No More New Calls? - G1 General

I have noticed since the past week(mayb), [email protected] while I am on the phone, I can no longer recieve incoming calls, they go straight to voicemail, does anyone have any idea whats causing this?

Have you changed your call waiting settings?
Check it:
Go to Settings
Call Settings
Additional Settings
Call Waiting
Make sure that IS checked so that you do get notified of incoming call.s

first off try speaking in words not stupid garbled crap.
second, are you up tp date on your bill? i was a day late paying my bill and they turned off outgoing service, maybe they turned off your incoming.
also if you had done a quick look through the forums you would have seen a thread created a day or two ago talking about something very similar(calls only ringing twice before voicemail).

how to edit the call history to add calls?

i have to add an outgoing call to my call history at a certain date and time... is there a way to do this? im running 6.1 on a htc touch......
maybe you can try to set time and date on your phone to the date of you fake call and call (just call and hang up) the number you want...

I imagine having an alibi... Darling I called you, but you didn't took the call...
I will certainly have to remember this trick! There has been a many times this would have proved handy
Hmmmm, good that I dont need an alibi like that....
+ If I would say: "Yes honey I tried to call you 4am before I went to the afterparty, see my call history" she would probably tell me that she doesnt believe me anyway or that I should have sended smoke signals etc...
But there is a call duration entry. Meaning, that the call would only last <15 seconds.
Changing the time on the phone would work for your personal call history but not the official call history that shows on your phone bill.
As a father, I check my kid's phone calls and minutes semi-regularly by logging on to T-Mobile and viewing their recent activities.
Now, chances are if you need this for an alibi for a GF or some other friend it will work. If you need this for a more serious alibi, it's not going to work if the person has any way of checking the official carrier records.
Don't know about anybody else but if i make a call that isn't answered by anything, be it a person, ansaphone or voicemail, then the call duration in the call log is 00:00 and it never shows on my phone bill. The only way to prove that type of call was made would probably require access to the mobile operator's logs themselves which most of us don't have.
i have one problem in my vivo v3 . call log is not displaying in proper order.i dont know what to do.it is just scrumbled
omg.... thank you google!!! this might of just saved me $700 for late cancelling fees! miracle workers you are all saints!

Calls DON'T "send directly to voicemail" with JFv1.51

I'm not sure if this is because of Cupcake, or JF's mod of it. But it did begin after I updated to CRB43.
To recap: Each contact page, at the very bottom, has a checkbox saying "Incoming calls: Send calls directly to voicemail". Useful for people calling about "extended vehicle warranties" and their ilk. I know it worked before, because I put at least 20 numbers in that contact, and it made all those calls go straight to voicemail -- no ringer, no vibration.
But after I applied the new firmware, it won't send them to voicemail, not immediately. It vibrates, it rings normally, and /then/ goes to voicemail, just like a regular missed call. I tried to uncheck, then recheck the box, to no avail.
Is this a known problem? Where might I report this if it's a suspected bug?
I've noticed that as well after moving to JFv1.51.
this happened to me after re-checking i believe it is working...

I was trying to uncheck and check, then save (all on the same edit). What I've tried now, and hope works, is...
Edit contact
Uncheck item
Save
Edit contact again
Check item
Save again
Something else I just noticed: I seem to have lost audible touchtones on the dialpad, too. Could it be the Lucid loudness change I made? JF? 1.5 itself? Who knows.

This does appear to solve the problem. To be clear, you can't just toggle the box off and on and leave -- you must follow the sequence above.

I'll diagnose the new "loss of audible DTMFs" in a new post.

Google Voice push sms and voicemail after app update.

After the Google voice app update I have no setting for refreshing every 30 mins or so. Has anybody notice?
Very cool, looks like voice is moving along nicely.
Come on VOIP!
Other forum alerted me to the update. Glad it finally got push in. Now I can turn off email notifications.
so do we have to manually install google voice (or any other preloaded apps) so that they can get auto-updates from market?
The default on the updated app seems to be disabled notifications for some reason... anyone know why?

Because you no longer update by a time schedule anymore. It's all strictly push now.

Right... but the box to "Synchronize the Inbox" was unchecked. I checked the box, which also turned the notifications back on. I used my gf's phone to leave a test vmail, and it instantly notified me.
Are you saying that leaving the box unchecked will still push the notification automatically? I thought that we had to enable synching the inbox...

No, I'm saying it was turned off because the old sync no longer applies and perhaps some people don't want push.

Ah... ok, that makes sense. So I was right to check that box then.

No problem... just be aware that if you reboot the phone you need to go back into those settings and change it again. I don't know if the new update has fixed that little issue, as I suspect it's not with the GV app, but with the software on the phone itself. Hopefully it will be fixed soon though...
Any word or clue to whether or not Google Voice will ever implement picture messaging ?
So I've synced my Inbox, have all my notifications set-up, rebooted my phone, and am still not receiving ANY notifications for TXT messages...Anyone have any idea what might cause this? It's a bit frustrating blah, especially since I use GV text for a side business
I don't get the VM notification emails anymore, but I still get that blasted second txt msg whenever someone sends me a GV sms =/

That will happen, but if you scroll down further that in Call Settings and tap Call Forwarding settings, you'll see it's going to your GV number. The voicemail option just changes where your calls get forwarded to for voicemail.

It also changes what number is dialed when you hit the voicemail icon in the dialer. Try rebooting your phone and clicking the vmail icon... it will automatically default to the Carrier. You have to change it manually in Call Settings as I described for the dialer to revert to GV for vmail.

Uninstall the update. When you re-install after the sign part there is the option to setup for voicemail.

Ah, well I never use it because what's the point with Google Voice. I can see them and listen to them on the app without having to dial in and waste minutes.

Call blocking software

Ok, I used to have an app installed on my phone that not only would block calls that i chose (by number) but it gave me the option for an error message to be played for the caller. I had it set to say "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and dial again." Now I cannot find this app, does anyone know what it is? Please help, thanks.
Jason
Not the app you're looking for, but I use aFirewall and it blocks calls. It just sends them to Voice mail, but if you have Google Voice you can set it up to send them to a really obnoxious voice mail message.
Yea, I had that, but the app I had before literally made the caller think your number had been disconnected. It was sweet.
cm6 rc2 has a blacklist in call settings, works just fine.

Yes, this works also, but it doesn't redirect to voicemail. It just outright end the call.
back to my main question, blacklisting is not the thing wanted, it is the message played to the caller, "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and dial again.
I had an app that allowed the user to chose the message the caller hears, another option was the...beep...beep...beep...beep tone.
It was sweet.
I would be interested in finding the name of this app... I'll keep an eye on this thread.
Done tonnes of searching and can't find what you mean.
If you do find it please send me a PM, sounds class

I'm pretty sure Google Voice does this, When I was reading the GV FAQ awhile back I remember thinking what a really cool function of GV it was. On the downside I believe GV has to be your primary number though, not positive, you might wanna check it out.

Google voice does let you set a specific number to get a disconnected message.
It does require for you to use google voice as your voicemail, but it does not need to replace your current number.
i've used this feature and it is quite effective. for maximum effect just set the option within your phone book to send the caller directly to voicemail.
your phone will not even ring.
Easybusy
I think you talking about easybusy. I use it and have my phone set to forward calls to a fake number like 555-555-5555. One problem, I'm currently testing the new energy rom and now my easybusy software will not work.

Incoming call text back feature

For the life of me, I can't find where to edit the responses without actually editing it when I'm receiving a call. Does anyone know where to find the list of responses for this so I can add a few? TIA
settings --> call settings -->All Calls -->> Reject Call With Message
You can add a message and edit/delete message by hitting the menu button.

Google Voice has the option to mark numbers as spam, so when I have to use my phone to call people I don't necessarily want to be able to call me back I use it and if there is a problem google Voice eliminates it. I don't give out my t-mobile number because then people will bother me.
Fortunately the person who i rejected with a text was not bright and asked who was texting. I apologized and said "Sarah", they said they didn't know a Sarah and I said oh, sorry wrong number... Then I called them back from GV later that night.
