Since the arrival of my Rhodium yesterday I´m looking for a new way of managing ringtones.
With my Kaiser, I use Inesoft´s Phone 4, which enables me to assign any ringtone to any category. Since WIndows Mobile syncs categories with Outlook, managing contacts into categories and assigning them ringtones used to be so easy. Problem is, Phone 4 only works if the caller ID function si ENABLED, and I don´t want to use it with Rhodium.
Soooo... what apps around there you guys are using to manage and assign ringtones to categories ? Ringo ? Any other options ?

So, if caller ID is not ENABLED, how would the software, or even phone itself know what number is calling you (to pick the right ringtone for the contact)?

Well, I don´t see that as a problem, there are lots of apps that work in the background (eg. gyrator for example, ActiveSync, PhotoContacts Pro, etc.).

How do you define Caller ID not Enabled? If your SIM card caller ID service is not enabled, then you will not get caller ID therefore no software can pick the correct ringtone.
err... which do you mean...
1. Caller ID application is not running
2. Caller ID not Enable (turn off reciving caller ID information from your TelCo)
3. Caller ID application is running in the background
???
I think he meant for caller id function in Inesoft to which it will override the photo id of the default Rhodium with Inesoft big photo id if you want to use the group/categories ringtone.
I use ringo mobile to enable the group/categories ringtone with good result and yet the default photo id screen of Rhodium is working perfectly.

Since New ROM 1.06 CALLER ID did not show pictures anymore ???

If you do a preview on CALLED ID when you affect a picture to a CALLER, the picture and the special ring will show and play
but after you close everything, and you ask the person to call you in order to verified, no pictures SHOW??
I did try several friends and all the same ??
Is that because I have a new version of caller ID 1.20 (build 18586 )

OK I found the solution (myself)
Finally I browsed to IA caller Options from the main menu, then selected General. In the General screen, disabled (un-check) the Display Photo During Incoming or Waiting Call checkbox, selected Done to make it effective. Then, I repeated the same steps to enable (check) the Display photo During Incoming or Waiting call checkbox.
Since then I got a few calls with template displayed again.
Hope it helps others.
I was also looking on how to disable IE CALLER (in order to install a substitute CALLER ID program)
here is how to do this :
Instructions for disabling IA Caller ID
(IA Caller ID is NOT Photo Contacts !!!):
Option #1
1. Open IA Caller ID
2. Press Menu>Options>General and un-check the "Display photo during incoming or waiting call" box.
Option #2
1. Open File Explorer on your Pocket PC
3. Browse to \Windows\StartUp\
4. Delete (or move) "IA_CID_Startup.exe"
5. Soft-reset the phone (turn-off, turn-on).

Does it use its own Caller ID software? I liked PocketX Photo Contscts because it has its own Caller ID module that replaces one we have in JAM. But I did not like the rest the programm does If they could do just Caller ID + assign pictures and ringtones I'd buy it.
Tried Sygic and didn't like it. I want to set my own pictures for incoming calls, not cartoons.
Does anyone know how to make the picture of contact bigger in caller ID?

They all (and Caller ID) suck! There's no good caller id software for pocket pc phone edition.
NO REGEDIT WORK AROUND?
OTHER WISE THE I-MADE CALLED ID WAS BETTER THE ALL OTHER PROGRAMS MENTIONED.
BUT I AM NOT INTERESTED INSTALLING NEW APS FOR IT! THE WM5 SYNCS WITH OUTLOOK.

Photo Contacts Pro V4 works well. It's Compatible with WM5 and you can also assign different ring tones and phone profiles.

I bought it and I really regret it. It does not work when you are using the password option in WM5 and that really sucks becasue who is willing to use his valuable Pocket PC without at least a password protection ?
Does anybody know if there is application like call manager for my i-mate? I would like to limit some incoming calls and let others come through.

Is there a program like this for our phone ? I know i had one for my old Nokia 7650 that was great, on weekends if work called it just hang up on them.
I would like a program that hangs up unwanted calls so they dont get diverted to the voice mail.
Any progs do that ?

Hi! I Use Call Sms Blocker + SmsOrganizer and i'm in FULL Stealth Mode
Call Sms Blocker hang Up blacklisted numbers before the first ring...
You can set to MOVE sms (blacklisted) from Inbox to another dir once received, then with sms organizer it will be Hided!!! :twisted: :evil:

installed prog successfully but filter only works on first call, after that cannot block anymore. :shock:

Is there any simple Caller ID app except Inesoft Addressbook and PhotoContacts (PRO)?
i dont need any extended contact, cuz i use PocketCM contact.
neither i need any extended sound schemes, cuz most of my time my phone is on vibrate mode, and i also communicate through mms/sms 80% of my time.
but i need a full screen caller id prefetably with photos, cuz the standart tray notification really sux (

wish it could support several phone number formats, or at least two, cuz in Japan there are two main format
##-####-#### for land lines
and ###-####-#### for mobile
I'm familiar with s2u2 but its s2a function doesn't always come up, meaning i cant answer the incoming call.
blackstone dialer doesn't work properly, something about me having an x1a.
What i'd love is to have the s2a feature from this w/o the dialer

You can disable the Inesoft dialer, contact screen, call history etc and just use the caller ID function. That's what I do.

I use inesoft phone 4 and am very happy with the caler id function too.

when i had the trial i couldnt find where to disable those function. how do i do that?
Also is there a free solution? Even w/ a dialer if it has similar features to the standard xperia dialer.
