orange - Touch HD General

Hi,I have just unlocked my Orange touch HD phone and am using T-Mobile,if I try to get on the internet there is still Orange world as the default, can I remove this in some way ,either windows or the registry please.
Don

you can remove the whole branding e.g start up screen and your issue. you will have to flash a stock original rom or a modified cooked rom. you can search on how to do this.

How to remove Starhub button

Hi all,
I've just purchased a HTC Touch 3G online from a Sigaporean seller. I'm in Australia by the way. When I put my 3 sim card in I do get reception and everything works fine.
However I've noticed this Starhub button at the bottom of the screen to the left of the Programs button. Also towards the top of the screen, right underneath the Start menu, I can see 3G on the right, but I see another sign/picture that also says starhub.
I think that Starhub is a mobile provider in Singapore, but my question is: is there anyway of removing those buttons?
Thanks in advance.
I solved it
Hi guys,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I've got rid of those starhub buttons by doing a rom flash to the stock English rom. Thanks to all the people who viewed this and might be out there looking for an answer for me. I really appreciate it.

May I know what you've done/used to flash and the process involved to get the stock HTC ROM without all the telco extras? Thanks.
It's actually pretty straight forward.
You just need to download the stock ROM from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441673
After it finishes, run it on your PC, make sure your phone is connected to the PC and you have an active ActiveSync link.
Then just follow the prompts in the installation package. Hope this helps.
You can edit the registry
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\Home
HTC Jade
Could you please tell me how to remove the STARHUB TV using regedit without reflashing the ROM?
Thanks

Try using M2DC from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392 to customize your Manilla2D internet tab. I have not tried it before though.

Official UK/Europe ROM to replace Orange ROM?

I've just bought a UK HTC Touch HD that was locked to Orange and is now unlocked. I want to get rid of the Orange branding software by flashing to the latest 'Official' HTC Rom but have found that the only ROM on the HTC site is 'unsuitable' for my phone after inputting the Ser No. Can someone point me in the direction of the corrrect ROM file or is there a good reason why I should use a 'unofficial' ROM?

Hiya mate, welcome to the forum. I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of the Orange branding, they seem to take pleasure in undoing all the hard work that HTC do and replace it with their puke inspired branding (Orange SPV E650 - PUKE!)
Right, first of all I'd suggest you read through the Blackstone Wiki (Link is stickied at the top of this forum) You'll find out most of what you need to know about flashing a new ROM, including chooseing between USPL and HSPL (Bootloader) - depending on whether you intend to do much flashing of ROMs to your device. There's also links to some Official HTC WWE roms that people have dumped from their phones and kindly re-packaged ready to be flashed.
As always, remember that flashing a new rom image, or SPL will invalidate your warranty, unless you can flash back to original - which is possible for SPL and ROM image provided you back up your original or know you can download an Original Orange ROM. Instructions for dumping your rom are also on the wiki.
Good luck!
Thanks, I'll have a trawl through all the info, hopefully I won't end up turning my new toy into a brick!
Nic
I've successfully 'de oranged' now by using :
Unsigned_HardSPL_for_Blackstone_OliNexe
followed by:
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.14.401.2_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship
Everything seems to be working just fine and the 'auto configuration' now works no matter what sim I use, who knows I might even be brave enough to start playing with 'Cooked' ROMS soon!
I've had my orange phone for a couple of days now and want to do the same as you. Can you tell me how you unlocked your phone and do you have to unlock it before you can put in a new ROM?
Also, once you put the new ROM in, did you have to set up the orange voicemail, internet, etc?
You don't need to network unlock before flashing. Mine is still locked to Orange despite having a Dutty rom on it.
I think a network unlock costs a few bob, look around the forums. Data just worked, and I had to remember that voicemail is on 123. And if it didn't I expect the config text they send out would reset it all for you.

Thanks for the reply. I wont bother with unlocking as I intend to stay with orange for at least the next 18 months. I have a couple more questions, if you don't mind:
How do they know to send the config text? Can they detect you updated the ROM?
This is something that I have also wondered about... do you have to note all data & MMS etc settings or are they predetermined by the sim or something?
I've flashed my phone probably about 20+ times with different ROMs and all have detected my Orange UK SIM settings.
Hope this helps.
The 'Auto Configuration' option in 'Connection setup' takes care of all the settings for you and you've still got the option of selecting the Country and Operator manually.

That is good to know. I was worried that the phone would forget how to do sms, internet, voicemail, etc.

I bet it would work if SDDL was compatible with the X01T Last time I checked it bricked one guys X01T not sure if they have fixed it yet >.<
You don't need a SDDL exe to flash. With short in pin you can do it.
The problem is tsw file.

The Orange UK rom the TG01 works perfectly in x02t.
But with a detail, so start x02t wm 6.5 where shorting pins 1 and 2 that are behind the card sim
every time you switch off or remove the stick will have to repeat the process.
The card sim has to be placed on the wm is starting.

Orange branded Jade question.

Hi all, im thinking of getting a Touch 3G (Jade) as a second phone, my first being a touch Diamond 2, and am thinking of buying one from E-Bay orange branded.
My question is if i get one, it seems i can get it sim unlocked easy enough, but once i get it sim unlocked can i dol the hspl and flash any rom i want as i have been doing with my diamond 2? Or will being originally a branded Orange one prevent me from doing this?
Thanks in advance.
You can easily SIM unlock it via ebay, i did it this way. And after that when you do HSPL you can put whatever ROM you want.
Thanks for the reply, yeah i thought that but i think i will get it unlocked by Olipro/Olinex from the link in the hard spl thread, i feel i could trust their service more
Hi again. Ok i have bought a Touch 3g that was Orange branded, i have purchased the sim unlocking utility from Olinex, got hard spl running and tried a few roms to see which suits me, but whichever rom i use i am still getting the Orange start screen before the rom loads up. Not to big a problem really but if possible i would like to remove it, any ideas guys n gals ?

Hi Football
I don't suppose you have a change log for this ROM update. I am sure most people will be keen to know whether it just has updated HTC apps or if it includes the so far mythical Microsoft update billed for Jan 2011.
I noticed that HTC Hub on my Orange UK branded HTC 7 Mozart got an update through Marketplace.
Cheers

You can remove all the Orange stuff though Making it stock is one of the main awesome things about WP7!
And nope, flashing other region's stuff won't work.

Hi Optika
It's not clear what you mean but...
At this moment in time, you can't change the actual ROM on the device, only remove software bundled with it by either HTC or Orange.
If you mean the Orange Theme, then you can't remove the "Orange UK" theme from the device as this is hard coded into the Operator's ROM but you can change the colour to any of the other standard WP7 colours (including Orange).
If you're talking about using a non-orange SIM card, I am pretty sure the phone will be network locked to Orange UK. You may be able to get the phone network unlocked. There are both official and unofficial routes to this, which you may or may not have to pay for. You'll need to do your own research into that, which should probably include speaking to Orange themselves.
If you clarify what "still shows Orange in front of any network " means, I am sure people here will help if they can.
Thanks
andrew-in-woking
I think he means the start up logo.
You can't change that i think
