noob need help with everything from roms to plugins.

sup everyone i am so new to this. i just pickeed up a t-mobile mda and i have seen some of the posted today screens and i would like to up date my today screen i lil bit. ok so far this is what i know about my mda
Rom- 2.26.10.2 wwe
Rom date-6/7/06
Radio ver-02.25.11
Protocol ver-4.1.13.12
ExtRom ver-2.26.10.105
ok so far i have the weather from tonaya.com, magic button. but i would like the battery,cpu and memmory monitor. i have seen on i few today screens posted around . what i am really looking for is just whats the best things to start with and how to run them. do i have to change my rom. if so how do i back up my rom i have. do i have to manually go into my reg , i have tryed reading post after post and download after download with no luck. only able to running two apps ..so please someone out there help a rookie to this and i will give back. if someone knows what post will help please link me and please link them in order of how it should be done or importance. thank you

well first this post doesnt really belong in the upgrading forum... you are wanting help on how to use your device.. best advice for you is to play around with it and try what works best for you, every device is different.. and the first place you need to start looking is the wikki... so what being said:

hey i just read that whole post but it was no help . i thought i was doing a upgrade but where would i post my wizard upgrading questoins at if not here?

your post was more directed at today plugin's and app's... the upgrading in this board is directed at changing your roms completely... for apps and plugin's you will wanna use the wizard general board

If you want to flash a rom, read this guide. As for which rom is best for, everyone has different tastes, you have lite roms, and full roms (lots of apps included), then you have wm6.1 or wm6.5 as well as different versions of manila. Best advice would be scan first post of each thread and see which appeals to you then try a few out and make your own conclusion
Any future help on flashing should be posted in guide thread
Plenty of people have asked same question and get same result. Research, read & trial.
Can I also remind you to read the forum rules before creating new thread.

Gold Card Question

hello all,
so after several attemps to unbrick my Dopod 858 with no luck, my only oppertunity now would be to create a gold card. The thing that gets me is you cant do this unless you have a working WM....! If I did then I guess I would not need to unbrick my dopod and use that instead!!! I would really appreciate if anyone has a solution for me on how to create a gold card without a working WM. If not anyone in Germany near Hamburg who can help
I originally updated my Dopod through links on this website(Juststable v2), I followed all the instructions correctly and everything worked fine until my battery died !
Now only 4 colour screen ispl/spl 1.09.0001.
Anybody actuall thrown a dopod? if so how far?

Did you try to charge batt again to full and begin again the process ?
Then, try again to flash from SD card, it usually works.

1. Do not use HardSPL on the lower SPL's.
2. This is not the correct place to post this. This is the Development forum. This is not a development post. Moved.
3. There is another way. It requires Linux. Search for "Dream Goldcard". Just make sure you make a Herald goldcard when following the instructions.

if i read the heading correctly, the forum i originally posted is"Herald ROM development " with the sub info"This forum is only meant fro ROM issues and ROM development".
Therfore I guess I have a problem with installing my ROM hence I posted it there.
Moderators may be there to help and I fully understand that "old" members may rip out hairs finding things.
But ultimately we are all here to help each other, so Ivanmmj do please explain what my WM issue is or extend your forum explanations. it's not rocket science.

Don't take it the wrong way, it is not personal. The sub is a little misleading. It's meant to be to report issues within their particular ROM threads, not creating separate threads. I'm fully aware that we need an overhaul of the titles and descriptions. I'm working on that. (It's not something that Mods can change.) As it stands, the reason why it's so hard to search for answers is because no one ever posted things in the correct place, making it very hard to search in a particular area.
As far as you feeling that I didn't help you, I did help you. And when that didn't work, I told you what to search to make it work. The only other kind of help I could give you is to search FOR you. No one is going to have the links already ready to paste into this thread. Ultimately, the way a lot of questions get answered is by someone else doing the searching and answering the original poster.
Note: The main thread in XDA that showed you how to hardSPL warned you against using it on a phone that had an SPL lower than 4.0. Unfortunately, many of the threads that have appeared after (usually created by someone asking for directions) does not include this warning.

Help with New HTC Touch HD

I love the design and all, im new to this forum, my friend introduce to me here.. anyways im just wondering if anyone mind explaining how i could do this and upgrade my Brand New HTC Touch HD to this package i downloaded from that link above? my current Version OS is WM 6.1 do i have to update to some kind of WM 6.5 Before i can flash this Rom onto my mobile or wat? or can i already just flash it straight from WM 6.1 straight to this File?
can anyone help me with this...?

Everything you need is contained within the site, all the info you need to successfully flash your fone, add useful apps and tweak away to your hearts content.

Im new to the site have been looking on here for hours and on you tube to figure out how exactly i can put android on my hd2. I purchased the phone it already had the energy rom on there so someone please help me on what exactly i need to do or if i have to start over again.. thanks
