Hello everyone!
I need to turn off the screen programmatically in Windows Mobile 6.0 using .NET Compact Framework - is it possible ?
Also it would be cool if I had possibility to turn on the screen programmatically using .NET also.
Thank`s in advance

take a look at examples using ExtEscapeSet and PowerPolicyNotify!

It really helped. Very good code examples. Thank you very much!

Does anyone have a VB.net CF app running on a SX-66

I can't get a basic app I have created using VB.net to run on my SX-66. In fact other .net compact framework apps I have gotten from other developers won't work either. I have tried a hard reset and started from scratch but I have had no luck getting the app or finding any answers. Cingular and Siemens both point at MS. I can't find crap from MS about this.
The app works fine on a Toshiba PPC but all it does is show the wait cursor momentarily then nothing, not even a error message on my SX-66. Mobile apps using the eVB runtime files work fine. It is just the .net compact framework app that is the problem.
Does anyone have a VB.net app working on a SX-66? If so maybe I can compare some files with you and track this issue down.
Thanks.

Camera API

Hi
Is anyone aware of a an API or better a wrapper for the Camera Functions?
The Integration of the Camera that comes with CF2.0 WIndows Mobile 5 SDK is not what I'm looking for because it still needs the user click to capture a photo.
I want to take photos every now and then when I'm not with my PDA
Anyhelp or hints is highly Appreciated! a HTC only solution would also do the job for me.

Hi
I found something nice - it is even with a C# Sample.
http://blogs.msdn.com/marcpe/archive/2006/03/03/542941.aspx?CommentPosted=true#commentmessage
And it works - tested on a breeze and a wizzard.
Only problem I'm to stupid to change the resolution.

[Android] Lock down user interface ?

Hello all,
I have been tasked to look into possible lock down of user interface for Android phones. Previously, we built custom mobile application for Windows Mobile and used SPB Kiosk Engine to perform lock down so that users can only run our application on windows mobile devices.
I would like to find out whether it is possible to perform similar lock down on Android Phones (limiting the functionalities) and start up with just our custom built android application. It would be best if there are existing lock down applications which can do this (similar to SPB Kiosk engine). If not, the only way would be to compile custom firmware ?
Hope anyone who has ideas of this topic can shed some light.
Thanks in advance!

Hello all,
did some research on the web and didn't manage to find anything regarding lock down on Android mobile phones. Any comments on whether this can be done at firmware level (e.g. compile custom Android firmware) ?
Thanks,
Zell

Hy and welcome to our forum,
what do you mean with lock down??? I cant follow you!
Greatz

Hello Mccoffein,
Lock down would mean to restrict the functionalities. E.g. we only want the Android mobile phone to run our program on start up and cannot access any other functions.
Other examples on PC will be windows based Internet Kiosks, which only allows users to surf Internet net, but does not expose other functionalities of Windows.
Cheers,
