I've got a Hermes 200 (Vodafone) flashed to Schaps 4.31. It's working very nicely, but I want to get SIP calling, primarily over wifi. I have tried built it SIP, Octrotalk, and AGEphone, and all will connect incoming & outgoing calls, but disconnect instantly, so the call log shows the call at 0 sec. I am using Callcentric and am in the USA.
Thanks

I am connected to bt broadband I have set up my Internet & out going mail OK but I only recive incoming mail irregularly. I have typed in the incoming box POP.BTCONNECT.COM & also POP3.BTCONNECT.COM but with limited success any one in the same boat!!! Could anyone confirm the best method of pop for BT Broadband?
unless you have a computer connected to the network which run a mail server pulling your mails down as they come and let your xda get it from that insted of your ips's mail server then no
not sure what bt broadband is though
Is there a way to make GPRS automaticaly reconnect after placing or recieving call? Mine stays disconnected unless Explorer or Mail is trying to connect.
Not on my Jam. If GPRS was connected before the call, it will still be connected after a call (same as in any other mobile phone).
hey. I check my email with the outlook express feature (the same place where you get text messages, etc.) I have it setup to check my mail every hour, but after it checks for mail it stays connected to the GPRS feed, making me miss calls. is there an option I'm missing or reg tweak that automatically disconnects the GPRS after it connects and "send/receive" email?
Thanks,
Check this bit of freeware out - it sounds like what you're after. I have never had any problems with it.

i installed the program. i works well, accept it disconnects the GPRS 10 minutes after connecting to streaming audio. is it not working properly, or can the software not recognize streaming audio? everyime i want to listen i have to change the setting from "auto-disconnect if GPRS isn't in use" to "always leave gprs connected." Any suggestions?

Hi there!
I've bought a new SAMSUNG NOTE 2, shipped with Android 4.1. I like to make calls via WIFI & SIP. For that i am using the internal SIP-Client. The configuration looks like that:
Username: ******
Password: *******
Server: sip-server.local
Proxy: 10.0.0.1
Keep-Alive: always
Standard behaviour for outgoing calls is "Internet if connected to WIFI".
After dialing a number and press DIAL, the connection will be established. I can hear it ringing and the other partys phone is ringing. After i press "HANGUP" while in RINGING-State, the phone will not send BYE to the SIP-Server.
The SIP-Server is Asterisk and runs on my local network. I've started TCPDUMP to see what is going on. I can see the INVITE request and the Response for TRYING and RINGING, but the phone is not sending BYE when i press HANGUP.
When the Call is established, and i press HANGUP, client will send BYE.
So, HANGUP does only nothing while in RINGING state.
Is this a known bug, and is there a workaround?
Thanks,
Mike.
You can use the CSipSimple application available on Google play store. It supports stun, tls and srtp and works quite well with asterisk.
Ok, So I was impressed to see my new Vodafone UK S5 has an option under settings > call for Internet Calling.
This registers perfectly on my voip server, and most of the time calls work just fine.
The really annoying issue I have come across though is when your connection is less than perfect.
I have all power management options disabled, Download booster and Smart network switch are enabled.
Sometimes It seems the following happens...
Phone has 3/4G or wifi, VOIP account registers and recieves calls.
You then lose both wifi and 3/4g connectivity, even just briefly.
The voip account gets logged out, as would be expected.
You restore 3/4g or wifi connectivity.
VOIP calls no longer work.
Upon going back into Settings > Call > Internet Calling > Accounts,
This is displayed:
"[email protected]
Primary account. Still trying..."
While connected to wifi I have done a TCP dump, as well as from my VOIP server to analyse all traffic, and I can confirm that despite the message, the phone is NOT Still trying to connect. Literally NO traffic is being sent by the phone, or recieved by the SIP server.
To regain VOIP connection, you simply tap on the account to open the settings page, and immediately hit back.
"Saving account..." appears, and instantly the phone re-registers on the VOIP server.
My VOIP account is configured as transport type: TCP, and Send Keepalive: Always send.
My question is, Without rooting the device, How I can I make the phone try to reconnect more aggressively when the internet connection is back up.
I expect the phone to reconnect within 30 seconds of having a working internet connection, without needing to go through the process above.
Any suggestions?
