Help! No Sound Problem...But Rings... - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Can anyone help me?
My Athena speakers doesn't play sounds anymore...
I tried reset, hard reset and even changing ROMs, but all failed....
But the strange thing is, when receiving a call, the speakers play the ringtone loud and clear! But the speakers only work during an incoming call
This may indicate that the hardware speakers are still ok...
The headset jack is working too...
My theory is that, the 3.5mm headset port hardware might be grounded, "fooling" the system that a headset is plugged in,thus disabling the external speakers...I hope so...
Is there a driver working when a headset is plugged in? Maybe disabling the driver might give way for the external speakers to work...
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance...

My speakers are now ok....
Strangely, my speakers are now ok....
Don't install/run Xguru...It's somehow the culprit....

Seriously broken sound!!

I have no idea what caused this (no drops recently) but would REALLY appreciate some help as my phone is really useless at the moment.
Presently, absolutely NO sound comes out of my phone at any point, via speakers or headphones, except during calls, where i can hear the other person but they cant hear me, i.e. microphone isnt functioning.
I have no idea what causes this, I have done a hard reset and inserted and removed headphones many times.
I should clarify that by absolutely no sound, I mean nothing on the phone works sound wise. You can in fact hear a really faint clicking/popping sound occasionally, but its grey noise, its not really quiet versions of what the sound is meant to be.
Many thanks if anyone can help!
I also made a brief voice recording on the phone and copied it to my PC to find it was blank, so microphone doesnt work outside of a call either.
.. summary: mic broken, speakers only work in a call.
Help?
Bump! Please?
try pairing with a bluetooth headset, you should be ok ... seems your sound driver is corrupt, did you by any chance increrase the preamp a lot in tcpmp and play sound for a while before experiencing this?
Cheers for the reply!
I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary like you mentioned, it just stopped working. I have done a hard reset, wouldnt that sort out a bad sound driver?
And, as far as I know I have no access to a bluetooth headset, why would that be any different anyway?
Is there any chance a rom reflash could help? I'm at last resorts here, I'm thinking about buying a palm!! (for budget reasons)
I will try it if it could work, trouble is the usb port is very dodgy, dis- and re-connects very often, so that could be dodgy for a reflash?
:'( !!
also mine is off!! just hearphone works, but built-in speakers are dead!
PLEASEEE help me!!
same problem occured to me...
if you were using a normal headset and after you plugged it out the sound started to break apart then do the following:
1-turn your media player on and start playing any audio file while volume is at MAX...
2-try to plug it in first and then test if the sound comes out of the headset normally...
3-then plug the heasdset out of the device (not all of it keep some of the jack inside the headset hole) do that in slow motion....yes...in slow motion and try to focus in making the sound goes out of the headset and the device at the sametime....
4-if you managed to make the sound BLOWS OUT from the speakers then the problem is because you plugged out the headset too quickly which generated a shock (actually i dont know if that's the accurate definition)
5- try to twist the headset jack left and right and plug it out gentely while the sound is still going out of the speakers...
and thats it...
hope your device will get well soon

can't hear the ring tone , microphone and speakerphone doesn't work

Hi there,
I am having some issue with my O2 Atom Exec external speaker.
When the phone rings:
- I can't hear the ring tone (phone and pda volume settings turned up to high)
When I pick up:
- microphone does not work
- phone speaker does not work
Actually microphone seems to no longer work same with external speaker. I try to play music and no sound comes out externally. When I use the combined stereo headphones and microphone, these work fine. I have tried a hard reset and looking into the Windows registry for some obscure volume settings but this did not resolve the problem.
Anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Please help,
Hi,
You have a problem with the headphone socket. what I would suggest is play a file in media player and put the headphone plug in halfway and gently move it around left to right. You will know when it's fixed because the sound will start coming out of the speakers. This is a known fault that has been around a long time.
Cheers.

Today I faced this problem, I tried to do everything.
Then I did exactly what you said, and this procedure
fixed my speakers. Thank you ,very very much for help.
We can see this thread below, talking about this problem.

Please help me!!
Thanks in advance.
any help
good morning
im not sure if it is really helpfull but on the htc universal there was a problem that sometimes when you unplug the headphones the connection in the headphonejack of the device still does not switch back, so the universal thinks the headphone is still connected and sends all audio output to the (not longer connected) headphone. some user have to disassemble their device (or send in for repair) other (like me) could fix the problem with pluging/unpluging the headphones one more time so the contact works as it should. this bug is one of the reasons why i changed to bluetooth headphones.
hope this helped a bit mad
This problem has been arround for years, not just on the Universal but on most (all?) HTC phones.
latest post I could find on the subject http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-General-Discussion/264524/Locked-in-headphonesmode/

help my phones earpeice dont work

my earpeice to mda dont work i opened to see if something was losse and nothing was
Does the audio work through the phone's speakers?
How about through bluetooth?
If neither works, it is not your ear-piece jack.
If that's no fix, try reset, or power off/back on again. Sometimes audio jack registry notifications just get buggy.

QTEK 9000 Sound error, headphone jack connect/disconnect doesn't help!

Hi!
I have a strange problem, even the service was not able to fix it. (They told me they want to change the motherboard. I'm not sure, they know this device very well.)
Sometimes, the audio goes away. Only the phone speaker is working, but no microphone, no pda speakers. If I connect the headset it does not have even any sound. The only sound is a very quiet click, instead of normal sounds.
I tried hard reset, soft reset, it doesn't help. I tried the headphone connect-disconnect trick, it doesn't seems to help.
Sometimes, for the 2nd or 3rd battery removal-inserting process the audio comes back, but it is not reliable. Does anybody have some solution?
I am thinking about some broken reset circuit, or a freezing sound chip... But these are only ideas...
I think I'm going to cry...
Peter
i had a similar problem in the past which went away and now is back again!!!. The first time i simply fiddled with the earphone socket. Now i hear sound ONLY through the wired ear plugs and nothing more. All sounds and notifications via the in-built external speakers have failed and i have tried a hard and soft reset without success. any help would be appreciated!
Yes, it sounds like a hardware problem, are you trying with a new rom?
