Hey all, i was just trying to figure out, whats the best video player for the Evo? by best i mean supports the most codecs and gives the best experience? also, whats the best format for video on the evo?(highest quality, smoothest playback) and what are you guys using to convert said videos?(super, dvdRIP, etc)
yxPlayer
GREAT playback.
Handbrake will let you rip DVDs into your gallery to watch with the built in player (I advise this since it lets you export to HDMI by default!)
handbrake is an OSX only app is it not?

nopers, there is a linux and windows port
Snowfox software makes a few programs for video and audio tools. I played around with their dvd and total video converter last night and this morning. It had some decent results. It isn't perfect but its done a good job with converting divx or hd mkv files to files compatible with the audio and video specifications of android. I put in the video size of 800x480 and bumped up the video bitrate and adjusted the sampling and bitrate of audio and let the trial do its thing. Good results.
I also stumbled across a miro video converter. That program does a good job as well but basically does not have any settings to tweak. It has phone presets. I picked the one I thought had a high video resolution, nexus one, and let it do its thing.
I have been having a difficult time trying to get iphone and ipod presets to play good with handbrake as the encoder, but haven't had much luck yet. I am trying to get as good of quality as I can and these are the results I've gotten so far. I thought I would share this with you in case anyone might be wondering. Miro is free as in beer.

.mp4 or .3gp format with 320*240 resolution would do.
use any video converter like total video converter, format factory etc.
I personally use handbrake.
hmm i watch video in .mp4 format with higher resolution than 320x240
I think Wildfire can play video 480x320 and the same resolution can recorder, if I found the thread I post

don't forget that the best video bitrate that willy can handle without problem is 256KBs even if you use smaller resolution but your video bitrate is higher than 256KBs you would have some lags and pauses during playing as i testet the best frame rate for that was 25fram/sec mobo video player is better than others you can play FLV files with above conditions very smoothly.
