HTC 6900 SPRINT Photo Albumn - Touch CDMA General

I have no trouble putting pictures ONTO the phone, but can't figure out how to download pictures off the phone to my PC.
I use Active Sync without a problem uploading, but don't know where to look for the pictures I take with the camers function.
I cannot find any folder that contains those photos taken on the camera.
Thank you for any help.

[HELP] Photos and Videos Thingy

Hi Guys
I got 2 problems related to the Album.
1. My photos appear extremly blurry on the main screen (the part where you flick through them). It's not a huge deal, but I wouldnt mind some focus.
2. When I make my way to a video album the videos are only displayed as windows media icons. No text and no thumbnail video preview. As a result I have to guess which one of the 50 videos is the one I want to show a friend.
Please help me.
Unbelievable
I just can't believe absolutely no-one has a solution, or some advice at the least.
If I can't get help here, I am doomed.
I thought this forum was over-run by brainiacs.
Guess not.

Hey!
To be honest....it's not a solution I can offer you...because I think everybody has the same issue with the blurry pictures and no preview video, but I think I can explain why....The main reason I guess it's blurry, is because it will take too much time for the device to pre-load the images on the sceen ie...especially if you have many high resolution pictures, it takes forever to load for every picture...the same with the music...that can also takes some time to load when you slide to the music tab.....
for the video the same reason I guess..
Please anybody...correct me if i'm wrong....
BTW...If you see the amount of views for this topic, you'll see that a lot of people see your problem, but don't have a solution for it....so please newby...don't complain allright??? we all try to help each other......
I had the same problem very blurry photos. But I solved it on mine.
Copy the original photos onto your diamond into the internal storage. I put mine in my pictures for while I did this.
Then on the diamond go onto your people tab and on each of your favourite people click on the menu bottom (bottom left).
Select change picture.
Then select the photo from the location you copied them too earlier..
That's it.
Do that for each of your favourite people.
It seems outlook contacts get saved with much lower resolution photo's but if you add the photo's on the phone it's a much higher res.
Carl
BTW I deleted the folder I'd copied into internal storage once i'd completed this and the photo's all stayed so there's no need to have the copied photo's permanently on the phone

That's a good answer nice man! I knew the problem was also on the Favorites Contacts tab, where the photo's were blurry as well, but I didn't know you could also fix it on the Photo/Video Tab...!
Nice tip!
me confused
Capt_Carl, I think you are confusing "blurry pictures in Photo & Video Tab" (my problem) with "blurry contact pictures in the Favorite People Tab" (solved this a while ago).
Am I just misunderstanding Capt_Carl.
What do you think Pietje_1985?

Yes....to be honest...i'm confused as well.. because of the fact that I knew there was a problem with the Favorite People tab and the pictures, but for the Photo/Video tab, I still think you can't solve that problem....... I thought Capt_Carl had the answer, but I think not after I read your post MaD-CoW
Ne ways...I hope maybe somebody else is familiar with the problems and somebody has got a solution to it.....
Cheers

Has anyone solved the blurry photos in the photo & video tab?
I have the same problem. 700 views and still no luck. I'll wait.
I'll join in the wait as well.
Update?
Maybe an update to the new official ROM 2.03 could help?
With the 2.03 ROM the problem started for me. On 1.93 it was fine.
Make the pictures 240x320

[Q] Duplicate Album Title

Hi All,
I've got an interesting problem and I haven't found any hints elsewhere on this site or the interwebs. I have an HTC HD2 and I used the registry mod to enable GPS photos. Latest English ROM and no major mods other than Cookie's Home Tabs (which is awesome). I can take GPS pictures, show them on the map on the phone and upload them to Facebook.
The issue is, I can't find the GPS pictures anywhere on the storage device. All my photos go to /Storage Card/DCIM/Media100, but there are no GPS photos in there.
When I look at my Photo Albums on the native photo viewer, I have two Albums both named Media100. In one of these albums I have all my regular images, the same that show up in the folder listed above. In the other folder, I have all my GPS photos which I can handily view in the album (so I know they're still here somewhere).
If I search the storage card while on ActiveSync, I can find all the GPS photos that I'm searching for, but I can't access them to copy them onto my laptop.
This is a perplexing problem. It looks like somehow I have a memory naming issue and I don't know how to sort it out and I don't want to lose all my pictures. My last resort will be to go through and select each one and email it to myself, but that will take some time.
Any ideas out there?
Dan

[Q] Duplicate pics from camera

I am running windows 7 and when i take pics from my camera on mytouch 4g it is
makeing duplicate copies of the same pic i just took. When i transfer to my computer it shows up as a two different resolutions of same pic. So i went to astro file manager to find where is it saving two different copies of the same pic. This is what i found. sdcard/DCIM/.thumnails and 100media. Why is the phone saving under thumnails and 100media idk. Plz someone help. I already did hard reset. Also i call tech support and they don't know why is my phone doing this.
Every device, even your PC, creates thumbnails in order to display the pics quickly and seamlessly at a resolution that is more manageable than 5 MP. Did you not know the purpose of a thumbnail?

Photo synch to Dropbox

Probably more of a question about Dropbox than the phone.
I have it set to synch photos from the phone to Dropbox. Now I have accounts set up in Just Pictures for access to my online photos. And, all of my online photos are also synching to Dropbox.
Any thoughts on how to stop that, and upload just pictures that are actually on the phone?
Just to clarify, you have "JustPictures!" and Dropbox installed on your phone. Everything you have posted online to JustPictures! automatically downloads to your phone. Dropbox then uploads all of those photos to your Dropbox account?
By default, the Android Dropbox app only automatically uploads photos taken with the phone camera. So anything in /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/ (or /mnt/extSdCard/dcim/ if you've set your camera to save to an external SD card).
Files in any other folders need to be manually uploaded in the Android Dropbox app. The first thing I'd check would be the location where JustPictures! is synching files to. If Justpictures downloads your online photos in to one of the phone camera folders above, then dropbox will think those are new pictures from the camera and upload them to dropbox.
Hope that helps.
What you say makes sense, and what I would expect.
I'll check out your theory. However, I am skeptical, only because it is downloading full resolution (ie 5184X3186 photos), and I don't think the full res ones get downloaded, but I sure could be wrong. I do feel it is downloading some I haven't even looked at.
I'll post back on what I find.
Yeah I did some testing and dropbox will upload any pictures/videos that show up in your /dcim folder.
I tested by copying pictures I had saved in another folder to the /dcim folder.
/mnt/sdcard/download ----> /mnt/sdcard/dcim/
dropbox uploaded any pictures in ../dcim or ../dcim/camera.
I do not even find these pictures on my phone. New or old one.
But...I do now have a theory.
I have an ASUS tablet, and I had used it while on a trip (from which many of these pictures are in the Dropbox upload for phone folder) to copy the pics from an SD card to a hard drive, pictures from my Canon Camera.
Now, while none of them were in the DCIM folder on the SD card, the pics on the SD card from the camera are in DCIM/100CANON. It would seem it copied them from there.
BUT...I did this while in Yellowstone, and was just connected via a poor WiFi at the lodge. I'm impressed it moved that much data up.
This is the only think I can think of and I guess it makes sense. I turned off the function on the tablet in Dropbox for copying camera photos.
Thanks for the input. Got me going down the right track.
Ah, yep. That'd be it. I think dropbox looks in all subfolders of /dcim
Glad you got it figured out.

Google Photos Issue?

Got my 6P yesterday and getting it set up. I Have an issue I just can't seem to get around easily. I have all my pics from my last phone stored on my computer. If I copy those pics to the internal storage of my new phone google photos will create duplicates correct? If so how can I avoid this? I'm sure I am overlooking something. Thanks
I think it intelligently skips dupes based on file name and timestamp info. I had Google Photos on my Nexus 6 and loaded it onto my 6p to get access to all the old ones. I then remembered that I had a ton of photos in Dropbox and Copy with their respective photo backup options from multiple years on old phones (before Google Photos existed). I went on my PC and downloaded ALL of them (like 3,000 photos) then uploaded via Google Photos web. Some of those were already in there for sure, and it does not appear there are duplicates. I would try it with a small test that you know for sure is in there and see if it dupes, and if it doesn't, just upload from PC. No need to move to your phone first.
I used Chrome and I just dragged and dropped the photos onto the Google Photos tab and it uploaded. I let it run overnight and it did almost 2,000 photos in one shot, just took a while.

Thanks, that kinda worked. I disabled backup before copying the pics to my phone just in case it started backing things up. It did appear there were many duplicates but it was easy to see what was a duplicate bu the not backed up icon in the pics. Once I removed them I turned back up back on. Minor inconvenience.
