I have just got a Sony XP1 and when I go to type a text message, I don't have the option to use the Phone Keypad as an input method????!!!
This can't be right??
Can anyone help????
Can anyone please tell me how to get the touch screen phone keypad on for text inputting? Please?????
I'm not sure what you want to know?
How to use the phone keypad to enter a message, ie. the number keys on the dialer? Or to use the touch screen keyboard?
Touch whatever symbol is displayed at the bottom of the screen in the middle, if it doesn't bring the keyboard up touch the triangle, and change the input to keyboard.
(Get ready for some flaming for not searching for your answer before asking, plenty here don't take too kindly to noobs. They'll bash you without actually offering help, have to search before asking).

When you are creating a message or a note, and you use the touch keypad as the input (whether using the touch screen or hardware keypad while TOUCH KEYPAD is selected as the input type) the letters are highlighted when you create a message, but if you text fast, and press space, your previously inputted word will dissapear. Is there anyway to stop it from doing this?
Trying selecting the keyboad layout entry and use the hardware keypad, this does not appear.
Any help on this?
Hi All,
I am a newbie to I have a htc touch. I am trying to install Pocket CM keypad on my phone. I downloaded the .cab file from the website and i copied it to my phone using activesync. When i click on that cab file I just get a message Pocket CM installation unsuccessful.
Please let me how to install it. Also i want to install the contact on my phone
Also can someone suggest which is the best keypad software I can install. Also what is the software I have to install to switch the phone from potrait mode landscape mode and vice versa
Best input soft - EzInput
Screen rotation software - Windows Mobile Settings -> |System| -> Screen -> Landscape or tap screen rotation icon on HTC Home Launcher tab.
Thanks for that input. But that will permanently change the screen to landscape mode. I want it only on need basis. That is why I posted.
Besides In my phone i have two keypads. One is touch keypad and another touch keyboard.
The problem is most of the times when not reqd "touch keyboard" which is qwerty shows up.
When i want to type a message or a document then only "touch keypad" shows up.
This is highly irritating. Can somebody help me how to get around this. I want to use the qwerty keyboard for typing messages and working with doc.
I have been reading in the website that it is possible to have the qwerty keyboard working with messaging or while typing email
Can some body please tell me how to enable/disable the 20 key keypad and enable the touch keyboard when reqd.
Please please post a reply
I tried the work around of setting the registry key. but now i am having other problems when i press the green button the call keypad does not come. I also cannot press the button 1 to rotate the screen.
Now I have changed the registry key back now. Now I am back to square 1. The two key touch keypad appears for messaging or email. But i cant get the qwerty keypad.
Can some one point me to the fix for the same please. so that i can use the touch keyboard for messaging.
Many thanks in advance
Man, try EzInput. It looks better, works better and touch keypad doesn't switch to qwerty in some apps - you can choose which do you want! Touch keypad OR qwerty. I'm using it 'cause this switching freaked me a lot and now it's OK with EzInput
Can you please point me to the ezinput cab file and how to install it please. Many thanks in advance

This is the one I'm using
I have a Diamond with BsB6.5Q ROM.
Hi there, don't know if this is a ROM issue or a WM6.5 issue. I use the Compact QWERTY that is supplied in this ROM - I prefer to use the "phone keypad" style of keyboard. As I do 95% of my texts in the native Welsh language, I keep T9 switched off (there is no such feature in Welsh). However, when I write a text message in Welsh sometimes the spacebar won't work - it simply won't let me put a space there - I have to press 'enter' then 'backspace' to remove the restriction. This is not a screen sensitivity issue, because the 'shadow' appears above the spacebar to signify that it has been pressed. This problem doesn't arise when writing English texts, so I'm assuming that the problem occurs because the phone is trying to be clever and trying to predict that there shouldn't be a space after a certain letter.
I've looked through the settings and I can't find anything to switch this off. Any ideas?
Also, when writing, I would really like to be able to move the cursor backwards and forwards through the text, say if I want to correct an earlier error. Having to press the desired location with my finger is not good enough, because I need three or four attempts to get it right due to being the owner of a large thumb. I was then thinking about the Diamond's scroll wheel - this would be ideal for the job. Is there any way use that to scroll, i.e. anti-clockwise to move cursor to the left, clockwise to move right?
Thanks
Right, please ignore my last paragraph above - I completely forgot about the up/down/left/right buttons around the scroll wheel. The Left/Right buttons do exactly what I want.
Now, all I want is a fix for my keyboard problem (1st paragraph). It only happens for some words, and when it happens I cannot type any of the punctuation characters - I can only continue typing letters. Also when this happens the word (or most of it) is underlined. I don't understand why the word that's currently being typed would need to be underlined. It seems like parts of T9 is still on, even in ABC mode.
Any ideas?
I just got Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 windows mobile 6.5. The only options it gives me for text input are full qwerty, compact qwerty and phone keypad. I found transcriber in the windows directory & am able to use it. However, there used to be something called "keyboard" which I really liked and I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me. Thanks for your help.
Hey,
When you are in your text field at the bottom of the screen you should see a keyboard icon. I know on 6.1 it is between your two reply and menu I believe in 6.5 it so n the side.
When you click it, it opens your keyboard then there should be a little arrow beside that icon click on the arrow.
This should give you the options of phone keypad, Full QWERTY and keyboard. under those will be other input methods which have transcriber keyboard, letter recognizer and block recognizer.
If some things arnt there then sprint may of had them removed and you might want to look on the forms to find a CAB for a new keyboard.
thanks for the help. i guess sprint did remove them, because they just aren't there. does anyone know of a cab file that would restore them?
I suspect someone asked this somewhere in this forum, but I couldn't find it. I like the swype keyboard, but I really miss the voice to text available in any input field like I have on my current phone (Aria) and the Genius button is a poor substitute.
It's already on the phone. long press inside of a text field and press change input method then change to touch input.
