Top (insert number) things you use the X1 for. - XPERIA X1 General

Yeah, it is that time again.
I haven't seen one of these threads in a while and since most of us have had our phones for several months, I'm curious to see what kind of usage we have here. After all, things change when most of the tinkering and tweaking is done.
Include as many as you wish. I have skipped calling and texting, because it is a phone after all, but feel free to post anything.
Here is mine:
1 - Browsing (stock Opera and SkyFire)
I do this daily and sometimes several times per day.
2 - RSS Feeds (SPB Insight ftw)
I can't imagine how I have lived before my daily news/sports/weather updates .
3 - MP3 Player (mostly Pocket Player and MortPlayer)
Almost every day. Especially when there is travelling/waiting/etc. involved.
4 - E-Book Reader (MS Reader)
At least a few times per week. Sometimes I don't read for a while, but then, I do it all week.
5 - Online Hexxagon!!! (SPB Online)
That game is absolutely addicting and I cannot stop playing it.

And the occasional browsing of some news sites.
(I don't have to take my lap top everywhere for work now).

I used to use it for everything that I phone can do.
Now I only use these types of features:
1) Text Messages
2) Phone Calls
3) Dictionary
4) Flashlight
5) Memo and Organizer
I'm not going to use it for entertainment anymore. I need to get a good GPA so I can get grants for my college education. I got a little spoiled during my first year in college.

Can you show me how to play java games and where to get those?

Of course. The ones I mentioned are from GAMELOFT. You can get them right there. Native-WVGA-Examples are Pro Golf 2010, Golf the Open 09, Wimbledon 2009, Roland Garros 09, Sonic Unleashed or SpiderMan Toxic City. Digital Chocolate also offers a few ones, e.g. Beach Games 12-pack.

10. Bragging rights - because I am the only one in my class with an X1 [just kidding]
11. Mirror - I have a screen protecter that is coloured such that it turns into a reflective surface when the screen is off.
I've had my X1 for slightly over 2 and a half months and I swear this phone has changed my life - in a good way.

Looks interesting.. I usually use Opera Mini for my RSS feeds but I'll definitely give this a shot.
what id like to know is if the software downloads the full article or snippet? I tried the spb insight software and it downloads a decent amount but i want a rss feed software which downloads ALL the articles from that feed.
If this does it or if there is any other application please let me know.
I installed yomomedia two days ago and I fell in love with the interface at once. It is was better than newsgator, which I used before. A lot more fingerfriendly. One thing that annoys me alot though is the weird behaviour of my Touch HD when I have autosync activated.
This is what happens:
autosync in ym is activated
my phone turns on every hour on the hour
stay on as long as it is supposed to when not being used (1 minute on batterie and forever on external power)
When I turn autosync off this behaviour seems to stop.
Anybody got any Idea how to fix this?
I would really hate to return to newsgator.

These are the apps that I consider a MUST have for my usage:
1.)Mvideo player - infinitely better than the stock video player and can display subtitles also comes with great folder management
2.) SMS backup and restore - to back up and restore my SMS inbox when I flash to a new ROM
3.)Opera Mobile - Something thats pretty much close to the functionality of a Safari browser, puts the stock andriod browser to shame!
Other apps already mentioned like G+, flashlight app, youtube app and ect!
Titanium Backup is a must... especially for the n00bz who are always begging for non-wipe versions of roms.
Other than that:
Astro File Manager
PowerAmp
RealVNC
Screen Off and Lock (I don't like to use the physical power button)
Tasker
WiFi File Manager
Screen Filter
QuickPic
MoboPlayer
The rest is not that important, but these are mandatory for me.
This belongs in the Themes & Apps section.

List your USAGE PATTERN WISE TOP 10 FAVORITE APPS on your NOTE

Although many of us have mentioned quite a few gr8 apps here, I thought its good for all of us if we can list our favorite apps for our NOTE in one thread so that we can enhance our usability by sharing our experience/links/resources!!!
IMPORTANT: As we all know, its is the CONSUMER BEHAVIOR (and optimizing the marketing mix around it!!) that determines the success/failure of a product, similarly the "FAVORITES" will always be USER DEPENDENT. Thus it would be NICE if we can have a mention of our "USAGE PATTERN" and then enlist our favorites.
I am sure we all can understand the potential benefit of such a listing to the members in general and of course the NOTE users {and potential developers } in particular!!!
So here we go...

I'm still going through the honeymoon stage, so I don't see my usage now as representative of what I'll eventually settle into. I want the Note to be my productivity assistant, and I have high hopes for the S-apps and SpeakToIt assistant, as well as Office and remote connectivity apps.
But that's 2012. As of now, these are my main apps:
1. Dolphin HD -- news, surfing, XDA
2. email -- gmail, yahoo, and RR
3. WinAmp -- via BT headset or earbuds w/ play button
4. Games -- GTAIII, Riptide, Fieldrunners, Earth and Legend, Angry Birds, Crayon Physics, Shadowgun, Shinerunner, PacMan, Sprinkle, NFL Pro 2012, Dungeon Hunters, and various trial OnLive games
5. texting, FB (don't do twitter)
6. movies/youtube faves -- NetFlix, Rockplayer
7. GPS -- Navigation app best performing
8. e-reader (Sherlock Holmes, PDFs, Google books)
9. musician apps -- Caustic, U-Loops, RD3, Jasuto, Chordbot, SPC

[Q] App recommendations ?

Hi all,
I'm looking forward to get my Tab 7.7 16Gt 3G/Wi-Fi and I like to get some app recommendations, free or non-free.
It will be mostly used while travelling so apps should work without Internet connection and in flight mode.
So far my list has:
- Kindle for Android
- Astro File Manager
- Sygic GPS or NAVIGON for Android
I want to:
- View photos
- Watch movies
- View PDF documents
- View/edit Word 2010 documents
- Play some games
As noted they have to be usable in flight mode.
Other must have apps ?
TIA

Some MUST HAVE apps for the Samsung 7.7:
The stock Gallery is good enough to view photos. File Expert is also an option.
VPlayer, MX Player, Dice Player can play almost any media files you throw at it including mkv files.
Polaris Office is an inbuild app to view or edit Word documents. You can get 3rd party apps like Quick Office Pro and Office Suite too.
For PDF: EzPDF, Repligo
Games: Angry bird is everyone's favorite, esp angry bird space. Pool 3D pro, Shadowgun, card games like solitaire.
Must have apps if your Phone is rooted:
Titanium Backup pro
Root Explorer
Superuser
Busybox
Ditch the Stock touchwiz launcher and install ADW launcher EX
^ agreed. Touchwiz sux.
You may also want to invest in a quality SD card (if you haven't already). Depending on video quality(Mbps)...expect about 300 min worth of movie storage or 500 min of music @ 13mbps. You can store more than this but you will degrade quality with lower transfer rates.
If you do decide to root your device, you can also save on precious battery life by adding a battery managment app like JuiceDefender.
I would recommend you to perform the following first before everything else:
1. Get root
2. Install GO Launcher HD (Beta) and make it as default
Some would recommend ADW Launcher EX, but I found GO Launcher HD (Not the EX one) more responsive with less memory footprint. You may compare before decide.
