Possible GPRS problem?

hi guys n girls
ive just purchased an MDA Compact on a TMobile UK contract and im having some problems.... last night i tried to connect to the GPRS and it wouldnt connect, kept timing out on the connection and giving me an error... so i tried resetting the phone! it worked! connected straight away no problems.... so i put it dwn to a small glitch...maybe? until tonight its done it again! it wont connect to the GPRS andi ve had to reset the phone to get it goign again?
I use Bluetooth with ActiveSync and Bluetooth to my GPS receive for TomTom 5, apart from that the phone is pretty much standard
any ideas???

oh and it appears im using the the 1.12.00 WWE rom.... if that helps?

ok i think ive fixed my phone now
i used that Imate fix that someone posted and it "seems" to have worked..... for now!
installed patch, reset phone, connected to gprs, synced, check gprs, phone call, check gprs.... and this morning its still going!!

WM6 upgrade - then no network

I upgraded to WM6 artemis touchflo ROM. Worked fine initially then I lost the network. Is constantly searching.
Try Find Network and just searching
Try change Network selection to manual and get following message:
Network error
Cannot read settings from the network, Try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again.
Retry Cancel
Get the same error if I try Set Networks.
Can anybody help please ?

Have you tried doing a soft reset? (stylus in the hole)

I've tried soft reset, hard reset the lot. Still no joy

Can't think of any other good ideas off hand. Maybe try a reflash?

Why not try just re-flashing the radio first.

Thanx - re-flashed the radio but still the same problem. Is there anything else I can try please ?

I never thought I'd say this piece of CS crap, but have you checked the contact of the SIM card, try cleaning the SIM with a dry cloth.
Otherwise a re-flash of the ROM is probably the next best step.
Can you check the SIM works OK in a different phone?

Thanx - SIM works fine in another handset and have flashed back original T-Mobile ROM. Could it be anything to do with the WM6 ROM I used ?

Yes, If you desperately want Touchflo, then Tom's B&B 4 is imminent, his track record at ROM releases can't be faulted.

Sorry don't think my last post was very clear. Have flashed back to the original T-Mobile ROM and still same problem no networK

Sounds suspiciously like a hardware failure then.

what was the issue then, i am having the same issue with my orbit, and can not seem to find the problem? i reflashed all versions of the radios, and changed to all kinds of sims availabe on Rogers network in Canada, and the phone works fine from all features, except it does not conenct to the network??? when i do search the network, it reads all the towers available, but does not register on any network !!!
the first time i changed the sim worked like a charm for 30 min, and then the phone de-registrerd itself from the network, and i could not connect again. i could always get it to work for maybe an hour at the most everytime i change to a new sim card, but this is not a solution and a costy one

Magician / No Service

Hello every body,
as i see, many pepole have the same problem here, as i have too, for some issue no service could be found on Magician or what ever name it has, my own one worked fine for 2 years then stopped receiving service from operator, not stolen, as gift from a friend than travel too much, i give it to him to test it abroad, and it worked fine on some operator and not at all on other carrier, i have now a smartphone but can't leave it with out understanding what happend,
i have tried the last rom from cotulla,
tried rom upgrade, radio upgrade ....
finally i' got an idea, the problem apearseas i remember after switching gprs on from operation, and some times when the gprs can't be detected the divice worked fine back, and by testing, changing band and other network related stuff i finaly got a message that says to turn off the connection data to use the gsm network back,
i don't find a proper way to do it,
if some body would try this perhepse that's the real cause for this damn "No Service" message
PS, with wwe o4 from cotulla, the green light indicator blink again but the phone don't pass calls

hi, i have the same problem. I do the same things you did and i also changed the antenna with no resolution.
Anyone solve the problem?

unfortunetly we have to change the battery that's wath was told to me
i think it's not logique but the persone how told me that used to have the same trouble and by changing the bat every thing goes right for him
i'm living abround then to get a new bat it's a real chaleng then i leave it in wait for confirmation before asking some pal to bring me one

I have bad news....my new battery arrived (it is also more powerful than original 1800mAh) but phone still don't work...
i'm worry that there is nothing to do.......

Hi guys,
I need your help repairing my S100.
I was trying to sell it to a friend who would buy it if it worked with the sim card found in his Vodafone HSDPA/3G modem.Then he inserted the card, found network, then after a few minutes it performed a soft reset.
Then it said(where the rom version is)"bad radio".
Then I performed hard reset, when it said "No radio", then booted up.
Then after a few minutes, it got frozen.
Then I did a soft reset and got a red message"bad radio" and it won't boot.
It only boots up after hard reset, then it can be used as a PDA for a few minutes.Then freezes, then it will not boot again until the next hard reset.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem - tried to use different sim cards and different ROM's and nothing - no service at all - the phone just give an error :/ any idea's how to repair it ?

I had the same problem and accidentally fixed it.
Perhaps I was just lucky, but why not try switching to different SIM card, cleaning it, put it on different mobile phone, and put it back on magician.

i have trouble in my magician to...after upgrade rom and radio to 1,12...know my magician is cotulla wm 6.1, but cant make a call and sms...on startup no radio...somebody can help me please..?

Lost of conection problem...

Hey guys, I have i Hero for about 3 week and since i have it at leat twice a day i`m loosing conection with the sim card. I went bach to the shop (Meteor in Ireland) and i told them for my problems. The manager over there sad that all of the HTC Hero are very sensitive and when you hit them even a litle bit the lose conection with the sim card.
Does anybody els have that problem and is that another problem with the Hero?

i disscussed this problem in another thread few days back.. still not able to solve it thts why posting it here to get solution..
briefly, whenever im coming out from non-reception area like basement parking, subway or out of coverage area.. i hv to search network manually.. and phone comes with messege YOUR SIM CARD DOES NOT ALLOW TO REGISTER ON NETWORK..
I did research on net for two days n tried following things.. but no success...
-rebooting
-taking out battery
-toggle air plane mode
-new sim card
-factory reset
my phone is with WIND CANADA, it is stock x10i with 026 firmware
if theres no solution for this problem.. i would like to ask users from canada that can i use my x10i on other networks like rogers, fido, bell, telus etc?If yes, then in order to make it working on other networks what changes im supposed to do?
plz guys help or else i'll hv to buy another phone since this one isnt working..

Strange, have you tried contacting your provider?

Yup, try your SIM in someone elses phone... see what happens there too

ya i did, they changed my sim card worked untill i came home n parked my car undergrond.. it was same story again..

it works whn i put it in diff phone.. then it'll work in my phone too untill for some reason im going out of coverage eg. underground malls, parking , subway etc..
after that phone wont connect to network showing same messege.. basically i have to bring the sim back to the network in other phone and then transfer it to my phone.. its not possible everytime to do this thing when im out of coverage..
