Hi,
I developed an application on Windows Mobile 2003 (i-mate) that establishes TAPI data call between two PDA devices on CSD line (v110). Now I have hTC TyTN II with Windows Mobile 6.1 installed on it (downloaded from hTC's official website). I sucessfully compiled my code for hTC TyTN II (WM 6.1). But TAPI data call is not establishing. Even on receiving-end no event of TAPI was received. Here is my OS/ROM configuration of TyTN II:
OS : Windows Mobile 6.1
ROM Version : 3.28.405.0 WWE
ROM Date : 05/02/08
Radio Version : 1.65.17.56
Protocol Version : 25.83.40.02H
Are ROM vs Radio versions compatible? Or there could be some other problem?
Looking forward for response!

Maybe it is stupid question, but I'm really confused about Pocket PC 2003 vs. WM2003. I'm newbe for XDA
I read a lot ROM upgrade topics, refer to WM2003, but sometime refers Pocket PC 2003. sometime refer to wireless modem 2003 !
I guess WM2003 means “Windows Mobile 2003” or "Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC"
I search Microsoft website; it seems Microsoft uses “Windows Mobile 2003” instead of Pocket PC 2003.
Please correct me, if I’m wrong!
What version # is Pocket PC 2003, >4.00 ?
the correct name for the new OS for PPC is known as Windows Mobile 2003 or WM 2003 for short..some people call it Pocket PC 2003 but the actual name for it is WM 2003, there are a few ROMS for WM 2003 in this site namely 4.00.05, 4.00.10, 4.00.11 and 4.00.16 for both 4.00.10 and 4.00.16 are T-mobile ROMS... they can be downloaded from Jeff's Kitchen which is at http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen
do help yourself with these ROMS...I would recommend 4.00.11 with radio version 4.21
cheers!!
I upgraded my XDA I with the original Tmobile upgrade PPC2003 GER. All works fine. Then i started the Autokonfiguration for Tmobile Germany. One Programm i got was a tool for mms-sending and receiving. When i want to start this Programm an error message occures like "This software is only working on original T-mobile device". What can i do ? Where is the difference between my XDA I and the MDA I ?
My Device-Information shows:
ROM-Version 4.01.19 GER
ROM Datum 03/05/04
Radio Version 3.23.11
Protokoll Version 32S54
Identity : PWA10A2, Pocket PC
thanks for your help !
the difference is only the software
try doing a search for mms composer in the forum it should not have any special relation to any operator of cause you may have to put in the mms settings manualy
thanks for your answer,
using mms-composer is one possibilty. But i thought, when flashing my XDA I with the original ROM of the MDA (T-Mobile, PPC 2003, German), there would be no difference to the original MDA I, and then using the MMS-client-Software (Materna, ANY WAY) from T-Mobile Germany shouldn't make any Problems. When starting the MMS-Software the message "... Software only for T-Mobile Devices" occurs. This means, there must be another difference to the MDA. Any idea ???
Hi,
i have found the solution for my own. Here for all who are interrested:
- the difference between a MDA1 and XDA1 (with MDA-ROM) is the imei-number
- the MMS-Client-software from T-Mobile (Materna, ANY WAY) needs an imei of a T-mobile MDA
- it must begin with 350512... or 350513... following with a serialnumber of T-mobile
that's all
I am stuck with an application that needs to use COM2 to dial and establish communication with a host server. So it appears I need to redirect COM2 to the internal GSM modem. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Sasha,
Your T-mobile MDA II is the same as an HTC Himalaya (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya), not an HTC Magician. Ur in the right forum, though arguably you'd have been better to post your question in the WM5 Himalaya forum anyway....
There are a fair few WM5 ROMs for the Himalaya available, the latest of which is:-

Anyone using iPass on their Wizard or other WM5 device?
I've found download links for version 2.0, which is for Windows Mobile 2003, but don't know if it runs of WM5 and I can't get an anwwer from my iPass provider.
