Hello people
I have a problem, for wich I couldn't find any sollution in the many pages regarding the Update Serveice for XPERIA
I downloaded the official Update Service software from the SE website, installed it, ran it, and got to here:

I tried restarting, soft reset, replacing the battery, hard reset, different USB ports, reinstalling the software on the desktop PC, and still I got nothing?!?!
This has happened on two different computers - one on XP and on on Vista, so I guess OS is not a factor here.
Has anyone came accross such an issue?
Oh, I live in Bulgaria, and I bought the X1 from an official retailer here in BG, so it's not imported, cracked, unlocked, etc. The original ROM is still in place, I've just added tons of software, thats it...
Saying a prayer now.. hope it works.....
On you PC, try to uncheck "allow USB connection" in the activsync software

Tried that as well, then no connection with the phone can be established at all - no message, no error, nothing
I tried every suggestion that I could find:
Trying it on XP and not Vista and vice versa:
- done, nothing different, still the same problem.
Flashing the original stock ROM:
- not neccessary, I never changed this initial original ROM.
Unchecking the "Allow USB connections" box:
- tried it - then the SEUS doesn't respond at all, just waits for me co "connect" the device, even tho its already connected.
Getting to the point with the coloured lines and then connectiong the phone to the PC:
- nothing?!?! I just get a "No Image File" msg and the the coloured lines with "Serial" written on the white stripe at the bottom. And then again - nothing.
Hard resetting, replacing batery, soft reseting, reinstalling SEUS:
- still nothing?!?!
Is there another thing that can fix this?!?! I tried everything!?
Try this: on your phone go to settings -> connections -> USBtoPC and uncheck "enable fast data synchronization"

Hey . Zdrasti .
Check this thread here:

There are some nice solutions for Vista users, but nothing for Xp so far . I haven't found an answer, but there is always the easy way out. Just flash the new R3A ROM from here:

Hi Guys,
My T-Mobile Vario is not connecting ActiveSync anymore.
Windows finds the device, the device gets a IP address. ActiveSync sees there is a device and tries to connect. But it can't get connected.
I allways worked with ActiveSync 4.2 NL. When the problem started I installed ActiveSync 4.5 BETA 2, but it didn't solve the problem.
I tried connecting my device to my laptop with ActiveSync 4.2, but with no success.
It looks like the activesync on the device is not responting to the computer.

Have you tried the USBSwitch utility to use the RNDIS driver to connect to ActiveSync??

Now I tried, ActiveSync does not do anything when the mode is set to Serial. When I turn the mode back to RNDIS the problem remains.
this happened to me after i installed some software, i had to hard re set and install everything again one item at a time to find out which one was causing the problem, i found out it was some free weather software. hope this helps
So, it's technicly a software problem. I was not planned to do a hard-reset becouse I loose all my settings and messages etc.
Any of you guys have a solution where I don't have to hard reset my device?
Thx.
There is no way around it, i had all the things like you did and the same screens when i click troubleshoot and it all said it should be working but it wernt, so i had to hard reset but i was lucky as i have saved it all to my pc, get a memery card and save all your programes to that then hard re set.
The data is not the problem. I got a mem card. But all my new appointments are on my PDA and are not synchronized with my PC yet. Is there a way to copy the agenda file or something and replace it back to my PDA afther the hard reset?
Edit: I'm now trying to use Sprite Back-up to back-up all my data. Let's see if it's working.
Woohooo, it worked. I restored all my messages and appiontments after the hard-reset with Sprite. ActiveSync works again.
Thx.
glad it all worked

Solution:
Changed serial to RNDIS! using USBSwitch, ActiveSync came back to life!
...
Cause:
Flashed T-Mobile wing with Windows Mobile 6.5... and ActiveSync stoped working.
Hi,
To start off I`m using Garmin`s Kumara Touch - WM6 Premium. Just later I had the same problem I had before, active doesn't work. cables are properly plugged in, soft reset doesn't change a thing, when i go to My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Other Devices here appears Windows CE USB Devices with an exclamation point on it. As I was saying, I had the issue before and the resolution was a hard reset. My question is, has anyone encountered the same problem i had? because I don`t like the hard reset part. I have to reinstall everything I have in my PPC, I also tried a full back up via SPB Backup then did a hard reset then did a full restore, still the Unrecognized / Un-installed Windows CE USB Devices appears on Device Manager.
Can anyone help me with this. It would really be appreciated..
WMstorage works well btw, i can charge etc via WMstorage.
Here's the screenshot I get in Device Manager

Kindly tell me what am i doing wrong i already Unchecked the USB connection in ActiveSync ....Whatelse am i suppose to do...please guys i really love this phone and cant wait to use it again.
Thanks.
ZODI.
hi ZODI,
you better kill the ActiveSync all together by using windows tak manager. I mean to kill the process called wcescom.exe on your PC.
Then reconnect your UNIVERSAL.
Wait a bit, then have a look in PC's Device Manager, if your UNIVERSAL was recognised and it should be listed within USB devices as HTC USB Sync or similar.
If so, then do a reflash one more time.
good luck
buzz
Hi ZODI,
you'd better kill ActiveSync all the way down, by using windows task manager.
- disconnect your UNIVERSAL
- kill wcescomm.exe process on your PC
- connect your UNI again and wait a bit
- check if display shows USB at the top of the screen
- in PC's Device Manager check, if the device driver (HTC USB Sync) was loaded
If all done, proceed and do a ROM REFLASH.
If not, you may also check at http://buzzdev.net/list.php?40 mainly those two sticky posts at the top.
good luck

Ok giving it a try ....hope it works this time and thanks.

As soon as I connect my HD2 TMOUS (Touch X-TREME), my computer crashes.
I've hard reset the phone, erased all data on sd, removed sd, removed WMDC, reinstalled WMDC, but it keeps crashing.
What do I do?

it shouldn't have to do anything with the phone, so I guess erasing the sd or hard resets are not necessary... which version of windows do you use? is it 32 bit or 64 bit? did you install the correct version of wmdc? and did you restart your computer prior to reinstalling wmdc?
If it's a BSoD it's very likely a hardware or driver problem...probably not something related to WMDC per se.
Can you post the details of the BSoD (AKA "Stop error screen")?
You should be able to find said details in the Event Log...
So I think there is something wrong with WMDC and my comp now.
Nothing else causes the crash but WMDC related programs. connecting the phone, starting WMDC on my laptop and/or reinstalling now.
Windows 7 64bit.
Ive had HD2 for 2 weeks, flashed few ROMS, and I've never had that problem until tonight. I wonder what had changed since this morning and now.
Sorry, I don't know how to work event viewer.
I might just do a clean windows install and see what is up.
Oddest thing...

I saw your post.
I said, I don't know how to work event viewer.
And yes, I've installed the correct version os WMDC seeing as it was the same file I used to install WMDC in the first place and that worked fantastically until now.
I don't know much about computers. that's why I'm here asking for a help because this kept happening only when I was doing stuff with WMDC.
The reason why I said I might do a clean install is because that might somehow fix my issues, so I wanted to do everything I can do first so that I wouldn't waste your time looking into my issue.

There's not really much to "work".
You hit Start, and search for it by typing "Event Viewer" into search -- it should be the top result, so you should just be able to hit ENTER.
Then you go to "Windows Logs" and below that "System" and look for the entry that corresponds to your STOP error screen.
If you sort by "Level" (by clicking the column header) you should be able to sort the most important entries to the top, thereby making your search a bit easier (pretty much everything gets logged in the event log...).
Once you find the error that corresponds to your STOP error screen (match up the time indexes), click on it, and that'll give you information in the bottom half of the screen.
Copy and paste that information here.
Here's a picture:

Unfortunately (?) my event log doesn't have a STOP error screen log entry in it...because my computers never BSoDs (properly-configured computers rarely do)...

Same problem here!
My G2 is recently updated to 4.4.2.
I have tried on several computers, different ports and no help.
On the first connection to a PC not connected before windows reports "USB device not recognized" problem.
After that every time I connect the phone to the same computer the phone itself only recognizes that it is using USB charging mode, it does not recognize the computer connection (known by the USB icon on android system tray) even with "Ask upon connection option checked".
Even when I manualy change the Android mode in Settings --> PC Connection from MTP to PTP or even LG software, nothing happens.
Definitely there seems to be a problem with the phone, but I don't believe it's a software but a firmware problem.
Please help if anyone knows what to do.
