Hi,
Has anyone got this program running on their TP2? I get the message "Your device is preventing installation. We can try to automatically fix this, but we need to restart your device. Continue?"
I click continue and the device restarts but doesn't install.
Could this be because I have the stock rom which is locked down?
AFAIK, that means it's either not compatible with it, or you're phone is not app unlocked. If not app unlocked, install sdkcerts.cab. If it is app unlocked, your phone is not supported.
I have the stock WWE ROM, and I was able to install nueDynamicClock without a glitch (I'm not sure if I even had the sdkcerts installed or not, at the time). However, if I underclocked/undervolted the processor, my TP2 would crash quite soon. Battery out, battery in, and I was ready to go again, fortunately (YMMV).

My phone has to be restarted about every other day. Stuff just starts disappearing off the home screen and taking forever to do anything. Would an upgrade to 6.1 help this?
Are you on a stock Rom?
Since an upgrade will install a brand new Radio and Rom... Yes, it should help this. (so might a hard reset) However if your issue is Hardware( doesn't sound like it) or some poorly written app you have installed (could be) then the upgrade wont help unless you replace the hardware, or dont install the bad app.
So.. Yeah go for it.. It should help. If you havent flashed before.. READ the instructions so you can avoid major headaches or a bricked phone.
My Stock Verizon Phone locked up often... (once or twice a day)
Upgraded with DCDs most excellent Rom, Now my phone is solid.
Here is the thing, maybe it's possible. I have a HTC Touch HD and I don't need all the software that are automatically installed after a hard reset. Three years ago I owned an ETEN Glofiish X500+ and I remember that I could cancel ETEN's default software installation after a hard reset. Can it be done on Blackstone too?
Thank you.
To be honest I haven't heard of this on the HD. Sounds plausible, but doesn't mean its possible.
Anyone else any insight into this?
If you are talking about a stock rom then just remove the battery as it says its customising and it shouldn't install all the crap after you replace it and boot up again. Also if you have cid unlocked and used the 00000000 code it should have removed all the manufacturers branding and that stops the crap being installed too.
If you mean roms cooked from these forums, I don't know of a way to stop that but perhaps the battery trick would work for these too.
I have the latest Stock ROM downloaded from HTC website v1.56.401.0
I've tried everything I guess: removed the battery when the software installation messaged showed up, informing me that the software installation will begin in 3 seconds; I’ve pushed the reset button in the middle of the software installation and... nothing. It starts all over again with the screen alignment, date and time setup and then the software installation starts.
I will try some more, maybe with some button combination I’ll manage to skip the installation, but I doubt it.
The only solution that I see now it's to cook my own ROM
Can anyone tell me if this will wipe any updates etc that have been done to the phone by the phone company?
my phone forgot the lock code so i had to do a hard reset, since then the phone has been freezing quite often, mainly when sending/recieving texts if you change the orientation while typing.
at the moment its either wait 2 minutes for it to sort itself out or just restart sense which is now becoming annoying.
any help appreciated
it also wont play the h.264 recordings i have made on the phone, i just get a black screen that says loading :/
well i have figured out it is definately related to the orientaion of the phone, i cannot turn the phone on its side when sending texts or using the web browsers or it will just lock up or slow to a crawl.
p.s. somone just please reply so i know i aint getting ignored cos my posts seem to be lol
Hmmmm...
Is the issue only occuring since you performed the hard reset and not before?
Have you tried reinstalling any updates you had before the reset?
Do you have a lot of msg's in your inbox?
updates are usually stored in root of phone
have you installed any new cabs or roms ??
if you've not installed anything new another hard reset may be in order just to re-syncronize phone
only help I can give at mo

Yeah it will. it is like doing a windows system restore using the restore discs that came with your pc. Personally i would look at updating to a newer rom if you haven't already got a 1.66 or 1.72 based stock rom. You could always look at a custom rom. I use energy 23569 and i haven't had any problems with it. Also the energy roms include a newer version of sense that is included with the new TMOUS roms and it appears to be less buggy
thanks for the replies guys,
it was fine before the reset but it did slow a little in landscape mode but nothing anywhere near what its like now, key presses had a slight delay and now they are like a 5 second delay....portrait mode is perfect.
i always delete messages so my inbox is empty, i never applied any updates prior to the reset, i assumed virgin did it all for me.
i have only installed a few tweaks but the main change is bsb tweaks, i'm now using the latest version where as i was using the prior version before the hard reset but this has only started happening about a week after i installed it.
rom version is 1.66.351.1 (76641) WWE
rom date 03/03/10
manilla version 2.5.19211619.0
OS version 5.2.21869
radio version 2.07.51.22_2
i want to use a custom rom or atleast update to newer one but how will i put it back to the stock rom? the phone has some locked items from virgin installed, they will know if those are not there.
No they won't. Just say you removed them by hand because they were of no purpose to you.
If you install a custom rom on your unbranded, unlocked (the phone virgin supplied you is exactly the same as what you would pay for standalone except for the software extras) Leo it will be easy to install a stock rom. just flash it and then remove HSPL3 in favour of the stock spl (1.42 i think).
Your manilla/sense version is actually very old. There are newer versions about (2015 and 2016) that have been developed for the TMOUS devices but as HTC neglect the UK we haven;t been given the officially yet but most of the new custom roms include them.
If you do stay stock try installing LeoCPUSpeed V4 and chainfire's 3D Driver Patch V2. They will improve the speed of the phone in general and you may find the typing lag goes away completely
Good Morning
I have a problem which is driving me nuts - me and everyone calling me and being called by me, that is.
I have Android running on SD ([MccMBoxmaX MixTheme RR V10 Blue+Trans+ICS XLSense3.5][2.3.5] this one). There are no problems - camera, shop, apps, everything's working fine - exept that when I try to call someone, my phone loses its connection. Not everytime, mind you. Rarely, I can call my dad and we talk for almost an hour without getting "interrupted", but most of the time, I can hardly say "hi" before my phone shows me: "radio off" and the screen goes black. When I try to call someone again after that happens, the problem will most likely repeat itself.
It's really getting on my nerves.
Can someone please help me?
Does it get warm low down on the back?
I'm thinking you have a bad radio. If you are on T-Mobile then I would suggest updating to the latest ruu from the ota then clean installing android again.
It only gets warm at the lower back when I'm downloading too much (for example, if I have to re-download my apps after reinstalling Android)
I don't have Tmobile, I have O2 (Germany). But what does ota mean?
See if they have an update to wm6.5. Download the installer and run it, it should install the latest wm6.5 on the HD2. This ruu also includes the latest radio and other updates. Then you can run a t29 and clean install android. Or if you are dual booting, just boot into android.

[Q] "Dream Manager Service" keeps waking the screen up, how do I disable it?
I've looked for other posts on this issue, but none helped me very much. I have a Samsung S5 (international, sim-free), I recently flashed Phoenix Rom, version 6.3, build BOC7. Was on Omega Rom BOB7 previously. I'm also on BOB7 bootloader and modem. Don't know if it's relevant, but I'll mention it anyway. I don't have a PC, so it's difficult for me to use Odin, it's something I have to arrange days in advance. That's why I haven't updated bootloader or modem to BOC7 yet. And before anyone tells me to just go back to Omega Rom, Phoenix Rom is my absolute favourite Rom, it was my daily driver on KitKat, and I just discovered today that it had been updated to Lollipop, so I flashed it immediately.
Using Wakelock Detector immediately after booting, I find Android System, specifically "Dream Manager Service" the only thing which has woken the screen. So that seems to be the culprit, but I don't know how to kill it. It was never an issue before. Basic Daydreams (a Samsung process) is frozen via Titanium Backup. I don't use any other sort of daydream app or service.
It is clearly an issue with Phoenix Rom, but it didn't start until a few hours after I'd flashed it. So in the meantime something has happened, but I don't know what, and before I go through the hassle of reflashing it, I'd like to see how I could disable it. Things I've tried:
- Turning off ambient display - was not on when the problem started, I've tried turning it on and off, but doesn't help. I don't use it or want it, so I don't mind killing it somehow.
- Booting into safe mode. This helped, the problem did not appear when in safe mode. As far as I know though, it just doesn't allow "Dream Manager Service" to run. Not so helpful for finding out how to disable it.
- Revoking permission to "keep screen on" in App Ops for Android System. It seems to just ignore this, which seems to make the whole permission management thing a bit pointless.
When the screen does turn on, it looks different. The wallpaper is not displayed, and it's all in black and white.
Does anyone know why "Dream Manager Service" is doing this? And more importantly, how I can stop it? If you need any more information from me, just ask.
EDIT: Found reason: Ambient Display in Phoenix v6.3 was causing this bug, even after I turned it off. Downgraded back to 6.0, will skip 6.3 and wait for fix, hope it will be an option in the Aroma Installer next time.
Thank you! I found this information useful 2 years later in my Galaxy S7 running Ambasadii Nougat 7.0.
