Hi there
Whilst playing around with the start menu I have accidently deleted the Tomtom .lnk file. Anyone know how to recreate or restore it.
Cheers Guys
Go to the Tom Tom folder -> with a file explorer (es. TotalCommander) you must create a TomTom exe link -> cut/paste to Windows\Start Menu\Programs
D'rath
alternativley just reinstall the app

Hi All
Can anybody guide me how to create shortcut for any programs in WM5
that don't have installation. I want to add their icons in "Program" folder in order that I can use it from there instead of tab it from file explorer
everytime.

Thanks for your replying, but, where is
"\windows\start menu\programs" folder?
Is it in ROM or storage card?
I tried to find it, but, couldn't find at all
It is in your RAM. The 'upper directory' of your 'My Documents' directory.
For some reason the .lnk files are all gone. The \windows\settings folder is empty. So when I click on Start-Settings my XV6800 hangs since there are no files? Can someone tell me where I can find these or what they point to?
Thanks.
same here!
hard reset your device to get the files back. But remember to backup all your day since it will be deleted.
Just open your File Explorer, find and delete folder "Settings" under \Windows\Start Menu and soft-reset... All links will be recreated.

Using your file explorer on your HD, browse to the location where you installed iGo8, i.e. /program files/iGo8 or storage card/program files/iGo8
Create shortcut of .exe file. Copy this file and put it into /windows/start menu/programs
Now when you go to Start menu your icon should appear
here's where the iGo is
Storage card / iGO8 and inside it all of the maps and content
i copied the iGO8.exe and put it in
MyDevice/ windows/start menu/programs
it shows in start menu but when i clicked it it build two files in the start menu " saved" and " custom" and also it didn't work
did i do something wrong?

Don't copy the iGO8.exe file, create a shortcut to it and copy the shortcut to /windows/start menu/programs

Hiii,
Is it possible to remove icons from the start menu?? And is it possible to copy an exe file (or other sort of file) to your start menu?? Because I have installed a program but it won't open from the Start menu, only when I go through explorer and then open the exe file it works.
Using a file explorer navigate to /Windows/Start Menu/Programs and delete the .lnk shortcuts you want to remove. Similarly copy and 'paste shortcut' anything you want to appear in the start menu. Don't place .exe files here, only .lnk shortcuts.
ok thanks!
Hi,
I had iGO8 installed on my old Nike. I just put the SD Card into the Mini and the program just runs fine. But I have to open it through Explorer, which is annoying. How can I create a shortcut in the Start Menu without reinstalling it?
Thanks
copy IGO8 from sdcart
navigate to folder
windows/menuen start/programmer *my device is in danish*
so i think your is somthing like:
windows/start menu/programs
paste your copy of IGO8 here as a schurtcut
Thanks, I just didn't realize, that copy-paste might mean "paste a shortcut".
