I have Sticky Note widget app. I wanted to create a shortcut to it as opposed to press and hold the screen, choose widgets, scroll down to the app.
thanks

What? You don't run widgets, you add them to your home screen by pressing and hold the screen, choose widgets, scroll down to the app.
I am sure he knows how to access a widget. What he wants is to be able to open a note with a single press. I agree, the way you have to do it now is too bulky for use with note type widgets.
I swear the way you access a widget is a effectively a shortcut...
i was pretty sure a widget was basicly a shortcut....kinda confused by ur post...
If you try the sticky note app, it creates sticky notes on the desktop. To create a new one, you have to go through the widget list. Essentially want I want is an application shortcut that runs the widget
I don't think there is any way to do that (as far as I know).
Maybe someone else does...

Well the other morning i turned my phone on and noticed something really strange. At the bottom of my screen where the MAIN ICONS are, PHONE, MESSENGER, CONTACTS, and APPS, I am now missing the ICON for CONTACTS.
To repeat, instead of 4 icons, i now have 3?? And my contact icon is MIA. Inorder for me to access them i had to go to my APPS and bring it to my homescreen. Has this happened to anyone else???
Folow these instructions. Hit the apps drawer icon. Once inside, hit Menu>Edit then drag the contacts or whatever icons you want in to the dock. Then save and problem solved.

Don't drag it towards the trash can but instead to the end of that drawer to the left of the 1st icon.
Do you BONSAI?
Ok. Hit the Home soft button to go to your homescreen. Hit the blue icon on the bottom of the screen that looks like a window, this is your Applications drawer. Hit the Menu soft key, then click the Edit option on the screen. Drag the contacts icon, or whatever you choose, and drag it into the dock. You can configure the three icons to whatever you want them to be. Easier?

thanks guys, i was able to add another icon into the tray, i chose to add facebook instead of contacts, since u can add contacts from other screens.
Also, you can enter contacts from the phone icon as well. The contact icon is redundant in my opinion.

I am wondering if there is a way to put a shortcut to a website on my homescreen rather than having to put the bookmark widgets.
Also, is it possible to have each home screen contain a different wallpaper, even if it would require a launcher from the market?
Thanks
Yes, when you go to set the bookmark use the drop down list and select home screen. This will just set a single icon on your home screen.
No can't set a different wallpaper for each home screen.
Multipicture live wallpaper app in market allows you to have different walls on each screen. Don't let the livewallpaper part fool you. It works for still photo's too. It works on my gtab!

Alternatively, long press the home screen > more > bookmark
How do you add a settings shortcut for battery and wifi manager on the home screen? I've been scouring through the widgets and nothing seems to appear, normally with all other phones a "settings" widget is available and you get to choose which settings you want a link to.
Thanks

i was using the galaxy note ii for a while and loved settings widget/shortcut. i moved on to the galaxy note 3 on a different carrier. i also have sm-n9005. both note 3s do not have the settings widget. it is frustrating. what i recommend is installing action launcher by chris lacy. it will add 2 widgets to the widget launcher/menu. choose the activities widget. the list of apps and settings that populates is more extensive than the note ii's version. there you can add bluetooth, data usage, wifi, and tethering one by one. after creating all the shortcuts i needed, uninstalled action launcher. remember to keep touchwiz as your default launcher in the beginning of the process.
(on a side note, action launcher is great. i even purchased the pro key. however, i just don't like the way apps look in folders. in addition, 1x1 widgets do not align properly with regular app icons sometimes. as for 4 row widgets, it automatically adds margins/padding so they look more align with other same sized widgets. some 4 row widgets on touchwiz go edge to edge which is annoying. in regards to the s pen features, air command did not pop up on action. honorable mention, shutters is a great action feature. last mention, i don't use action on the note 3.)
So I'm trying to open a widget from a widget, here's what I'm working with. For the Harmony icons, I want to be able to tap them and have them open up another window that shows all the activities that are on that hub, with a different icon for the current activity. I can't seem to find a way to open another widget from tapping on one of them, is it possible? I've also played with trying to set up a Tasker Scene, but it doesn't seem like I can change icons in there. Thoughts?

You might want to look into Elixir2 Widget and Overlays.

Hi there,
does anybody know if it is possible to set a shortcut for a website on the EPD screen?
There is a widget where i can select apps from a list.
But i just want to set a shortcut for a website like Dropbox or Newspapers so that i can select it directly on the EPD.
thx
The answer isn't straightforward, essentially what you're looking for is a pointer to website, but in the apps drawer so you can pick it up from the EPD's app launcher menu. Android doesn't do that natively, and a typical shortcut application would only allow shortcut on home screen.
A rather intriguing method would be to create shortcuts with Tasker and then install them as app. Definitely worth a shot. Someone might have a better answer though.
It is not that easy as i thought.
There is an App called Yotabelt, which should allow this, but no chance. It does not open anything.
So, i guess, i'll have to find a way to get a shortcut into the apps list.
