Or, Wingster helps streamline the proccess:
How to Flash: http://thewingster.com/howflashtp2rom.aspx
ROM's: http://thewingster.com/tp2gsmroms.aspx
check the sticky on Rhodium themes, applications and software. or just click on my sig where it says "skyler17" for some free apps also
If you're wanting to upgrade via an official ROM, T-Mobile hasn't provided a 6.5 ROM for the TP2 yet

Or is there anway to make this phone similar to the andriod OS?

this forum is the best source for apps. Android doesn't have as many programs but it seems so since they're all gathered in one place.

There's thousands of more apps, outside of Wingster.
Check out sites like 1800ppcfreeware.com (I think thats the right address)

It's not a "Wingster ROM".....
Wingster only provides access to the ROM's, in an easy to use format. I haven't created any of those ROM's. Soo.....
About your question, you can install ANY app developed for Windows Mobile. Just because you have a custom ROM, doesn't mean a thing, since it's still Windows Mobile Operating System.
So, visit http://www.1800pocketpc.com/ and get yourself some free awesome apps!!!

Because your icon will appear as "H" now.
3G = H.
So whenever you see the "H" up there, that means you're on the fast 3G. It's all right, it's just a different icon You still get as fast, or possibly faster download speeds.

you will never find the right answer, and we all already can see it is pretty tough to put an non android phone with a fully working android? So far, it is pretty impossible. Why would you putting high hope with a wm phone to be ported with android? this will not be a good factor at all for choosing a phone? my 2 cents.
If I read the signs right, there will bei a Android Version of the Leo in early 2010.
Maybe there is a change to flash between the two OS.
On the other Hand this would mean HTC didnt give an capactive Display to the Leo for being ready for Windows Mobile 7 but for being able to sell it as Android Device aswell.

Hello everyone!
I had a question to ask ...
Some time ago I saw the dualboot windows-android htc available for some.
is also available on HD2?
thanks

i think you can install the dual.root but there is no version of android itself to run on htc hd 2, as i assume.

if they mange to port it yes, ideally it would have a dual boot where you can chose what you want too boot when you turn on the phone.. that would be really nice

Yes, what he said. You can READ about the progress they have made, but please no posts like:
'Can't you just use the Android from Nexus One?'... The Developers are smart people. So to be honest, there is probably NOTHING you can teach them. Just let them to their job. It is harder then you guys think, so this could take a while.
Enjoy your HD2 as it is. The main reason I want Android is for the appstore. But probably tomorrow the Marketplace will get an update, that allows you to switch regions, install on SD card, and makes it easier for Developers to make apps. Let's hope the Marketplace start getting better within the next months!
there is no android version for htc hd2 i have tried other versions installing on my device but it did not work..... i think people are working on it hopefully sooner or later we will get it.....
Maybe never !!!
thank you guys and sorry.
Hey I am new to flashing. I have changed the roms on g1's, and on the nexus one per different youtube vidoes and stuff i have read in this forum.
Yesterday i purchased the HD2 and to my horror found out that it was running on Windows Mobile (WTF). So i have been loking around and I saw that in the past the forum has been able to get Touch Pro 2 that run on WM6.5 to dual boot into android.
So I am hoping that the same can be done with the HD2. So is the HSPL2 listed in this forum the beginning steps to this process or what? Has anyone yet setup the HD2 to run on android?
I know this is wordy but I just want to make it understood that I am new and I want to learn and that I have the desire to get android on my HD2.
thanks any suggested reading is welcome as the steps to get android on this awesome phone that HTC FUBAR'd with WM6.5
The HD2 cannot run android at this time.

No, it's not quite there at this time. However, while I understand your opinion, I don't think HTC "FUBAR'd" at all. I've had a few Android devices and this phone is AMAZING, even with WM.
this has been discussed already at length.. if you look in the ROMS section of the forum you'll find it ..
And it is NOT going to happen soon..
Android on the HD2 will be amazing! Hopefully they can get it ported by summer to compete with the HTC EVO.

...this is not true,
There is an engineer at the local Tmobile call center dual booting Android and winmo. He runs Android off of the card itself. The phone that is dual booting is at the kiosk at the LaPlaza mall in Mcallen TX and has been used as their demo phone.
How is he doing it? I have no idea, but hes told myself and a Tmobile sales buddy that he'll help us out with it.
So, you purchased the phone without realizing its a WM phone, and have the balls to complain, all because you didnt read, and now are asking if you can put android on it...lazy much?
I suppose you want someone to flash it for you too, or better yet start another thread asking how to do that...
Didn't you see the windows mobile on the box...

You're saying he's booting android on a hd2? I doubt it. Are you sure its not a TP2? There is an andriod port for the TP2.
I'm not sure how you purchased the phone without knowing the underlying OS, but I'm guessing you bought it in the US for Tmobile. If that is the case, and I'm guessing it is, then you can't flash any ROMs for it yet because of the different SPL.

I seriously doubt this. Maybe you had it confused with an HD or a TP2, but I doubt xda wouldn't know about this...especially since it's most likely to originate here. A picture to prove this would be great, but I don't expect it.

I would just like to thank everyone that replied. I guess i just need to wait a bit longer for the xda big brains to resolve this issue. I just thought that it would have been a simpler thing to do since the HD2 in UK had been flashed to run android. I have plenty on time and money so I can buy another device and wait.

News to me! I've seen it running on other devices, but even then it's beta, with various functionality still unavailable, WIFI etc.
If you wanted Android, a little research before hand should and would have been wise, i.e. waiting for the EVO to be released.
I like WinMo 6.5. It may not be as pretty as Android or iPhone OS (without the Sense gui which is quite lovely imho) but it's a very versatile and an incredibly powerful tool in the hands of the right user. If you're in a business environment, using Microsoft equipment, exchange servers etc, there is not an more efficient handheld device to carry in you pocket (again, imho).
Dear xda-Community
I want to ask you if theres a possibility to use Whatsapp on my HTC touch hd, for example if i get android on it or a newer windows mobile version. I would be very thankful if you could tell me the best i should do now because i have no idea and after reading severals of threads i still have no idea of this subject.
Thanks for your attention :good:

Not for WM6.x. Don't think it will ever be - it is no longer a mainstream OS for phones.
