Hello, I've not found anywhere answer to my question so I ask here. Don't you know any 100% working Java Virtual Machine to set on Windows Mobile 6 Emulator (and the best on free commercial license)?
Soft (emulator) I use is from:
http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=38c46aa8-1dd7-426f-a913-4f370a65a582&displaylang=en
Another interesting thing is that I downloaded and launched WM 5 Emulator and without any problem installed JBed platform. Unfortunatelly WM 6 doesn't allow me to launch any midlet (using JBed). It throws:
Code:
The file 'jbed' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
Myisafu brakes installation process and couldn't reach to the end.
Many similar topics are to found on the internet, but none of them touches emulator problem. All of them are with reference to real devices.
Regards.

I know the HTC Wizard is Java powered but every time I try to install a JAR archive I get an 'invalid archive' message, does anyone know why this is. I've tried a few different ones, is it just a coincidence and others may work or do I have to convert it or something?

The reason for this is the JAR's using custom, Nokia / Sony-Ericsson / etc.-specific libraries. It's not possible to make them work under Pocket PC Midlet JVM's, unfortunately.
(Please follow my articles; I've elaborated on this issue in them several times. Also, I've published a lot of compatibility reports and Pocket PC-compliant midlet reviews)
Ok, thanks for your advice again Menneisyys
so is there any way to emulate thses device so we could still use the incompatable jar files
I also have same problems however some of my JAR files will load up in MIDlet but when executed the screen flashes and returns to the MIDlet window, is this connected with the above problem?
Thanks
Hi guys, I installed the Windows Live Package from http://www.live-messenger.nl/download/WindowsLive.PPC2005_ARM.CAB. It worked perfect, now i wanted to know how much memory this app costed, so i uninstalled it again. But when i tried to install it again, it failed When i open the cab, it loads approx. 5 seconds in the installer, then the installer says Installation of WindowsLive.PPC2005_ARM.CAB has failed Anybody suggestions how i can get this work??
p.s. Without a hard reset
I have also done the same thing and get the same error. I had to uninstall Windows Live Mobile because I was getting an error everytime I tried to launch Live Messenger. Now I can't re-install it again.
I have 2 main ideas:
1st.: Microsoft is cutting the service from these "un-official" releases of their software, as they are trying now to sell Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Live can't be downloaded or installed let's say "legally".
2nd. (which doesn't affect the first one): Microsoft recognizes the WLM software as not pre-installed or being installed on a Windows Mobile 5 device and tells the client to get "blocked", I mean, it writes some values to the registry and prevents being launched or installed again showing the empty error message I had before unistalling it.
Someone can verify any of my ideas or bring a solution to have WLM working again on our WM5 devices?
Thanks in advance.
Romero i've found the problem! I got my hands on an UNdated UNrestricted version. As you said mic. just cut the WLM off. I do not knowe why but here is the fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36364&d=1175459584

neither of those are correct, the reason is thats its a beta and expired at the beginning of the month. therefore you cant run the program or install it. just get a new beta version by signing up to Microsoft Connect or use the older version thats been extracted from wm6 thats floating around here.
Try it, like the worker:
WindowsLive.PocketPC_50_arm.cab
Thank you very much ASerg!
The version The Dutchman posted was in English, but I find out that the Aserg's file was several kB bigger... That made me think and decided to install this bigger one and finally got Windows Live Mobile working in Spanish, just like before my beta had expired.
So thank you again guys!
Hi. So I just got a dump of my iPAQ 110, and I found this file. Earlier i stumbled onto this article:
http://www.ekhoury.com/2006/04/21/how-to-make-msn-messenger-add-ins/
Unfortunately this doesn't work for the latest messenger on the PC, but I was wondering if i can do something similar to make plugins for the mobile messenger. I tried to start a "Smart Device" project in VS2008 (I already have the wm6.0 sdk refresh installed), and then add this dll as a reference, but I get "A reference to "WLMMessengerplugin.dll" could not be added.", and when i click the help button it links me to an article saying this:
The project you are trying to load targets a device platform that your Visual Studio installation is not configured to support.
To correct this error
Install the platform that supports the project you want to load.
Anyone had any success with this?
Hello, I have a HP iPAQ H4350, I'm finding it really hard to find any information on it.
I first attempted to upgrade to WM 5 or 6, however cannot find any details on how to do it, there are a lot of details on other more newer devices but not the H4350.
I then tried to install Opera Mini, but i get "there is no application associated with [NAME OF FILE]. Run the application, then open this file from within the application". I assumed I need some sort of Java application to allow me to run Java files, but I can't seem to find out how to do it...
I'm stuck Please help.
Sean
Turns out it's on PPC not WM
oh well, it was only a spare one of my dads that I could mess around with
anyone know how to install Opera Mini?
