Does anyone know how to reinstall a nandroid backup without fastboot ?
I had the engineered boatloader and Jf1.42 all goodies. Now when I boot into recovery I have the stock one. I cannot fastboot the recovery. I there a way to get my phone back to its previous state. This started when I installed the radio, spl then firmware for hakuro 6.0. A no go, then I used recovery to update the dream.. to rc29. Now no root, no fastboot access. Is there another way to install the backups ?
you need to re-root the phone...put on a new recovery image...& flash the engineering SPL again.
then you can fastboot flash boot.img, system.img, & data.img
edit: you'll have to flash the radio as well
I am having the same problem, so I need to reflash the rom the do what?

Can a nandroid backup be restored without fastboot ?
If please PM or post instructions. After trying to install (per instructions) the Haykuro 6.0.
I am stuck with the new cupcake ota. That's all that would flash. I updated the dream.. Then I got root, but still I cannot flash anything(only the ota 1.5).
I tried the testkeys recovery and no go. I just want the bootloader fixed so I can restore a backup.
Can I downgrade to rc29 , root and then adb push the recovery, system, data images ?
Never mind the problem was you HAVE to have a NEWLY SD. All good now !
I've installed the revolutionary for the S-off, rooted and have a Nandroid backup thanks to the excellent guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Since somebody said the RUU rom is somehow different from the stock rom, so if I flashed a custom rom, the only way for me to get into the stock rom is flashing the backup in Nandroid.
After that, I can flash the fastboot into S-on Hboot 1.01.0001 thanks to this guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160251.
But it is still not the stock Hboot 1.01.0002(only flashing RUU can do so). Does any method allows me to flash the Hboot into 1.01.0002 version and also unroot the rooted-Nandroid-backup, so my phone can be completely restored? Thank you so much!
An RUU is necessary to remove the Clockworkmod Recovery (Custom Recovery which allows you to flash stuff). That is the only reason why an RUU is needed to back to a completely stock state.
You can replace the HBoot file in that 2nd guide using any HBoot. So, you can extract 1.01.0002 from a RUU/OTA you know carries it, and replace the file accordingly.
Replacing the Stock Recovery should be possible without an RUU - BUT, it will need someone to extract and verify it. Till that process is done, I guess its the only way to completely get back to Stock.
Or are there any method to upgrade the Hboot 1.01.0001 into 1.01.0002 by extract the boot.img from the RUU?

Oh...I forget the most important part (remove CWM), thank so much!!
Here's what I propose:
- Restore your Nandroid Backup of your Stock ROM. This will give you the Stock ROM.
- Extract the Recovery.img from an RUU. Flash this using flash_image or Fastboot. This will remove the Clockworkmod Recovery and get back the Stock Recovery
- Extract the HBoot 1.01.0002 .nb0 file from an RUU/OTA, and flash using the guide above. This will remove the AlphaRev HBoot and replace it with stock.
These 3 steps should help you get back to a completely stock system. WITHOUT touching an RUU.

Thx!
But the Nandroid backup require root permission, will the rooting permission be still exist after getting back to the stock ROM? how can I Unroot it?
Yes which is why in the 3 steps I posted, Nandroid Backup comes first. So once you restore that, then you have the stock ROM, But, you have Clockworkmod and Revolutionary HBoot.
To remove Clockworkmod, and get back the Stock Recovery, Extract the Stock Recovery.img from an RUU and follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974590
Now, you have your Stock ROM and a Stock Recovery, You just have to remove the Custom Revolutionary HBoot. Again, extract the HBoot 1.01.0002 .nb0 file from an RUU, and follow the same guide you already linked, to get back to S-ON.
Thus, you can revert back to Stock completely without running an RUU and losing your data,

Nandroid backup and nandroid restore will not require root permissions.
And your question depends on whether (or not) you have rooted and then made nandroid backup.
And if you have to unroot it, do it before flashing hboot. Because once s-on is made, it is bit difficult (nearly impossible on hboot 1.0x with stock recovery) to unroot. Use super one click or gingerbreak.apk to unroot .
[In short, unroot = removing su binary from /system/bin (or) /system/xbin ]

running TWRP and rooted 4.2.1 N7 3G and not wanting to lose any user settings.
Is it ok to just unzip the factory image and flash the radio/boot/system image via fastboot ? I know i would lose root and any mod to the system but that is relatively simple to re-apply
alternatively, i would need to flash the recovery image and manually undo changes to system in order for OTA to go through.
anyone see problem with this ?
Yep, that's fine. I fastbooted the bootloader/radio/system, all was well. Definitely fastboot for the radio, can do the others in recovery if you wish.
Quick question.
I flashed the radio in my 6p.
Can I install the latest OTA Android update over that or do I need to go back to stock?
Also my phone is unlocked, does it need to be locked?
The radio flash didn't solve my problems.
Anyone?
Which radio did you flash?

There's a lot about your config you haven't told us. Since you're staying your phone is "unlocked", I can only assume you mean the bootloader is unlocked, and you've got a custom recovery (TWRP) installed. If this is indeed the case, then no you should not take any "OTA" as any changes to "stock" (like a custom recovery) will cause it to fail.
You can, however, wipe and flash new Roms through twrp, or with an unlocked bootloader you can download the latest image from Google's sure for our device and flash that through fastboot (Google search to find tutorials on this there's a million of them). Be aware this will wipe EVERYTHING out on the device and reset it back to defaults (your data, recovery, etc.)

All I did was unlock the bootloader and
fastboot flash radio image.
That is it.
I did not install a custom recovery.

If you didn't flash a custom recovery you can download the ota without any issues. This is assuming that everything is still completely stock about your device. You can upgrade and downgrade your radio as you wish. I would advise to keep your bootloader unlocked so you can fix any problems if you ever have any.
Hi
i was stupid enough to unlock my bootloader and flash recovery, then reflash back latest meizu stock via twrp , and flashing again the twrp recovery image,
i don't why, but the first init of the rom update ****ed my recovery up and now i lost recovery (even the stock, the phone just booting to the rom)
fastboot oem unlock isn't possible because i'm on locked bootloader rom.
i tried to flash the recovery via rashr with the backup i made and i can't becuase of busybox, i guess it's because the bootloader lock
is there any script or way that i can stock recovery back?
actually if lost the rom i lost my phone....
please help!
Sorry my friend, you have a sad full hard brick without recovery. You need a new motherboard, sorry.
One thing, do you try to flash the cracked update through flash tools ?
