No matter what resolution I set the camero to, the photo's associated with People in the contacts book are always low quality and look prety naf on the touchflo people interface.
Is there any way of sharpening these up or getting a high quality pic to load in the first place
It is a bug. The only way is to associate the picture in your device not Outlook on PC
Thank you.
I thought that's what I had done. I edited the contact on the device and inserted a picture I took with the phone.
Is there something else I should have done?
try going into camera tab and the album bottom left select the photo you want and select preferences it will give you an option to add to contact this works for me
weird that works. If I assign the photo from the album the picture is crisp, but if I assign it from the address book its blurred.
Thank you.

Many thanx!

Not with the default dialer, or at least that is what I know. You can go to this website and download another dialer http://www.paulya.com/dialerskins.htm.
I;m there are other 3rd party ones as well, but I do not know of any. Hope that helps.
A good skin to use is the eten one. Look for "eten smartdial" on these forums (no quotes). I really like this skin, its got big phone buttons and big picture.
photo contacts pro 5
or
address book
should enlarge the photo shown.

When you choose a photo/picture to use on your today screen the picture is very washed-out. Is there any way the transparency can be altered to make the photo clear? Thank-you

Yes. Go to the picture and video application, then from there, browse to the directory containing your image. Then pick up the image, and from menu, say that you want to use this for your desktop.
The next screen that appear will have the ability for you to adjust how wash out you want the picture to be.
Thanks for your help buddy, worked perfect.

Check out Resco Photo Viewer 6. It is not freeware but well worth a look at the trial. It does all that you want and much more. Additionally, it displays your photos sharper than the buit-in Photo & Video app.
Is it possible to set up the caller ID screens to use a full size 240X320 picture when an incoming call comes in? I haven't figured out a way to do it.

Unfortunately does anybody know why the full screen caller id displays real blurry in S2U2?i have tried using the camera contacts photo option as well as using a digital camera and it still comes out blurry.

What are you using to assign the pictures to the contacts? I'm not sure as i don't use s2u2 but i think the only way to get hi res pictures is using s2v (A_C's photo viewer).
I use S2U2 with S2V to assign contact pictures.
Attached is a pic of the call coming in and when the call wasn't answered, courtesy of S2U2 and S2V.
I've never had a problem receiving calls or any other problems with S2U2.
A fine (free) program.

I use PhotoContactsPro as my contacts application but I use S2U2 as my caller id. I purchased PCP basically just for the caller id option and now only use it for the automatic profile changing. Even with the option in PCP set to full screen caller id, the picture would still only fill about half the screen. I could never get the id to ever be truely full screen.
i have met the same problem. the best way is that you use s2v to assgin pics to contact.

me too - what are your exact settings please?
Hope this thread is still active.
This might give a clue:
On my HTC P3400i (WM6.1) I had the same blurry image problem; but thats resloved if I used PNG image.
On my HTC Touch2 (WM6.5) I have no luck with both PNG of JPG
I am using the latest S2U2 >> S2U2-2.04-QVGA
Does anybody know the optimal Aspect and image size for contact pictures?
something that will look decent and maximize the picture on incomin call pop ups along with the HTC Favorite people tab with the 10 icons for contacts?
Same goes for me. I would like to have high res/ size. When using the slide2unlock with caller id, the photos looked like crap.

The default size is 120x160, if you're trying to use S2I2 maximized i'd probably go with 240x320
my problem is that the faces are getting cutt off when using the HTC home with the contact buttons, its quite annoying
why not this? can we make it so when someone calls, their pic comes up on the whole screeen instead of that stupid incoming call balloon. Its obvious an incoming call is coming in already by that little sound called a ringtone. would be cool to see a big pic of whos calling instead of a chopped up small stamp sized blurr of a pic IMHO
Has anyone figured this out yet?
There is 3rd party software sold for just this. I can't think of the name at this point. It's been a while since I was trying to do the same thing.
The thing is... in the case of WM, to change the size of the avatar, the OS would have to change. They don't make it a variable option. That was back in the WM5 days. I haven't heard that it's any different with WM6.5. We'll see what WM7 has to offer when it's deemed ready!
Hi!
Does anybody know if there is a way to tile your favorite contacts in a grid instead of flipping them one by one? It would be great in touch flo 3d, but other external solutions would be great to.
I do not have the HD yet, but I'm a bit confused. I saw in some snapshots that the People Contact tab actually shows a row of contact pictures in the right side, besides a big one in the middle. The attached snapshot comes from the HD user manual.
I guess you actually have around 9-10 contacts show in the right side and I guess you can pick one of them directly by touching the picture.
You guys that have the HD, could you clarify this?

Yep - there is the main picture which you can flick through and running up the right hand side is a strip of smaller contact pictures which, if you click on, selects that contact for you.
Yes I know about this feature, but it's still a waste of space. It's quite hard to see and hit the right one in the right column. If you could have rows of maby 4 photos and unlimited number of rows to scroll, it would be much faster and easier to overview I think. Maby a bit like the progam menu.

if you don't use the program section you could use VJPhonetools to create shortcuts to the people you want to call and add them to program tab

Sounds interesting enough. Will try it out. Thanks for the tip. It would still be nice with a option to change the layout in the default application IMHO.
