I'm wondering if someone knows of a particular type of application and if they can point me in the right direction? I'll make a request in the appropriate app thread if this hasn't been developer yet.
I'm looking for a sliding app drawer/folder/carousel/dock (whatever you want to call it) that goes on the main home screen.
I guess it's best to illustrate what I'm wanting. Here's my current home screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I know my clock is big, but I figure whether it's a clock or a home screen filled with widgets, that give us very little room for shortcut icons.
Where my 4 icons are below the clock, I was wondering if there as an app (or widget) where you can put more shortcuts, then, kinda like the home screens slide left and right, you could run your finger over that drawer or dock and just the icons would slide left or right giving you more choices. I put the arrows there to kinda illustrate what I'm after.
I know about "Launcher Dock", but that popups a transparent dock of it's own, and although it's nice, it's not exactly what I'm after.
I've searched the market, but searching that thing turns up absolutely useless results. I've search for menu, slider, dock, drawer, folder, and lots of other terms to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi there,
is it possible to make the bottom slider bar in manila about half the size?
Reason is: When it's completely transparent there is a "cutoff" of images in the photo tab and programbuttons in the program tab and maybe thats the reason why its normally solid in all other tabs except the home tab.
So is it possible to make the bottom bar like half transparent, half solid? making it a bit smaller i mean so that it ends at the place where the tab contents cut off?
Made an example image here, I want the sliderbar like the red tint I added.

you can see what i mean by cut off very good on this picture with a transparent slider:
normally the slider is solid and it wouldnt matter if it cuts off behind the slider. but i dont like the look of it. a solid sliderbar just covering the empty space would be perfect.
I think it would be better if there could have a page break on the programs menu, so the bottom icons won't cut the other ones!

Hey i just wanted to share what ive been working on, i started with that amin theme i found on here by (expo7) and made it into my own, im not sure how to share a theme but i will upload my BG picks and icons. This is my first theme ,so yeah heres some screens!!
Normal today screen,

}
Slide finger up to reveal dock, All my notifiers only appear when needed.Also you can just slide finger left to right to switch between pages.
Heres more screens, on the music tab, only the middle album art changes, the buttons work also ,the rest is just for looks!! Also on the weather page if you slide up then it shows the 5day forecast. same with programs and settings, its seems like a neat way of doing it. Also youll see in the upper right corner if you hit that icon youll return to the desktop! Well hope enjoy. Thanks for lookin.
Download Beach Theme Wallpapers and icons.
Great looking theme.
Does it have landscape support?
These are QVGA correct?
no landscape mode yet, also it is vga sorry for not saying that!! but all thats in the download is the icons and wallpapers so you can resize images for qvga if you want.
I'm sick of modern UI styles. The worst thing about 'em is "Hamburger menu".
1) It's button is in FAR LEFT corner of the screen. Of my 4.8" screen! And there are 6"+ screens already.
2) Oh, you think "there is a gesture to open the menu if you don't like the button". But it's conflicting with PIVOTS!
So... I made an example app with a usable interface. And I release it as a source so YOU, developers, can use it. No license, you're free to use it as you want (without warranty of any kind of course). However I'll be happy if you mention me in about page of your app.
First of all screenshots:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What's done:
1) Menu button moved to the bottom.
2) First (and most used menu item) is lowest. ListBox is upside down.
3) No gestures.
4) No pages with crazy navigation history. Most used features are on main page, others are on external pages.
5) Each PivotItem can easily have its own AppBar (it's not system AppBar).
I have more ideas and this project will evolve for some time.
Now, the source: https://github.com/LONELY-WOLF/InterfaceSample
Added "..." button with menu. Style is ugly for now.
Hamburger now closes if you tap right from it.
How do i get the half circle, spinning quick shortcut wheel to appear on the bottom left of my phone? My wife and i both have the USA T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and her phone is the only one that does it. If you swipe upwards diagonally, from the bottom left or right corner, then the quick access wheel appears. This only works on my wifes phone. We both got them at the same time, unboxed them together and she doesnt have the smart swipe app installed from the Galaxy store, but yet her phone does it without problems. There has to be a setting on my phone that can be changed to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i have a picture i took of her screen on my phone but not sure how to share it on here.

It's not a Samsung pre-installed app. You can read here and find what is yours
https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...o-i-remove-corner-swipe-popup-menu-my-s8.html
Thank you for the information. So it sounds like my wife must have an app installed on her phone that contains this feature, yes/no? Second, whatever apps contain this feature, it looks like everone is trying to get rid of it. That option wont appear on my phone because i dont have any apps that support that swipe gesture?
Here's a nagging Android riddle I'd like to understand just out of curiosity, as opposed to researching an 'issue' that needs to be resolved. We all have better things to do (laundry, pull weeds, floss) than to make a case out of this post.
I'll ask anyway.
In my graphic the shortcut on the left shows normal behavior from the Settings widget in Oreo. The shortcut on the right, however, just showed up on the home screen out of nowhere. I'm clueless about how it got there and why it has color. Is anybody familiar with this?

I think it's a spyware from mobile-tracker-free.com . Coz I used it before and it comes as the name of WiFi in the settings to avoid attention of the user.

It's not spyware. But mystery solved. The peculiar green shortcut is an Oreo feature.
In my case it showed up by accident. Here's how it's done on purpose:
Long-press the Settings app icon until a pop-up box appears with a short list of widget items that can be dragged to the home screen. In my case there are only 3 options -- battery, data usage and wi-fi.
There are similar effects by long-pressing other apps like Gmail and Messages.
