I have problem with WM6.5 Default Dialer When I Didn't add any
skin from htc for dialer ihave to push and hold 1 or 2 second on kepad
to it response i solved this problem by adding Topaz dialer Tachi
PhoneCanvas (I Recooked after adding
the package and i made the phone skin Enabled : 0 i mean that
problem solved in WM 6.5 Default Dialer )
but there is another problem became and its don't show any contacts
Up of the keypad ( WM 6.5 Default Dialer ) i can see the scrollbar
but i cant see any contacts look like the font color is White Maybe
Can any body solve my problem please
guys i forget to say even when i select the contact up of Keypad its don't show me its selected
all i can see is white up of keypad please help me i want to use WM Default dialer

You have to remove TouchFlo Package i think removing that package will work with only
in build 23001 or later

I have a dutch HTC P4350 and I hate the green today theme.
But when I change the today theme, the device asks for a soft reser and when its again up and running the dailer skin has disappeared.
I only have grey buttons which are ugly (imho).
Has anybody this problem?
Can it be fixed?
I was thinking that the problem is a invalid link in the registry to the default dailer theme because when I restore the original htc green today theme, also the dailer is restored (after a soft reset.)

I have this problem also. I have tried two hard resets and nothing works.
Can't say I've ever used the skin, so don't know what it's doing, but the long way around might be to get the .tsk file (the theme) and decompile it with WinCE Cab manager to see what registry settings it's changing.
Then just ensure that those registry keys stay as they should after changing the theme.

Hmm, decompiling the tsk file, seems to be difficult.
I spoke to HTC support, but they don't know the problem exist.
Think it's a bug in the rom or ext rom because I have no problem with my HTC P3600.

On my HTC Herald (p4350) the Smart Dialer Application skin has a light gray background and the text (caller/callee, elapsed time, etc.) is in white and therefore barely readable.
I changed the following key
HKLM/Software/HTC/?PhoneCanvas/Task0
in that I changed the value of the REG_DWORDs
DIALER/portrait/text:textColor
DIALER/landscape/text:textColor
from their default value FFFFFF (hex) to 000000 (hex). That changed the color of the text from white to black in both orientation modes (after soft reset).
I tried it on my brand new device and dont have this problem. I changed to the standard windows theme and I got a grey dialerskin (with smart dialing working)
Smart Dialing
I had a problem with the HTC Dialler skin disabling the smart dialling. After reading many forums i gave up on trying to get that particular skin working and opted for one of these http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/GH_ShowArticle.asp?HID=35&CATID=1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9|10|11|12 The black skin is a little too black for my liking and was overriding the "HTC new theme". I just changed to another theme and back again and hey presto, colour scheme as I wanted it AND my smart dialler working. Haven't looked at the memory usage yet but seems to work fine after the initial wait on first use.
For starters: I have the T-Mobile USA HD2.
I installed the DJC BLACK/BLUE dialer, it caused the extended bar issue in the screen shot. Then, I simply uninstalled the dialer, soft reset... and then the issue was present on the default HTC dialer. Also, some of the black shading remained from the BLACK/BLUE dialer on the default HTC dialer, basically corrupting the standard dialer altogether.
So, then I figured that I'd try to install the WM6.5 version of that dialer -- considering it was reported that it was working on WM6.5 without issues... well, it works in landscape, the colors are correct, and everything seems fine; HOWEVER, as you can see by the screen shot, the overlapped (TALL) bar still branches out from the base of the dialer.
IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS? A REGISTRY EDIT? SOMETHING THAT COULD PERHAPS REMOVE THAT BAR OR MAKE IT STANDARD SIZE AGAIN? DOES ANYONE HAVE THE .CAB FILE FOR THE ORIGINAL HTC DIALER? Thanks in advance...

Did you check your registry for the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PhoneCanvas\LargeBtn and check if the value bLargeBtnLayout is 0 or 1 ?
Not sure it has any effect anyway ; I'm trying to remember where its position is defined (it has been a frequent bug on WM6.5.x cooked ROMs - the opposite problem from yours, but still annoying).
The icons names are Dialer_Contact_down.png and Dialer_Contact_up.png, but their design isn't the problem : they're always rather small and the phone software (and/or registry settings) are responsible for their bad centering.

It fixes the position incommin call but what about the caller ID??? i guess thats only fixed with the change of the cprog to a working version

My phone canvas fixes scrollbar, keyboard button in softkeybar and incoming call position, also caller id work, but I tested this in 235xx buids and I haven't tested in others builds.
The only thing that should be fixed is call history .
tested your phcanrc and phcanhtc they fixes the button and scroll bar.. incominc al position is ok for me... history is ok for me (ATM) but the caller ID in 23658 LG branch dont works, tried the COM8 cprog on LG branch 23568 and the phone works only for one call then it crash (cant make or receive again a ophone call) so I guess to fix the Caller ID pic and or ID number must have your COM5 cprog.exe.. can you share it please.

I think you have to change not only cprog.exe but also pimstore.dll and tpcutil.dll.
Here are modules from 23569 build. I think also that it's better cooking this files in a rom than overwrite them.
Let me know if these works.

We are triying to recopilate all phonecanvas ressoluitons as possible as everybody wants... so if you have any of this fixes for VGA please post them here

As before... if i change the cprog.exe from COM5 builds to LG branch the phone starts loosing calls, so its not a good fix
lets try the same canvas with a com5 build 23569
+ que ppc there's a complete vga dialer port for wm6.5.x in the tachi phone canvas thread ( i think is the rhodium dialer ) but i didn't find it

So I've added EXSTYLE = 0x02000000 to phcanrc.dll from PhoneCanvas 3.40.33475.0 (from diamond or touch pro), but I still get the scroll bar on dialer screen after a soft reset. If I close the dialer and open it again, the scroll bar is not present (but will show up again the 1st time it is opened after soft reset). I've applied the fix to a Leo_2G_4_2_6212011 phone canvas and it worked as expected, but I am having this problem with the older dialer. Does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening? Thanks.
There are multiple lines you need to add not only one.

Yes, I know. I added it to the proper lines according the posts here on XDA. The problem only occurs the 1st time it is opened and will not re-occur until the device is soft reset. I've added the exstyle lines to phcanrc.dll for several dialers (all newer than the one I am having problems with) and have not had this problem.
Hello, all, I am new to editing Phone Canvas and don't know how to fix the keypad icon overlap issue in 6.5.x. Can anyone teach me how to do so or edit the files for me? There are two packages in the attachments, please fix them all. They are all VGA phone canvases.

I know the default Windows Mobile dialer skin is limited but even so I think I am missing something with it. If I open the phone and then begin typing a name the Leo HTC Phone Canvas automatically searches for a name in the contacts list. With the Windows Mobile default dialer this doesn't seem to happen and I can't believe this is a feature MS would have left out?
I have a pretty stock Leo ROM but have changed the Windows Mobile build and added in a few applications. I have been toying around with 5.2.23152 & 5.2.23569 and prefer 5.2.23152 but have the Phone Canvas issues (no Caller ID, Call History etc). I have tried all the 'fixes' posted (replace cprog.exe etc) however none of them fully fix the problems so I thought why not use the default Windows Mobile Dialer Skin? I have set the [HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled] to 0 and have the default skin, however the dial parser (?) doesn't work?
Any pointers?

Fixed it by not including the Phone Canvas in the build. Bit odd as I thought disabling the Phone Skin would have worked, ahh well...
The skin got to disabled, and some reg needs to be deleted in order for WM dialer to work, if htc dialer is cooked in i think. I am going to search for that thread, will share when I find it.

Yep, the HTC Dialer (Phone Canvas Enhancement 2G v4.2.62520173131.0) would normally be cooked in. Due to the various compatibility issues with this Dialer Canvas and WM 6.5.x I wanted to 'switch it off' and use the default MS Dialer Canvas, but leave the HTC one there so I could switch it on if need be. It looks like I can't just switch it off and need to remove it from the ROM build.
Ho hum, I rebuilt the ROM but excluded the HTC Phone Canvas and the MS one now works as I expected. Although the MS Phone Canvas looks less pretty than the HTC one, it has about the same functionality..... I think I can live with it to get a better WM build.
Does anyone know if the default Windows Mobile Phone Canvas works with the Light Sensor? i.e. can it be configured to turn the screen off when held to your ear? It isn't by default and I have tweaked the various settings via Schaps Advanced config tool but can't get it to work?

I've got a HTC Touch HD, with a french ROM : Maw_test3L FRE, without Manilla.
It's a 6.5.3 Windows, buil 28006)
I'va tried to change my dialer skin, with some others dowloaded here (RR3 BW, IPC, Dusk), but nothing to do, it's always the same, I can't change my dialer.
I've tried to change the 1.8 option with HD Tweak (HD or Windows Mobile Standart), but nothing.
I think it's the WM standart (see the picture), and it's really no good, the buttons are too small and the letters are too small for my eyes.
Perhaps is it the ROM ?
Could someone help me ?

Its not a standard dialer, it is themed, please make sure the dialer is for your phone because when you install and nothing happens, then it must be that the dialer is for something else and what you have is different.
Please check the thread of the skin to make sure your device is supported or better, look for skins in respective device forum.
