Icons folder in gallery - myTouch 3G, Magic General

For some reason a new folder popped up in my gallery called icons with what seem to be google maps icons. I can't find it on my sdcard and I would like to delete/hide it from the gallery.
Does anyone know how?
Thanks.

gallery question - icons appearing in there??

Hi guys,
When opening the gallery I get following folders:
- all pictures
- all videos
- 100MEDIA
- drawable
- VIDEO
Now the "drawable" folder seems to contain icons (from quickcalendar I think) so I'm not interested to see those... these icons are also included in the "all pictures" folder
Is there a way that I can get that out the gallery and the "all pictures" folder?
If not, how can I create a shortcut only to the 100MEDIA folder on my homescreen so I only see the real pictures?
Thanks
B

Few things I can't figure out how to do with my HD2

1. is it possible to have a wallpaper changer? could you recommend me the right app\link?
2. is it possible to have games in our quicklinks? or do we have to go to startmenu?
3. in games ive made subfolders for strategy , role playing etc.. how can i put icons on those folders?
4. when i click albums quicklinks, it brings up camerashots and says no photos or videos found, on bottom left side i have the options to view albums, and then it shows all albums on my phone. is there away for me when on homescreen and select albums it will show me all albums immediatelly?
thank you.
You can put games in the Quicklinks. The phone came with Guitar Hero in the quicklinks.
i realize that.. i mean the folder games. sorry
can i put the folder games in the quicklinks?
anyone have any tips for me please?
ive come up with another thing that annoys me about my layout.. maybe there's a workaround someone knows?
when going into albums storage card it shows all the folders on my storage card for images.. is there away for it to show them like a tree? meaning not show all subfolders right away? i have a folder in my storage card named wallpapers, and inside that are 15 folders, (portrait.landscape, high res. etc..) when i open albums they all show up.. i'd like it to just show wallpapers then IF I CHOSE wallpapers then it would show the subfolders.
Thanks

What do you mean by wallpaper-changer? You can adjust your wallpaper if you go on settings-tab and then on personalize.
If you want to customize your icons, use this app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567080
and search for custom icons in themes / apps area.
wallpaper changer - i had a SPV C550(HTC) and there was a proggy for changing the homescreen wallpaper every 10,30 seconds etc.. so curious if anyone has found the similiar thing for there htc.. where it would change the homescreen wallpaper every 10, 30 seconds or minute. but when backlight turns off the changer would stop of course.
thanks for icon changer info
any tip son the albums questions?

No I dont know how to show all your albums just by clicking on the quicklink, but you can navigate to your favorite album and hit the right softkey. There you can choose "set album as favorite". Now, when you click on the quicklink, it will allways show up your defined album instead of "no albums found".

[Q] Custom icons for third party apps in MIUI?

I've been wondering if there's a way to add custom icons for third party apps in MIUI ROM. I know you can change icons of applications by opening the .apk and replacing the icon file inside but MIUI adds its own background for third party apps' icons. So my question is, how can I prevent MIUI from doing that?
The default icons seem to be located in the farmework-res.apk inside "drawable-hdpi-finger" folder. I tried adding new icons there and naming them to "icon_handcent.png" or "icon_handcent_sms.png" etc. but this didn't work.
And just to be clear I don't want any widgets like Desktop Visualizer or BetterCut to make new shortcuts. All of those apps make the new shortcuts as widgets and therefore they can't be added in the dockbar or inside folders.
Thanks in advance

I recon that if you create an icon that is exactly the same size as MIUI makes its icons then you wont be able to see the background it puts behind it.
What happens if you make an app's icon a black square that fills the whole png? Does it obscure any MIUI backgrounds?
ive been trying to add icons to this folder too but not had any luck. Im guessing it is contained in an xml telling the launcher to use those icons in the framework.res instead of the ones inside the apk itself.
Ive looked through a load of xmls in launcher and in framework but cant seem to find it anywhere.
On a side note i have read over on droidforums that by changing the icon for the apk contained in data/system/customized_icons then this will display the new icon of your choosing. So instead of placing your icon in the drawable_hdpi_finger folder, place them in there.

data/system/customized_icons
look here guys ^^^^^^^^
you will find all the miui generated 3rd party icons will be in there. Try replacing those (may need to wipe cache to apply, not sure)
and fyi the way miui makes icons is the same as iphone now. It uses icon_mask to limit the drawable size of the original icon, then applyies it on icon_pattern on top of icon_background, and finally places icon_frame over top of it all. all those files are found in framewrok-res.apk inside the drawable-hdpi finger folder
im trying to change the main icons not the customized ones. is there a folder for that? like settings and gallery icons.

Yes, in framework-res.apk there is a folder called drawable-hdpi-finger. All system apps have their icon in there. If you place your new icons in there then they will then be changed on the main screen.
What i still havent worked out is how to add icons in there for other apps such as handcent or dialerone.
i think the default_workspace.xml would need the app and package adding to it but i laso think there would be another step somewhere, not tried it yet.
wheres the framwork-res.apk located?
Is there a way to completely avoid this resize?

Is that the reason why MIUI resize the 3rd party app inside data/system/custom icons??
Is there a way to completely avoid this resize?
I have overwritten the background, for example, and now I have no unwanted background.
I can decide for the border, remove it the same.
But overwrite the icon_mask seems do not change the MIUI resizeing.
What have I to do?
Thank you in advance, to everybody who would help

I struggle finding this folder. Where is it?
I got this folder "system/customize" but no icons there. The "data" folder is empty.
Help please :3

How did you manage to overwrite the background? I found the customized_icons folder but just can't find the icon_background or icon_frame files on my system.
Help appreciated.

Wallpaper question

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a folder to show up in the wallpapers menu? Or a way to add images to the folder that already displays there?
Only way is through Gallery.

App Drawer Folder vs Homescreen Folder

Hi all,
I have created some folders in the app drawer.
I've put these folders on my homescreen and was wondering if there was a way where I could put more apps into an existing app drawer folder and have it reflect the changes on my homescreen folder.
Ex. a Games folder in the app drawer and on the homescreen. Download a new game, put in app drawer folder - is there a way for it to show up on my homescreen folder?
Thank you!
