Does anyone know if there is a way to make the HSDPA "H" icon appear on the screen? I know the T-Mobile Rom only lets us see the generic "3G" icon. Is this possible, or are we gonna have to wait for someone to make de-branded/cooked rom? Thanks in advance.

Hey. I own an Indian Diamond. I was just wondering if i could change the Edge icon on the taskbar to any other icon of my choice.
For instance i wanted to change it to 3G icon just so that i can show off.

So i've been seeing on a few threads with title bar icons that include icons for non-active data. when does that occur? is that for just CDMA or does that happen on GSM as well?

O thats when you are not conected to the internet(no data)..(your calling still works)... it should work with CDMA and GSM.
not sure about there cabs but give it a try

Hello,
I was on FroydVillain and when I get on CM6 I noticed that the H icon (for HSDPA network) was not displayed on HSDPA Networks. Only the 3G icon was.
When I unzip framework-res.apk, I find :
stat_sys_data_connected_h.png
stat_sys_data_connected_3g.png
So, there are the pictures, but I was thinking, how to force "H" to display ? I suppose there is another file to modify but I don't know wich one.
If anyone can help me...

I'm aware that the stock HTC G2 ROM (with OTA update) does not distinguish the difference between UMTS(3G) and HSDPA/HSPA+(4G). Both signals show up as an "H" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. I am also aware that several ROMs (like CyanogenMod and Sense-based ROMs) do show this difference. I was wondering if there is anyway to make the 3G icon show up during UMTS and H icon show up only during HSDPA?
A few notes to keep in mind:
This ROM has no "SystemUI.apk" file
The "framework-res.apk" file DOES have both the 3G icon and H icon in it's drawable-hdpi folder
The "framework-res.apk" file DOES have the "disguish HSPA" setting set to "true" in the "bools.xml" file
This ROM is unmodded so I believe it is odexed by default
So knowing the above, this must mean there is some other file or setting somewhere that is overriding the default to show 3G with UMTS and show H with HSDPA. If anyone knows what can be done to "reroute" the 3G icon to show up during UMTS, any help to set this up would be greatly appreciated.
