Uninstall keyboards how? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I have the newest energy rom and I would like to install this keyboard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460872
But how do I get rid of the keyboards that is already in the rom?

You cant get rid of the keyboards that were cooked into the rom, you can install others ontop of them tho

I have installed the keyboards I linked too, but I can't get the phonekeyboard to work, the one where there is abc on one key and so on. I still only have the keyboards that went with the rom. The only difference after install is the layout of one of the keyboards. And I can't find where to change the languages anywhere.

Sounds like you're using WM6.5. To change the keyboard layout or language - look here.

I could change the language, and I could also choose phone keyboard, but when entering sms there is still only full quaery (or what it's called)

Touch keboard always qwerty

I have the HTC Touch keyboard 1.0 it's great but I'd like to have the qwerty keyboard all the time, because in certain apps shows the qw er... and in others the full keyboard!! Any ideas???
I know maybe the answer it's in another thread but I have search and search and nothing!! Please
i cant believe that u used the search and u didnt find any.
anyways search for pcm keyboard it is a free full qwerty keyboard.
oh my bad, i forgot u have already "Searched" ... so here is the link for that keyboard http://pocketcm.com/keyboard2.php
I like EzInput, it's HTC's SIP pack. It replaces Elf default keyboards (qw er and abc def) with newer versions of them and installs finger-friendly qwerty keyboard.

[THE] Black Diamond keyboards - whc's SM multilanguage added!

Hey guys,
I inversed colours of keyboard and dialer.
Copy the files to the device, from there to Windows folder, they're protected so I used Total Commander.
If there's anyone who would like keyboards like this but blue or red or whatever, tell me and I will do it for you or tell you how to do it.
Black original keyboards (You have to have original version installed) (without full qwerty):
http://uploading.com/files/HO87HZFT/Black Diamond keyboards.zip.html
http://rapidshare.com/files/197643363/Black_Diamond_keyboards.zip.html
I made also whc's small keyboard, including full qwerty, symbols and numbers. Works fine on my Diamond, all languages should work. I edited files from the newest version, but I don't think you'll get any problem on older version.
How to uninstall (get back to whc's grey SM):
Launch uninstall cab - on the list of programs you'll got this "program" or:
Uninstall Black whc keyboard like a normal program and install whc's keyboard again or:
Install whc's keyboard
I think it's best to launch uninstall cab, you'll have two more programs on program list but it won't take any memory.
These methods won't uninstall whc's SM, only turn from black back to grey.
It seems to be impossible to change font colour in full qwerty, so I had to make it lighter :/
Incoming: Update for original (full qwerty), whc's stock keyboard & after that whc's hd.
If I missed something, let me know.
Can you do all the keyboard I use full qwerty
This is great !!! I LOVE THIS !!!
Only 1 problem it dont work on my diamond :-(
Full keyboard is almost ready but I think I will have to make it lighter a bit to make those black letters more visible.
Dude! Awesome! Now I'm waiting on full qwerty and landscape qwerty.
Any plans on making this for the Touch Diamond Small keyboard? The one from the HTC Fuze.
wow thanx cant wait for the swedish keyboard what about the telephone pad keyboard
do you mind making a phone keyboard?
Nice! I can't wait for the Spanish version
you guys can call me a chicken, BUT, is the swedish version bulletproof? does it really work as suposed to? on ROM 203SWE ?
I've had enough problams making the damn KB black alraedy. so i just want some insurance. and reliable feedbacks

I think these keyboards should work on all ROMs.
I think U converted wrong files in Dialpad. ... You should convert Assets_dialer_Normal.bmp and Assets_Dialer_Pressed.bmp because those files U gave in dialpad don`t change anything ...
wondering one thing im using whc 1.6 swe keyboard this will work on all ?
If you have any different keyboard installed instead of the original, it won't change its colours but you will have original keyboard with inversed colours.
hmm strange,
I copied the files in the Swedish folder.
but ut never asked me to replace existing files.
and after my reboot, only the 123 and T9 buttons are black the others are still the same
can it be because my buttons are named differently?
Which keyboard do you use? This is swedish version of mini qwerty, maybe you use phone keyboard?
i use phone keyboard too think you can make a black one of that please ? tack så mycket
I think I will post it tomorrow. But tell me, do you have any special swedish characters on phone keyboard?

WATCH: Big Full/Semi Qwerty installation HAZARD

The semi-qwerty keyboard cab file is available if you google it. However after installing it, I realize the accent key on my physical keyboard does not work anymore.
This is the answer I got on the other forum:
can't be help, because the key actions are defined according to the keyboard layout, and the default layout which includes the accent key is being overwritten by the cab file. You probably can revert back to stock keyboard layout and the semi-qwerty/full-qwerty/phonepad SIP, but you probably will lose the T9 function.
alternatively, use the symbol key to type the accent characters.
Does someone knows how to solve this problem so both Full/Semi Qwerty and physical keyboard work together.. especially cause i'm using Croatian letters čćšđž
THX
I just realized I have the same problem. Maybe someone can help us have both accent letters and Touch HD virtual keyboard...
Is this only registry problem or maybe have to change some dll? anybody?
Up! Maybe someone has an idea.
nothing to do?
blackstone keyboard is the best but we wan't to resolve the accent issue...please help!!
nothing?
You could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479464
Doesn't mess with the àü key.
Ok, I tried that keyboard, but it doesn't restore the accent key functionality. Maybe after a hard reset, but I wanted to avoid it.
Same problem here. Blackstone keyboard does my "au" hardware key unuseful - it dos not work.
Also T9 does not work with hardware keyboard.
I think HR is the only way for me - and you at this moment
Would SPB Keyboard 4.1 work without messing up the accent button? Is it any good?
I have the same problem, but with the Touch Diamond 2 keybord. It's really annoying
I had to lose all my data to update the firmware. After that I tried the SPB Keyboard and it's really good. It has layouts for a lot of languages and the accent key works.
ive used version 1 of this and it did not mess with my keyboard. this is the new version that just came out. i havent tried it because version 1 is working good enough for me.

Script to disable All SIPs except WM Keyboard

Maybe some of you are experiencing the difficulty to remove the SIPs that comes with the cooked roms that you don't want to use. One of the keyboard that I don't like to use is EZInput.
In some cooked roms, even after you select the default keyboard to the new keyboard (e.g. PCMKeyboard or Finger Keyboard) you had installed, it will not default to it after SR or in some cases, can't even be selected using the built in keyboard selector.
I have created a mortscript that will remove all the registry keys of all the SIPSs and leaving it with only the WM keyboard.
1. Run the attached mortscript.
2. Install your favorite keyboard.
3. Install default_IM_WM5.cab.
4. Run default_IM_WM5.cab. and select your favorite keyboard.
5. SR.
PS:
Default_IM_WM5.cab is not made by me. I'm just attaching it here for your convenience. Appreciation to the author.

1. this seemed to run, and I had no soft keyboard.
2. FKB 2.1 Giannis would not install. It said, "Unsuccesful". A reboot/reinstall did not help.
I found after reboot, reintalling FKB, I get "an unexpected error has occured in fngkbdconfig.exe"

The keyboard is running now even though there is some strange error at the end of the installation after the configuration. It seems to be working fine.
I'll check the FBK thread to see if I can find out what is going on and report back.

Why don't you give it a try and let us know? So far, I had no need to use this script since I started using cooked 6.5 and 6.5.3 roms. SIP Change does it well.
installed the script, chose FingKeyb in Default_IM and now i get blank screen right after SR , windows doesn't boot (event htc splash screen doesn't appear). hard reset...

[Q] How do I change the keyboard color?

I am new to these forums and did a search but didn't find anything.
I am trying to change the color of the keys on the keyboard to be all black. Currently, the keys are all white (with the exception of the backspace, next, and a few others), but my sister has a 3G Slide and her on screen keyboard has all the keys as black and I love the look of it. Is there a way to change the color of the keys? I would have thought it would be an option under Language and Keyboard, but I was unable to find it.
By the way, if it matters, my phone is rooted.
Thanks for the help.
There is no way to customize the default keyboard, but if you hit this link, you can download the modded version of the HTC keyboard, and customize it to your liking.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654179
You can also try Smart Keyboard Pro. It has skins you can download from their forum.
Thanks. I played around with that and was able to create a keyboard I liked. Unfortunately, I should have mentioned that I want to continue using Swype so I don't think that site will let me customize my Swype keyboard.
The Swype beta has reopened, and if you sign up and download the updated version of Swype, it should be the darker theme you are used to. I think the white verson was only for the MT4G pre-installed version.
