Hey there,
I was just thinking, don't know if it's at all possible, but would be quite interesting and useful if it could be done...
For phones that have the GPS option, could we add a way for the weather app to take the last gps lock on and use that to get weather information?
That way, no matter where you go, the weather will be correct...

Is there any app/widget that finds your current location, like manila does?
i commute a lot to cities over 50 miles away and i want an application that can update with me as i go.. any one have any ideas? i've been searching for days!
i find with my touch pro2 the 1st screen of the weather manila tab knows where you are in the world if your using 3g or wifi, but u need to press update as u cross the zones.
i use weatherbug mobile works geat just type in the city and it will find it i use spb ms 3.5 and have a widget for it try the app its very cool
For a full featured weather application with tons of features and fully skinable, I recommend PocketWeather.

I have touch pro2 and the weather page automatically updates the location and weather - you can enable it in the weather settings.

Yeah, but that's part of sense, and it looks like redjoker needs something that will work with Titanium or SPB as opposed to sense (some users turn that off to improve device performance or to customize the device in some other way)
Is it just my phone?
I guess with this weather widget we can add locations of where we want to know the weather.
Anyway when I search I would like to add the weather for Monterey Ca. and all I get is Monterey Mexico, WTF is the matter with this thing? Am I missing something?
Not every location on earth is in the pick list. You can try Salinas or some other place close by.
Funny that Salinas is there, but I don't want Salinas even tho they are close to each other, the weather is way different.
This program needs work, even if it cannot find it, I should be able to add that location to favorites or something, but thats not an option.
I will have to get the weather channel program.
Not sure if this what you're asking for but you can choose to display your current location by removing the clock widget and re-adding, it will ask which location to use. Choose current location.
Current location is not the problem, I like to know weather conditions of places that I'm going.
I use to use The weather channel app for this on my old phone, so this one had the weather I wanted to know about having the same features, but it does not.
I think I am going to download the weather channel and just run it when I need to know the weather of where I'm going.

Ok, ya I know what you mean. The locations are definitely limited.
You can download the Weather Channel app. It has a widget you can use instead of the HTC one.
I'm trying to fill a specific need.
Before this i had a Ibex Flytouch 3. It lasted 4 days from new before the battery exploded and melted it to scrap.
BUT - it had a very nice weather widget that shows time and weather from lots of world places. Specifically Newbiggin-by-the-sea, Northumberland, UK.
No other weather app I've seen shows Newbiggin, the closes is Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland. OK, the weather will be the same, but I'd like to see Newbiggin listed and shown.
I've got the apk from the FT files, and it installs and runs as a widget, but I can change the settings (It used to be a tap on the widget would open its settings window, tapping it widget on my A500 does nothing).
Anyone know how to make it allow settings, or of a weather widgety that shows Newbiggin?
try beautiful widget...
I'll try him, thanks.
Palmary weather does the job I need, but it add TOO many widgets - I just want one simple little thing - why do they have to bloat things out so much?
In that case, you can use the basic widget available on the Acer.
But beautiful widget offers choice of different widgets from simple to sophisticated...
well the ACER one is not finalize... cut the text on the bottom...
and concerning beautifull.... hummm no comment.
Ressource eating, too much things.... but normal it's meant to be like this
but I will release asap my widget, minimalistic, nothing more than temperature, and simple graphic... just need too study more about Java

Don't get me wrong, i don't mind sophisticated..
I just don't want all the other widgets still installed after I've got the one I want running.
It's good it gives you a choice - it just needs to delete the ones I don't choose.

Thanks for the link.
I've already tried it - the water live wallpaper works fine and looks great, but the weather app/widget fails (installs, but on run force closes all the time).
Hey guys,
I heavily debloated my system and use xprivacy to block location access to almost everything but the gps apps that I use.
Its not thaaaat important, but I would still like to use the weather info on the lockscreen, but I'd like to know what apps need to be installed and which permissions have to be allowed for it to work?
Can I specify my location manually or does it just work with automatic location? (I deinstalled the NetworkLocation app, because I dont want to be tracked by google, but for gps/location without network, its not necessary anyway).
As a workaround I would also consider using a 3rd party lockscreen clock widget, are there any out there with a similar look like the stock keyguard app?
I love the HTC weather app as it looks so beautiful, but I must say a lot of the time the weather forecasts seem to be incorrect compared to Google now weather forecasts...Has anybody else noticed this, or just me lol?
For example it's raining right now and HTC weather app says it is a clear night whilst Google now app correctly reports that that it should be raining...there is nothing wrong with the location on the HTC spp app as it gets its location via GPS...
Would be cool if the app was updated do the user could change weather providers ?

Most weather apps contradict each other. Google now gets its data from The Weather Channel. HTC gets its data from Accuweather.
Just keep an eye on both and see which you trust. right now its party sunny where I am. Google reflects that and says 16 degrees, so too does HTC. Its a draw where I am!
That sounds like good strategy thanks for tee reply
But the HTC weather app doesn't use the integrated barometer sensor for a more accurate prediction in the area?

I use Beautiful Widgets Weather Widget because it's just..........well.......Beautiful. It can use either Accuweather or Weather Underground. I use Accuweather and it's always spot on.
I agree with @theandies i am also using BW and uses accu which is always spot on for me.
