Hello everybody,
I have bought my new HTC HD2 from Vodafone Germany. I live in Germany and ,as all windows devices, my HTC is localized to Germany and the windows mobile 6.5 comes with the German language and I wanted to change it to English. I tried to download the ROM upgrade to "English-Arabic support" from HTC website but when I put the serial number of my device it says that this version is not suitable for your device and I have found another version "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe" and when I tried to install it I got an error says "INVALID Vendor ID" or something like this.
Finally I have bought a 3ed party software just to be enabled to read arabic but the language is still German
So please if anybody knows how to solve this problem and help me I will be thankful.
Best Regards,
Amer
install hspl then instal whichever run you like via usb.
i had the same probs here with vodaphone uk...
as above, install hspl, the sticky of this can be found in the leo roms section of this site and it will guide you, but the installation process is really straight forward.. then you are able to install any of the ROMS, be they official OR custom cooked roms..
My personal favourite is the ENERGY series of roms.. but have a good look about, im sure you will find many that offer the practicality and versatility your after!

Hi Ell_H,
Thank you very much for your reply and I have read about HSPL and it sounds amazing tool but another question about restoring the old system. How can I get the original ROM and restore the system to its old state after changing it?
Thanks in advanced.

You need to find the original rom for your phone, both region AND provider(if you were getting invalid serial on teh htc website then your phone is provider locked, so for example you would need to look for the german t mobile rom, if you got your phone from t mobile germany)
Once you have your original rom you can then use sd card method to remove hspl and restore to factory rom. You can only do this with your original shipped rom.
Problem upgradind German Vodafone ROM
Hi,
I have the same problem upgrading the Vodafone ROM. I would like to load the generic ROM or any other ROM that works with Vodafone. It can be English as well. If I try to load the generic through HTC site it checks the SN and doesn't allow the ROM upgrade.
What to do to load another up to date ROM without running into the same issue as Amer? There are so many ROM version out there and I don't want to risk trying the wrong ROM.
Thanks for help!

You need to obtain the rom from vodafone, or use HSPL / Gold Card to flash another ROM.
Thx for answer. I read about HSPL and will figure that out. I read there are requirements concerning the radio. My radio is 2.04.50.22_2 and ssems pretty old. Does someone know where to find the best guide how to do the HSPL install?
There are many ROMS out there and I want to make sure I will not run into trouble using it with Vada. What ROM to take is the question?
Danke!

Alright lads,
Bit of a noob so bare with me. I flashed HARDSPL and it seemed to go fine. Now in preparation to flash my first rom, I was instructed to flash the newest stock rom first (I am on stock rom 1.43). I went on to the HTC website to get the rom there. However after I had put my serial in, it didn’t allow me to continue. I assumed flashing HARDSPL would allow me to flash stock rom that wasn’t from my provider, namely O2 UK. Am I wrong? If so, where could I download the newest stock rom from?
All replies appreciated,
RRJ
EDIT: Did a bit more searching on the forums and found a serial I could use to download the rom from the HTC website.
your serial won't work on the htc website because your phone rom Is locked to o2 . go to the official roms thread in the rom development section and in the first post, first link, in the 1.43 folder is the o2 uk stock rom.
Hey folks anybody in the UK happen to know what the stock ROM and Radio comes on a Virgin HD2, or would it just be a stock ROM as they dont have software branding on them ?
Thanks
oh and it if i try a stock ROM to try my location out can i just put a custom rom back on again? or will it wipe hspl off?
Virgin are unbranded and unlocked
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
At least that was what was on mine when it came but I updated it with the 1.66 stock ROM the same day as it was released as my phone arrived. Tweaked it loads but not flashed a cooked ROM upto now.
thanks man, that's what is on my friends he just txt me, his works with my location where we live and mine never has kinda annoying now lol
going back to stock only messes with hspl if you use sd card.flash over usb.
ok thanks sam,
1.66 stock ROM .but flashed many orther roms to and no problems here.
I've searched the forum, but couldn't find any similar question...
I want to install stock HD2 3.14 ROM in an T-Mobile UK HD2... Is this possible? Do I need to do anything or should I just flash it? I don't want all the bloatware that the t-mobile ROM has, but I don't want to brick the device also!
Thanks for your help!

in short, goldcard.
thanks! I'll look into goldcard!
just to let you know that the goldcard method made it! Now I have a tmobile bloatware free 3.14 ROM! Thanks once again for leading me in the right direction!
