/similar issue on other ROMs, even stock/unrooted. I chalked it up to 4.2 and hoped 4.3 would fix it.
It appears that isn't the case. I just sacrificed root so I could flash a clean install of 4.3 (new bootloader and radio included) hoping it would at least mean I could have normal conversations with my gf again while the devs cook up CM10.2. How bummed am I to find out that the issue persists. I just called her from my office with my headset on and she said I "still sound far away." This is really frustrating. I never had this issue on my GNex.

I wish someone comes up with a solution for this.. I was hoping 4.3 would solve this issue also. Some say its cause of the noise reduction, isn't there anyway we could disable noise reduction?! I remembered I had that option on CM10 my i9300 but not on nexus 4 build.. This is really an issue for me since i always use headset for phone calls.. I was wondering if the original Nexus 4 headset would solve this issue.

What radio are you using? I changed to the .33/.84 hybrid here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412052 and callers can hear me much more clearly.

Hi guys,
i found 2 "solutions" which didnt work for Nexus 4:
1: typing *#*#3646633#*#* into the phone to enter the engineering mode. "Should" work for all Android, does not for Nexus 4
2: the App "MobileUncle". Does only work for MTK Chipsets (Nexus 4 has another one)
my question: is there something like the Engineering mode for the Nexus 4 ?
Same issue on Nexus 5
FYI, the nexus 5 has the low input volume gain when using 3.5mm headphones with inline mics. I don't understand what LGs problem is with 3.5mm connections or why it was never tested.
started a discussion on in here
Any solution yet???
I have the exact same Issue, Android 4.4.2 and the issue is not fixed weird that only Nexus 4 has it. I am like you trying to find an app or a way to work around the issue, tried to install other ROM using rom manager and phone when SLOW as heck so no idea how to fix it yet, loud speaker to every single call is not the way to go

Better sound in stock ROM, it's possible?

Hi, I have S8 Exynos version and would like to give a better sound to it. It's possible to improve sound quality without root?
Other issue about de sound that bothering me, it's the min. volume of the phone. When I'm listening to an WhatsApp audio, or even a common call, the minimum volume it still a lit bit loud to me. If anyone it's near me, the person can listen to it. Anyway to solve this without root too?
Thanks
I use Poweramp. It does enhance the music output significantly.
How you installed any app recently or the phone has been behaving like this ever since you bought it?

The sound issue is present ever since you bought the phone? Or you noticed it recently?
I am asking because I want to know if the root cause of this issue is due to manufacturing or developed after you have installed an app.

It's not an really issue, is just something that bother me because I don't have a good amplification and like I said, the minimum volume of audios in calls or whatsapp audios it's too loud
I compared with my friend's iPhone X and noticed immediaty the sound from the iPhone X blew my Galaxy S8 Active right away!
The iPhone X speaker has much fuller rich tone and bass. Galaxy S8 sounds like all tremble.
