My phone is not experiencing any problems, however, I have noticed that when I go into the recovery utility, at the very bottom, it says " E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command"
Does anyone know what this means. Perhaps my recovery is corrupt or something.
When I installed Rosie originally, it came with a ROM and a recovery.img. I didn't know what to do with the .img so I did nothing.
I guess what I am asking is :
1. Is this a problem?
2. How could I fix it.
3. What exactly is a recovery....why use if you can just wipe or reinstall?
hi
yes how come it says E; cant open cache recovery command and it says E; cant open sdcard update.zip no such file or directory

hi i have just rooted my defy(red lens) i have also installed 2nd int1.9
and bootmenu 1.0.4with CWM 5.0.3.1 with modules...also i have stock 2.2 froyo installed
now i am not able to multiboot it.
if i install defy_multiboot_0.4 and paste fsimages with all the three files, and them goto recovery->latest recovery... it shows errors like
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
and if i try to install cm9 it installs fine without any error...but when booting into 2nd-boot the phone stucks at M logo.
now if i install the multiboot 0.5.5 and copy the files in /multiboot/CM9/
and then go to boot->2nd boot no names are shown... i then go to Recovery(CWM) even then no names are shown .....
Now could anyone please help me in installing stock(motorola froyo)+cm9(froyo)as virtual...
Thanks in advance.

(( SOLVED ))
First thing you should do, is to backup your EFS if you still have it.
I had mine but it wasn't mounting properly.
In order to back it up, please download terminal emulator on a rooted device and follow this video
I would try to back it up, even if you think the efs is messed up... worst case scenario is you end up where you started, not worse off.

Your device needs to be rooted.
1.) Download SDK tools here - Scroll down to the bottom and "Get just the command line tools"
2.)Install TWRP , Find your device, download the .tar and flash it using ODIN
Boot in to recovery, in TWRP you want to go to mount, make sure system, esf are checked.
3. If you installed SDK tools, go to c:\android tools\SDK tools. hold shift and right click on the area inside the folder and select run command line from here.
4.) In cmd, type
Code:
ADB devices
ADB Shell
SU
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p10
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p10 /efs
5.) You should be good!!!
