if you plan on tweaking your phone at all, you should probably get one.No there isn't one on your device. I use total commander. It was part of the custom 2.26 rom I upgraded to. I have found it to be very useful. hope this helps
tutorial for Total Commander?
Does anyone know of a tutorial for using Total Commander? There are some things I want to do with it, but I don't know anything about this stuff.
Thanks

I've posted quite a lot tips on using Total Commander in the Registry Bible.
It's indeed a bit harder to use than alternate products. (I think you may also want to check out Resco Registry Editor because it's much easier to use.)
also if it is just registry editing PHM Regedit is pretty good.
Yup, PHM is great, but a bit restricted and, as far as multi-line strings are concerned, buggy.
im looking for app that let me change my slider sound on my tilt? i tried using app called slidesound but it dont work that well
Sliding Sounds
Here's two That I have:

i have found some sounds i like now i just need to kno how to put them in the folder for sliding sounds
heres a cab that i found in a transformers sliding sound forum. just install the cab and reset. then you can just copy whatever wav file into the windows directory that you want for the sliding sounds. you just have to name them custom-in and custom-out. its real easy and you dont have to touch the registry.

ok..and what about the default sounds? i tried the slidesound app.and it played the default sound and the one that i wanted
If someone could still help me find the reg edit folder or method of "changing my own oil". There is a little pride I get from plyaing around in the reg edit especially there is the element of risk when working in it.
Thanks for the help
you'll need a registry editor, like phm, total commander, or resco, before you can do anything at all

Use by example the freeware program PHM, that you can find here.

To edit the registry, you can install on your phone one of the following (I'm sure there are other options, but these are three I know):
Total Commander (free)
Resco Explorer (7-day trial, costs $29.95USD)
PHM Registry Editor (free, but site seems to be offline)
Personally I'm happy with Total Commander, which will also let you delete/change locked files, create shortcuts, etc. The only negative is poor optimization for finger touch, so be careful when you use it. No fat fingers!
In Total Commander, navigate to "\\\" (three slashes) to get to the registry. FYI you may need to restart for certain registry changes to take effect.

I have never messed with the registry before. I do need to now to make some changes in making tomtom 7 work in landscape view and also the home screen.
Tried the search butt felt confused. Looking to be pointed in the right direction here.
Thanks in advanced.
check-out total commander.
Also sktools and resco explorer. (not free)
A free one can be found here:

You can't go wrong with Total Commander, it'll do it all plus it's free!
