I have one HTC Elf, and the mini-usb connector was damaged... I tried to open the cellphone to fix it, but I couldn't make a way to solder it correctly.
I was thinking of wiring the connector directly to the board, instead of soldering in it, but the copper trails in the region were damaged, and I can't follow to where they go in the circuit.
Do anyone have the schematic of this part of the phone?
A high-quality picture of the region of the mini-usb connector would be perfect too!

ok, the connector is broken.
I disassembled cover parts,
fixed connector,
I'm sure there is 5V inside (the connector inside I measure by voltagemeter) when I plug-in the external charger. The connector has 3 pins for GND and 3 pins for 5V and I'm sure there is volatage inside.
But the battery is not charging. O/S say the battery status as remained, but do to charge.
how to fix? what next to check?

You could check to see if the protection fuse has blown, if so you can bridge the circuit, if you search for charging or charge on the forum you will find pictures and methods.
the protection fuse just beside the battery? under small piece of white scotch tape?

yes, it was broken micro fuse, the one right beside the connector pins on motherboard.

Just came to remove my audio daughter board off my M500 to solder up the dodgy joints on it, and the whole bloody connector came off. I've removed the connector from the daughter board, but when attempting to resolder it, I managed to break the connector
So, I need a source of the little rectangular PCB connector (14 way, DIL) that attaches the ADB to the main board, so I can have another go Anyone know a source in the UK preferably?

I have a problem with charging and i guess also USB connection.
When i plug in a usb cord to the phone i have to hold the cord upwards for the phone to recognize its there and start charging.
I guess the connector on the phone is somehow damaged but i cant see any damage to it.
Is there a quick solution for this or can I replace the connector?
Maybe you have torn off your mikrousb connector from the board. If you have good soldering skills, then you could try to disassemble the phone, and re-solder the connectors contacts. If you have no such skills, then better take it to a repair center to do it for you. I suggest not to charge your phone before you repair it, because you can damage the charging circiut, or force the charging socket to come loose, and damage the circuit board.

So the micro-USB port on my Galaxy S3 got spoilt (details here).
I ordered a new port and tools, and I've opened up my phone to get the PCB out with help from disassembly videos on youtube. But I want to get some help (videos or just talk through) for unsoldering the current port and soldering the new one, coz it's tiny. I'm an electrical engineering junior at college, so I have experience soldering pins on breadboard chips, but nothing smaller than that. :/

I was waiting for somebody else to jump in, but since they didn't...
You can solder teeny-tiny things with non-optimal tools.
You just have to be careful.
I'd suggest that you get some old junk circuit board and try removing parts first.
You don't want to apply so much heat and pull so much that it pulls the copper off the board.
Solder wick or solder suckers can be helpful for removing excess solder.
For a connector, I add solder to make a bridge over the contacts, quickly dance the solder tip over all the contacts and lightly pry the connector with a small screwdriver.
Clean up the board removing excess solder.
Clean the board with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol.
Tin the new part with solder, then "smack" it to get rid of the excess.
By now there should almost be enough solder on both the connector and the board.
Position the connector and dance the soldering iron over the contacts.
Inspect with a good magnifier (if you have one).
I just did a 10 pin 1mm pitch ribbon connector this way.
Now I have a kernel console on my Nook.

Thank you for the reply. I still haven't fully resolved the problem. Cleaning the port out has returned charging abilitiy, but I can't connect the phone to a PC as a USB device still. So I might indeed need to use your guidelines above eventually. Thank you for them, and congrats on that Nook kernel console!
Friends the socket was removed and points also ... now the service is bad , i try to solder it but the hole small socket get broken and also the some points get removed , i try to put small metal inside big connector and connect the flex cable to that one and i solder cable from side the connector to the out side of flex cable but the signal is very bad any why to fix it without plug and flex cable as they get damaged ??? like soldering wires between area's ???
So either the motherboard or the USB board lost the antenna connector. Hopefully it's the USB board as you're going to have to replace the board based upon your description.
