HELP: messed up update?

Ok so ive followed what it said on SEUS and its just stuck on the coloured stripes...is this normal? please help...what do i do?

After you follow the prompts and it says either flash or no update available,it will not reboot by itself...you have to take out the battery to reset it.

so despite someone telling me there was an update on seus...there still isnt?

[Q] Bricked/dead xperia play

Here's my story:-
So I unlocked the bootloader and while rooting I bricked my play, so i got it back by installing flash tool and modding with UK generic.ftf file.
Now after using this firmware everything was fine until I clicked on software update(about phone-->softwareupdate) on mobile itself thru 3g.
So it downloaded a 51mb file and it was updating wen it swithed on, i thought thats normal but it didnt come back on for 30-40 mins and then i switched it on but nothing happened, so i took off the battery and restarted and nothing happened.
Now here's that I did and I know:-
Flashed almost 3-4 times with uk.ftf nothing....
opened the uk.ftf flashed only the loader.sin.....nothing...
flashed with the new firmware(I guess the US version with 2.3.3)....nothing...
.....My fone's start button is acting strange, wen i press that button for switching it on a green lite blinks and the fone vibrates and then again a green lite blinks but the fone wudnt start, you can keep pressing the start button on top but it wud do the same keep vibrating after every 3-4sec....nothing happens.
So I guess as I was using the UK.ftf and updated my fone here(I stay in India so obviously my fone would have had asain firmware and I was now using the uk firmware) so that mite have locked/dead/bricked my play....or is there any way out.....?
I took the fone to Sony service centre, they caught it with EMMA that this fone has a modified software and got puzzled, so i was trying to fool them until one of them called the head office and confirmed...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You cant update the play via software update if you have unlocked the bootloader! It bricks the phone and as of now there is no fix, well, not that I know of!

There was a million warnings all over the place about this happening.

So I know of the warnings, but just forgot that I updated my play with a diff firmware, anyways this wouldnt help.
But thanks to you both for the prompt response, how abou if im sending the play to sony service centre they would charge me money for it coz its outta warranty, but they would just upload it with the asain firmware, correct?
If that happens, il try to make an dump outta it so that others cud benefit...
or maybe an asia bootloader if I cud find 1, I guess by doing so I can still get the fone to switch thru loader and then flash another ftf, sounds crazy tho..dont know yet?

There is a fix to the point of restoring it without the phone part, which sounds like it is going to get fixed soon. keep your fingers crossed. for the fix look at the other bricked threads.

just bought myself samsung s2 galaxy...way fast..
Tho i had a dream for play, i finished it, sad tho for bricking it...

Someone really needs to put a big fat warning at the top and bottom of those rooting/bootloader guides that doing an update after unlocking the bootloader will brick the phone.

Dude idiotic wud be wen u dint know anything, anyways i was trying to fool that Sony cetre guy until he called the H.O...but never mind I will be going tomm to give the device to them, tho when enquired, he just gave a statment with a hint, they will lock the bootloader>repair it(s/f etc loading)>unlock it again...
So justifying!! yes, there is way to lock it again, we just dont know it how for now.
Il try bribing him wont work but need my fone back asap.
Also, I dont now where I read or heard that if u cud change ur fone's IMEI number , one part of bootloader gets locked tho bcoz EMMA wont recognize that ....i dont know if thats possible lolz, but for the sake its illegal changing ur IMEI...I cud do that ( ireturned 2 dead on arrival plays before i got this 3rd one, mayb 3 was a bad number)

I would stick to my story and say it died when you tried an update.

[Q] Question about Gingerbreak

Hi
Recently acquired a second hand Experia Play
I was thinking of rooting with gingerbreak
The about phone tells me the following info.
Model No R800i
Android 2.3.3
Build no 3.0.1.A.0.145
The phone is on Vodaphone UK
It's unlocked came that way I guess
I've used TrackID
Which seemed to work OK so I presume the Bootloader is locked
Though i'm not sure ?
My question is if I was able to root would I just use gingerbreak
Or do I have to flash the phone first ? Also if I did get it rooted would I lose the 2.3.3
Apologies if this has been answered I looked around but kind of hard to find a definite answer

If track id works your bootloader is locked.
Gingerbreak wont work on 2.3.3 you will have to flash 2.3.2 > root > ota update and you will be on 2.3.3 rooted. Follow the guide here

Yes would need to flash the UK generic 2.3.2 then root with gingerbreak and then without doing anything else update to 2.3.3 OTA and only OTA will keep you rooted

Took the plunge this afternoon
All went well restored Firmware to 2.3.2
Have installed Gingerbreak to SD launches without a problem
The only thing is it's taking forever to Root just spins the circle .
Tells me it may take a few minutes left it for half an hour still going round
Should I try One click ?
Or just wait for gingerbreak to finish ?

Quick Update..
Formated the SD Card for the second time
ran Gingerbreak within a minute Phone Rebooted. and i now have Superuser on the Phone, next step OTA Update if that goes ok im sorted

hey all i got my samsung galaxy 3 one month back and around 2 days back i just switched on my cell and it just stopped at samsung screen and didnt load so i showed it to the samsung customer care ,they fixed it .now its happening again!!
i dont know what to do!!
i have no idea about flashing or rooting or bricking or whatever
plz help me out!
got this cell from my pocket money!!

Check your battery, but it shouldn't be issue if phone actually starts. I recommended you to read about flashing and install new soft. Maybe you just overused it.

Relax bro, its all right as of now. Try the following then we will see what to do
1. Try to do a factory reset.
2. Try to remove SD Card and then use phone for few hours without it.
3. If Any of the above solves your issue, then post here, else I would strongly suggest you to Flash a Stock ROM. You can contact me if you don,t know how.
Since you are from bangalore, so I am assuming you have a I5801 with Android 2.1 installed by default. Also post if you updated the firmware using KIES?
For the time being, cheer up as our Galaxy 3 is not frail

dont do any flashing or rooting if u have warranty on the phone and u have not done any of the above just take it back to service and tell them the problem and they will fix it for ur thats all ur phone is just 3 months old they have do it

Yes i will second haree....in warranty period, if you havent made changes to your ROM, you should get it back to service centre and ask them do a proper repair, you can also tell them its a persistent problem. My apologies for not mentioning this as the 1st step above. Thank you haree

For the meantime, the only way to root the Nokia 5 is by downgrading to Nougat, unlock the bootloader (temporarily), and install TWRP... However if you want to update to another version you're gonna face a long process of updating it yourself manually if you want to keep root

unlock the bootloader on ur nokia but don't install twrp . Update to pie to ur hearts disire then you can flash Nokia 6 twrp easily but u gotta do the flash and it's a real pain to boot, but it's :fastboot reboot' and have the vol+ and power pressed and press enter. You also gotta flash magisk 19.1 , to avoid errors
