Problem installing HardSPL... - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I am trying to install HardSPL for the first time on my Hermes using MrVanx's guide at http://www.mrvanx.org/thg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26
I followed all the steps, i downloaded olipro 2.10 extracted the files, plug in my fully charged hermes, watch the connection dialog complete successfully on the phone and sync center syncs and shows that the phone is connected, then i run RUUWrapper.exe and click next until i get to this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I click update and then i click next twice to proceed with the flash. Then a message pops up on my pc that says "Verifying information on your Hermes please wait", and a dialog box pops up on my hermes asking me if i want to allow EnterBL.exe to run. I choose "Yes" and it enters this screen:
This is where my problem occurs. Once that bootloader screen shows up on my phone, the HardSPL update utility on my pc loses the usb connection, sync center no longer recognizes the phone as being connected, and the HardSPL update utility gives me the following error message:
ERROR [260] : UPDATE ERROR
The update utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone.
Check the following:
1. The PDA Phone is connected to the USB cradle/cable.
2. The USB cradle/cable is connected to the PC.
The bootloader screen on the phone just sits there ive tried mashing buttons but it does nothing, if i pull out the usb cord from the phone it will say serial at the bottom but thats about the most response i can get out of it. So basically i just restart the phone after to find that nothing has changed and try over and over again.
NOTE: I do not have an SD card in my phone, i dont know if this updater requires an SD card to be inserted but it never said anything about SD cards in the guide so i am assuming it doesnt matter. Also my bootloader screen does not totally match the picture it says:
HERM200
IPL-SSPL by Des
HERM200
SPL-1.09.ds
Not sure what that means or if it makes a difference either...

OK, you now have Soft SPL on your Hermes, follow these instructions EXACTLY...
1. Format an sd card (2Gb or less) FAT32. Copy .nbh file to it.
2. Rename .nbh file to hermimg.nbh . Insert into Hermes.
3. Reset into bootloader (tri-colour screen). If you did this right, follow the onscreen instructions...
This will be quick.
Once you have Hard SPL on your Hermes, your IPL will be 1.04 and your SPL will be 2.10 oli. Then you can use those steps to flash another rom. This was only possible because you have Soft SPL on your Hermes. If you want to flash another Hermes you should check out and follow the instructions on page 116, post 1160 of the Hard SPL thread...
Cheers...
If you have XP on your PC, upgrade your .net framework to 3.5.... That should also fix up that pesky sync error...

Are you sure i have softspl on my hermes? It seems like it might be the upgrader might just be temporarily loading it into the memory. I bought this phone used but its running WM5 and i doubt the previous owner would have installed softspl. Either way if i do have it permanently installed on the phone i dont know how to enter the bootloader without running that HardSPL upgrader. I will try what you said though. I dont have an SD card as of yet but i will pick one up today. And I am running Vista, but have read a few posts by Mr Vanx saying that Vista can have issues with these things. Ill get back to you after i get an sd and try it out.

Press down both the POWER button and SIDE OK together and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the bottom.
Mike

Oh alrite cool thanks mike that is taking me to the bootloader. When i get my sd card ill try what ultramag69 said. Btw is the bootloader actually supposed to do anything other than display that screen? because i cant actually boot from it... i cant actually do anything in it....ive pressed every button on the phone nothing happens....
Anyways i guess that doesnt really matter at this point, ill get back to you guys after i have the sd card. thanks guys.

When you insert the sd card, as long as you've done the steps correctly, it will recognise the flash file on the card and do something. When you reset into bootloader, if you're worried Soft SPL is no longer on your Hermes, reset to bootloader before inserting the sd card. It should say SPL : 1.09 des. Insert sd card then reset to bootloader again.
If for some reason its not there, go to here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
post 1160, page 116. You can download it (SSPL.exe), put it onto your Hermes main memory, do not run it from sd card, and run using the file explorer. It will start Soft SPL again. And as long as you have the flash file (hermimg.nbh) on the sd cards root directory, it well flash the Hermes.
Cheers...

ok so i got a 1gb microsd card and formatted it in fat32. i downloaded Hard-SPL-V7.zip, renamed RUU_signed.nbh to hermimg.nbh and then placed it on the root of the memory stick. Then in order to check my spl and ipl; i pressed down both the POWER button and SIDE OK together and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the bottom. It showed that i had IPL-1.01 and SPL-1.11, (which i am assuming means no softSPL). So then i downloaded SSPL-HERM.zip from page 116 post 1160 @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 and i copied the SSPL-HERM.exe to the memory of my phone and ran SSPL-HERM.exe from file explorer. This took me into the bootloader which now said i had IPL-SSPL by Des and SPL-1.09.ds which i am assuming means softSPL. At this point i inserted my SD card. Nothing happened. So i pressed down both the POWER button and SIDE OK together and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the bottom, and my phone rebooted back into windows mobile. The SD was still in the phone but still nothing was happening so i rebooted back into bootloader mode AND MY IPL WAS BACK TO IPL-1.01 MY SPL BACK TO SPL-1.11!!! WTF AM I DOING WRONG?!!!
UPDATE: Now i am getting an error every time i try to execute SSPL-HERM.exe "The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found". I am getting pretty sick of windows mobile 5 maybe i would have better luck getting hardSPL on if i upgraded to an official wm6 rom first. Do you still need hardSPL if you are using an official WM6 rom? because i think i saw an official european version of WM6.1 for the hermes somewhere in this forum. Maybe i could install that and i would have less problems trying to install hardSPL after?

alrite im going to assume that everyone is stumped by the problem so im thinking that i could flash my device with a ROM accepted by standard bootloader as it says in the SSPL-HERMES readme. im asuming i have somehow corrupted my hermes so once i do that everything will be reset to normal and i can start from the beginning and try again. so can anyone confirm for me that i can download a firmware somewhere that is accepted by the standard bootloader and flash my hermes without having to use HardSPL or softSPL and without any great risk? and if so can anyone recommend a firmware that i could do this with??

restart the hermes, have the sd card already inserted and run SSPL.exe from the main memory. It should work. If you think it may help, re-copy SSPL.exe back onto main memory.

What you did wrong was to insert the microsd card after you execute SSPL-HERM.exe. The card must be inserted before execution of softSPL. Then the phone goes to bootloader screen and will recognize the image in the card and will flash it after a prompt to continue.
This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295735 has a very good discussion about SD card method for flashing ROMs and the procedure its exactly the same for HardSPL flashing.
About the error with SSPL-HERM.EXE try copying the file again to your main memory or rename the file it might help.
HTC Tytn
SuperCID
SPL: 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7)
ROM: Shamanix WM6 Ultimate v2 Final
RADIO: 1.48.00.10

the problem has been mostly solved. I've managed to get hardspl on the phone by using v9 instead of v7. I think the problem I was having with v7 was that my phone won't run any roms that force sspl. v9 gave me an error but according to boz over at 4win it is a common error happens even during a successful installation. so after getting v9 on my computer the sspl-herm was able to flash and indicated a successful installation. after that I was able to flash black satin. black satin would not install through sspl so others with the same problem will probably have to choose the 2.10 new bootloader in order to get the flash to start. that's what worked for me anyways. I still don't understand why roms won't work thru sspl on my hermes but I have hardspl and black satin now so if I never figure it out I don't really care. thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it. its good to finally be on wm6

Stuck on bootloader menu after error upgrading ROM

Help,
Is there a way to get the OS and boot img for my o2 XDA to put on my SD card so i can recover it?
I'm stuck on the boot-loader screen (version 5.22) i can not use active sync as it comes up as unrecognized device, im at my wits end, i just want to get my phone working again. is there any place i can get the O2 ROM file from? or anything that can be done, or do i have a useless brick now?
i tried upgrading with the developers ROM using the auto install, it got to the "it will take 5 mins to upgrade" screen then active sync lost connection, there was nothing showing in the progress bar, when i tried to restart, active sync could not connect. now im stuck with the boot-loader menu after a soft reset.
Sorry for the double post,
Right sorted the problem out, got a cooked ROM from a different site as no link i clicked on here was still active.
I found out that if you Format the SD card to Fat32 when in bootloader it doesn't recognize the ROM, so a format to just FAT under windows XP sorted it out, and now I'm back up and running again, though now i cant get my phone unlocked to Vodafone as the XDAunlock returns "error getting code" message. here are my Device info
Rom version 3.17.03
Radio version 4.21.X1
Protcal version 32S54
problem resolved by updating the Radio stack to 6.24 (placing the files onto the device and upgrading from there) once that had done, i had no signal, so downgraded it back to 4.21 and now I'm fully functional
Where did you get the ROM?
I have a similar problem with an XDA which failed whilst being flashed via active sync and now will not start apart from via bootloader. Where did you get the ROM that you mention please?
Thanks
Geezer
use this ROM from http://www.romkitchen.de/ choose one that u will use to cook, PC2002 or WM2003/SE, (WM2003SE cannot use SD Card, only can use activesyn) then downgrade bootloader from v5.22 to v5.15,
using MMC (flash SD) continue to special rom 1.2, Go to the bootloader utilities. Hit Contacts button and you'll get the boot loader option stuff. If the bootloader utilities you get to right away takes you to a menu with things like Boot+CE-->SD then you don't have to worry about hitting the contacts button. You only need Contacts button if when you get to the bootloader screen you see nothing more than some nice colors, the bootloader version and "GSM OK" message.
Take the Boot+CE-->SD option to back everything up. This will take a few minutes.
Once it's done pull the SD out ofthe ppcpe and stick it into your SD card reader. Bring up XDArit and chose your removeable device.
If you have more than one MMC slot select the different ones until you get one that says 'Wallaby' in the hex codes at the bottom of the XDArit screen. You'll be writing out two files, the first is the NB0 file (which is the bootloader) and the second is the NB1 file (which is the OS or ROM). Name these something like original.nb0 and 1.
Wipe the SD card (format FAT). Stick the SD card back into the pda and soft reset, then cradle it.
Go to a DOS prompt and CD to where you put 'pnewbootflash_40116.exe.' Type 'pnewbootflash_40116 nbl515.nb0' to write the Wallaby 5.15 boot loader to the device. If when you downloaded the 5.15 bootloader you called it something else (like 'wallaby_boot_loader_V5.15.nb0' you should of course use that name instead!
The output looks like this:
D:\XDAtools\binaries>pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0

There is no problem with your BA. Try to do the setup again...
NOW....
Before you upgrade your BA keep this is mind...it's a warning...a WARNING so you will not sue xda-dev or any BA ROM cooker if something BAD happens to your BA. But don't worry 1 out of 1000 BA owners brick their BA while upgrading. Because they upgrade their BA with 10% battery life. Where did I get the 1 out of 1000 statistics? Just a guess..a wild guess but it's near to reality
WARNING
IF YOU PROCEED, YOU MAY TOAST YOUR PHONE. THERE'S NO COMEBACK. THERE'S NO GETTING ROUND THIS. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST OTHERWISE YOU'LL PROBABLY BREAK YOUR PHONE PERMANENTLY. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? DO YOu? ANSWER ME YOU...lol

- Download unlocker.cab DOWNLOAD HERE
- Download Repart_Doc.exe DOWNLOAD HERE
- Place both of them somewhere on your Pocket PC. For example in \temp but anywhere is fine. All the command below are to be executed on your Pocket PC, not on your PC.
- Install xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB by tapping on it in filemanger (from the directory where you put it earlier)
- Then go to start -> Programs -> ExtROM tools -> then first run "unhide", then "Unlock".
- Do a soft reset. (you know how to do a SR, right?)
- Once your Pocket PC is restarted, locate the Repart_DOC.exe file with your filemanager and start it.
- Set the size of Extended ROM to 128 kb (which is already the default).
- Press "Format now!" and wait until it is done (A few seconds). You will see a message that it is done. (You will get an error message about your storage, just press yes and wait a few seconds.)
- Soft reset your Pocket PC.
NOW YOU ARE DONE WITH THE FIRST PART AND I HOPE I AM MAKING IT EASY FOR YOU AND FOR EVERYONE.
Now, I RECOMMEND you to use Windows XP and of course Active Sync 4.5.
NOTE: Do a hard reset first
Doing a hardreset is easy if you have 3 hands - push your stylus at the softreset hole and then as soon as you see the Strips
hold Camera and Record
Then you will be a debugger screen

1. Download the BA ROM that you desired. It can be WM6, WM6.1 or WM6.5 and you can find all the download links of this ROMs on our BA wiki (and I am the one who updated that and put those links.)
2. Save that ROM on your computer. (anywhere will do) If it is zipped or rar, then unzip it or unrar it.
Here are the files that should be inside that ROM folder (well this are the files that I have every time I flash my BA, just correct me guys if some of this are not really needed):
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.dll
RUU.dll
BaUpgradeUt.exe
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
HTCRUU.conf
RUU.conf
vbscript.dll
nk.nbf
SetOperator.bat
3. Temporarily remove your SD Card (it may work for you with the SD card still in your BA, but you may not be able to enter USB mode when cradled).
Just remove your SD Card from you BA and the SIM card too just to make sure.
4. Put your device into Bootloader mode by pressing and holding the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the Reset Button. Ooops before I forgot make sure you do a Hard Reset on your BA first.
Press and hold the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the Reset Button until “Serial” shows on screen.
(Some BlueAngel shows "Serial" at the top and "V2.07" at the bottom.)
NOTE: The screen will not be backlit, so it may appear the phone is not in bootloader mode.
Look carefully.
When the USB sync cable is inserted into the phone and the computer, "Serial" will change to "USB", provided that the phone detects the connection.
5. Connect the phone to the sync cable/cradle.
7. Now you can execute the installer file. (BaUpgradeUt.exe or MaUpgradeUt.exe) You will see this window:
8. When the upgrade is completed, you must perform a Hard Reset.
When the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, wait more, you are booting. The welcome screen to set up your device will appear shortly ...
thanks but there is a problem i have no acces to ppc from my computer & actvivesync dont localize it.
try THIS method, there is no need to reflash, you canceled the hard reset and now the things are f***ed up. so if another button hard reset does not help then MTTY method is your only hope
i did what the tutorial says but when mtthy i don't know wht to do cuz it don't correspond whit the tutorial

execute the listed commands only, then reset and then reflash the rom you want, it is that simple, and everything is covered in WIKI with a WIZARD
it is explained very well there, just don't skip any step and you will be all right

Htc 0300 in tri colour

I have a HTC ELF 0300 it is stucking in the tri colour screen with the following
IPL: 2.26.0002
SPL:2.28.0000
i have followed the advice i found on this forum of flashing the ROM but when i try the rom update utility it comes up with error 270 about the image also i tried the mtty process but it wont open the usb port
i tried flashing the SD Card but it then says "Invalid Certificate"
i'm a total loss and totally stuck..
any help appricated
Have you really read this sticky thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406721 before flashing ?
Have you used "search" function with f.e. "stuck in bootloader" before posting ?
If not, please do and you'll find very useful solutions
i have read the theads over and over again and finally worked out mtty and worked out my phone is
elf0300
tmob050
it's still in tri colour mode yet i cant find a rom for it...
i tried the nbh file flashing to the memory card
but no luck....
heelllp
Do you know if you have Elf or Elfin?
It is essential for flashing original Rom Elf: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2045325&postcount=2
Elfin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2045051&postcount=1
i haave an elf (p3450) well thats what it says on my box
i cant find the orginal rom for this and i'm totally stuck
any help is greatrully recived
also i have tried CID unlocking it so i can put custom roms on it but my computer wont active sync when the phone is connected through the USB port...
Also, what did you do to get your phone stuck in bootloader in the first place?
my brother did it to my phone before i'd even had chance to use it , and i don't know what he did.....sorry x
Try this and follow the instructions exactly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347700 and report pls
i tried this yesterday at first when i pressed enter i didnt get >cmd (which is what happening now)
then when i do get it eventually after many tries it sasys
cmd55 or something failed
and stays on 0% on a gray screen
sorry if i sound stupiud.
Ok
First you connect your device, then right click on active sync icon on your computer, chose connection settings and change according to the instructions then continue with mtty.exe
i have done this
when i press enter i dont get anything come up....
yesterday i managed to get it up though and just stayed gray screen at 0%
Try again a few times making sure you didn't overlook any detail.
I just found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3395787&postcount=155 possibly mtty version doesn't work
2- Another possibility is unbricker rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446242
3- gold card method (the links are dead so you should pm Dsixda)
Flash from the SD card:
ELF0IMG.nbh on a FAT32 filesystem, complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
1. Format microSD card from your computer.
2. Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.
3. Rename the .NBH file to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
4. With microSD card inserted in the phone, start the bootloader (the bootloader is invoked by hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus).
5. Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button (or the volume slider down).
6. Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait.
Will try now and keep u updated
manny thanks x
Follow the instructions until you get cmd only, then return to the tutorial to continue
Good luck
Just an update
i downloaded the nbh file you sugested and tried both
1) flashing from the SD card by renaming file - when i do this is says checking sd contents then goes back to my bootlooder screen
2) running the romupdateutility.exe with the nbh file in the same folder it goes through then i get error 294 incorrect vender
i am unable to pm Dsixda about the gold card
i have no idea what else to try
ps: when running mtty i still get a gray screen then the bootloader screen.
Sorry to hear this, I'm out of ideas. Just some details not to miss:
try a hard reset
writing "ELF0IMG.nbh" (elf zero img and not elf o img)
google for mtty and download a few versions
Wait for an answer from Dsixda for gold card if you can't find your original rom
Creating your GoldCard
I don't remember well the procedure but you can try the following:
If you have access to a working pda or a working GPS device - PNA which is powered by WM (even modified) then you have to follow these steps:
Download this package and save it in your C:\ drive.
Run it.
(it will extract all the necessary files in C:\itsutilsbin (folder) and it will start the setup of Perl)
When the Perl - installation is finished run Perl Package Manager from Windows Start Menu.
Add repositories.
Name: itsme
Location: http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/perl/ppm
Name: theoryx
Location: http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/package.xml
(HowTo: run Preferences from the Perl Package Manager menu and switch to the repository tab)
After database synchronization install these packages:
Crypt-DES
XdaDevelopers-NbfUtils
(HowTo: at the main window of Perl Package manager find those packages, mark them for install (the icon with green plus, next to the search bar) and run marked action(green arrow icon))
Format the sd card(FAT32) and insert it in a working pda.
Connect the working pda to the pc , wait to sync and run psdread.bat from C:\itsutilsbin.
Find an official rom from here with a ModelID which matches your device's one
Example: If your pda is an Elfin and you have ModelID ELF030000 then get the below rom from that thread.
RUU_Elfin_TMO_NL_2.26.114.52_4.1.13.52_03.08.90_BL UE_Ship.exe (T-MOBILE)
Device: ELF030000
CID: T-MOB003
Version: 2.26.114.3
Language: NLD
Click to collapse
Extract the RUU_Signed.nbh, rename it to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the sd card.
Fully charge your battery, insert the sd card to your pda, enter bootloader and flash from memory card
(Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button (or the volume down button)).
If everything went ok then you can use a HardSPL or a USPL to CID Unlock your phone and update the rom with one of your choice.
If you don't have a working pda use a card reader - Ubuntu (even from a LiveCD) and QMAT are required
Regards!
i don't have a working pda to use :-( the only pda i have is my bricked one :-(

There is a way to use a card reader instead.
Using Ubuntu LiveCD and QMAT

just follow the tutorial on this thread ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6391896&postcount=1
If you just want reset to default factory settings, you must press all together: power + green button + red button + reset with stylus (bothom of the phone).
If you want to change language of hw6915 you must reflash with ROM update utility, but make sure there are no rom update files for radio (RadioOS.nbf RadioFS.nbf) as they could brick GSM part of the phone.
Thank you for this link about how to reinstall os, but still i dont understand anythink in this tutorial about os. Can someone make a video turotial?
If you are following that tutorial be aware! Do not "task 28 55aa" with mtty - that will cause change of the device Product ID and you will not be able to use official HP upgrade tools anymore.
Why it is that you want to reinstall rom? Does hard reset not working?

I try to do hard reset, but stil i have same problems with this hp hw6915. Problems is: i cant remove some programs, windows is flickering lines. memory to low, i try increase memory by removing some programs but it does not work and t.t.
It is true that default software on hw6915 is slow - you should use memorycard for software to get better results.
If you are really willing to try to reinstall, I can only give you this one link

but use it at your own risk - it is possible that results will be the same.
What you think about this?
How to write custom rom WM on hp iPAQ hw6915.
------------------------------------------------
1.Connect your device to PC by ActiveSync (download it from microsoft page)
2.Run "Command prompt" from folder "SPL vG.39" (if using vista/7 RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)
3.Enter this command: pdocwrite spl -n0 -b 0x20000 0 0x80000 (WAIT UNTIL IT FINISHES).
This command replaces a file in the ROM which allows you to flash ''non-original roms'',
basically software CID unlocking which allows flashing of ''cooked roms''
4.You will get a warning on your hp regarding a dll file (itsutils.dll), PRESS YES
5.Put your device in bootloader mode. (hold the two selection buttons next to the joystick
and shortly tap the reset button with your stylus)
6.Open activesync, go to connections and untick "Allow USB connections"
7.Extract "Sable_G4_1.21_UK_ROM.rar" and run "Sable_RUU.exe"
8.Press on the big "Upgrade" button
9.There will be a progress bar, when it's done it should say something like "Update finished !!"
10.Go back to activesync and re-tick "Allow USB connections".
The manual you quoted is correct for case if you want to upgrade to non-stock rom like some custom made Windows Mobile 6 rom (if you already found one), but you must ensure that there are no RadioOS.nbf and RadioFS.nbf in the folder where Sable_RUU.exe resides or else you might ruin your gsm.
If you just want to reinstall Windows Mobile 5 then there is no need for "pdocwrite spl -n0 -b 0x20000 0 0x80000" (as it is only needed to allow non-stock rom flashing).
So in order to do wm5 reinstall i just must follow my writen instruction but in this case i need skip 2, 3 and 4 steps, and start from 5 step? (of course first i need plug my device to PC by ActiveSync). ?
What is Radio?
In Sable_RUU.exe i found such files: CEOS.nbf, EnterBL, GetDeviceData and Sable_RUU.
In SPL vG.39 folder i found such files: Command Prompt, itsutils.dll, libeay32.dll, msvcr71.dll, pdocwrite und spl.
Can someone help me!
I was doing this update tranquility, I have a hp ipaq 6915 and use the windows7.
I did the first part of this
process, which installs the. dll. All right so far. I was
for the second stage and the program Sable RUU erased my
WM5, ok, so that after this process began to windows
search for the driver usb ipaq, of course, was
disconnected, then this error appeared Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error : 501.
Now I'm without my operating system.
And what I do now?
From what I undestood from your one before last post (the files included gave me idea) you have downloaded wm6 update utilities and rom. So in this case you must take all the steps.
If you want wm5 then you must download link http://multiupload.com/UTYDNBZ145 and just plug device to usb (before that put it in the bootloader mode: by pressing power button + button next to green + button next to red + reset with stylus), wait to connect and then run Sable_RUU.exe
About your question... Radio rom files are sometimes included in distributed upgrade files, so you must ensure they are deleted from the folder before start flashing. These files are usually responsible - there already been two cases to my devices - for killing the GSM chip data, so you can not use your device for phone calls anymore lets sey it is very bad scenario, so I am warning you to not to break your device!
Seems like you are left without any os at this very moment, so you should now install wm5 again and if you then want to upgrade wm6 repeat all the steps (including pdocwrite command).
If you are just stuck in bootloader google for UNI_ExitBootloader.exe
So bootloader mode is when my hp hw6915 screen show this: Serial Hp G.39 or when hp hw6915 screen is totaly off? When i try use UNI_ExitBootloader.exe it does not work because it say: Error - Cannot open USB port. So i try again and again but this time i disable ActiveSync... but still in not work. So i try an alternative method. I download Virtual box, then i install win xp, download Sable_G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk ant try run. IT WORKS
THNAKS YOU JOGIJS ;-) Now i need your help to update my device from wm5 to wm6 o greater.
First of all - there are no official hp releases upgrade to wm6 or greater, but as I think you found one of unofficial upgrades to wm6 made by hackers.
Then - Sable_G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk is the same as in my link http://multiupload.com/UTYDNBZ145 only difference that my file is without the radio roms.
About upgrading to wm6:
As I said before - now you need to follow instructions you posted before and do all the steps to upgrade to wm6 (remember about my radio warning! ) as you have found correct manual for wm6 upgrading.
If you understand russian you could try this wm6 upgrade - http://www.multiupload.com/QTP68IW7AM
About your question:
You are in bootloader mode when there are serial/USB + hp logo + G.39 on the screen.
If you have USB connectivity problems on w7 32bit, use this driver - http://www.multiupload.com/IE15IM9DHT Always check your device manager to ensure your Sable device is recognized!
One more question ;-) In my Hp Hw6915 i install wm for G3 chip, but i noticed that mine is G4 chip. So in future this can cause problems on mine device?
I think it is just a mislabel as mine current device is also G4 (as seen on hp's asset viewer) and it does not run into any problems by flashing OS
Maybe confusion is set by bootloader's title "G.39"... I think so, but I am not sure, what caused this for true.
Despite all - these roms and utilities worked for me (except for radio roms of course).
same problem
hello i have hp ipaq hw6915 in norvegian language i try to use your tutorial and now appear bootscreen (USB+Logo+vG.39) how can i do for resolve my problem because i try to HARD RESET and appear same USB+Logo+vG.39, you can reupload your application to other website?
under the boot screen it's .39. it's fine.
what do you want to do with your ipaq? still using wm 5 or wm 6?
I can give you a link on xda which has all the explanation on how to upgrade to wm 6 but if you want to stay on wm5, I suggest you do a hard reset. if you say after hard reset you still cannot remove program, I am quite confused. Because hard reset really put you in a basic start where everything is cleared.
try hard reset one more time...
if you still have problem, post again here... I will try to help you as much as I can...
i try HARD RESET 1000 times appear same USB(or SERIAL if is not connect on pc)+Logo+vG.39, i want to try WM6, if you can help me pls offer a solution.
download this file, unpack and run Sable_RUU
http://www.4shared.com/rar/NokqR8Q2/121_UK.html
worked fine for my hp 6915 with Danish rom - I have English now

[Q] HTC surround SPL downgrade help

I have an HTC surround
Bootloader version (SPL) 4.3.2250
Radio software version: 5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21H
I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
In order to install RSPL i need my SPL version to be lowered (ex: 1.03 or 1.52)
I am trying to use RUU with a Cingular Radio image to flash it into phone.
But my device is not being detected by WIndows Mobile Device Center and the RUU gives Error 204. (the device is in bootloader mode with USB displaying instead of Serial)
In attempt to try with activesync in windows xp in a virtual machine. The active sync also doesnot detect my device.
I've tried reinstalling repairing active sync/ WMDC. I also have Windows Phone SDK 7.1 installed.
The problem persists. Please help.

Yes. I get the tri color screen and at the bottom it says USB instead of Serial.
Also, My phone gets detected in Windows Phone device manager when its ON and not in bootloader mode.
But even Windows Phone device manager does not detect my phone when my phone in bootloader mode is connected to PC.
P.S: In my PC's device manager there are certain "Unknown Device" , drivers for which my PC does not have.
too busy laughing at a n00bs helping n00bs to explain better... (rofl)
but here is a link for both Radios and a mini SPL downgrade tutorial. here.
to get into Bootloader.
1) power off device.
2) press & hold Volume - button
3) while doing #2, press the Power button
4) continue doing #2, until device powers to a Tri-Color screen (aka Bootloader)
regards.
Please help
My surround goes in enter usb host mode and when I connect it to Y cable the light in card reader flashes once its says loading but suddenly the phone restarts and den again it goes into the usb host mode

Please help.
What should I do then the mmc is not getting detected then??
Please suggest something so that I can downgrade my Htc surround to SPL 1.52
check that Goldcard was created correctly. e.g. created Goldcard image from your microSD's CID.
check Goldcard setup is correct. e.g. device shouldn't power on instantaneously.
if still nothing, try a different microSD, or y-cable, etc.
Gold Card created successfully. whats that wid the microSD's CID?
Will changing of MicroSD help.?
Y cable's perfect double checked it.
sounds like that is the problem.
goldcard.img needs to be created using the microSD's CID.
get the CID from the microSD, then use re skills to create a goldcard.img specific to your microSD.

I used a WinMo device to get the CID of my microSD card.
as the CID tool from revskills failed to get the CID from the microSD card, as well.

Goldcard Method
Hello friends, after failing to downgrade the SPL version using the Rom update utility, I tried the Goldcard method and succeeded all the way till installing a custom ROM. I am listing steps which I followed and address the infinite reboot loop problem:
1. I created a Y-cable using two male to female USB cables (pic attached)

I was having the same infinite reboot loop problem with my Surround 7 (Mondrian) when I was using a 4GB microSD card. But then I used the Goldcard tool to make my Kingston DT 4GB pen drive a gold card. It succeeded.
3. After the Goldcard update was successful, I installed RSPL using the setup provided by DFT (Dark Force Team).

4. Then I installed a WP7.8 custom ROM by ansar.

If any doubts I'll be happy to clear them up. Please hit thanks if you found this post useful.

Bro my Cell reboots as soon as I connect my cell to the y cable.
It shows loading for a while but then cell restarts and then it gets stuck on the enter usb host mode.
I made the custom gold card via CID of the microSD but still no help.
Does anyone really knows the complete and CLEAR instructions? Thanks !
I have been going around in circles with HTC Surround very similar to this guy here. Mine is fully unlocked AT&T with SPL 4.30 and radio 5.69.x
b
My phone was playing up a lot and put a new SD card. Four hours later was doing the same. Power on and off itself.
Maybe the phone is faulty and I assumed ROM dramas.
I do not know what the Gold Card is. Info seems to be all over the place........................sorry.
To cut the story short I used DFT to install RSPL 1.52 (though mine was 4.3 and maybe JTAG kit??????)
After that I found the correct RUU and radio, etc, etc.
Installed HSPL 1.52 and then tried to flash.
Flash goes well till 98% and then does not move any more. Tried 4 times and same thing.
Phone comes up white background and HTC logo in light green and then beeps 7 times ?????
Should I get a hammer ?
Does anyone knows?
Thanks in advanced !
try this tutorial for Goldcard.
