Haykuro's SPL on French Dream - G1 General

Hi,
I'm wondering wheather any french dream owner already tested th new Haykuro SPL on it.
French Dreams are based on a PVT board but the revision is not the same as US devices. (DREAM20000)
For instance, the regular HARDSPL doesn't work on DREA200 revision (I bricked my previous device weeks ago with it).
Thanks for your inputs

haykuro's SPL vs HardSPL? Should I update?

Short question:
Do I need to update my SPL and the Radio? SPL and the Radio versions mentioned on haykuro's google code website seem to be different than what I have on my phone. Here's the fastboot mode information from my phone (with three skateboarding Androids at the bottom)
DREA100 PVT 32B
HSPL10.95.3000
CPLD-4
RADIO-1.22.14.11
Oct 20, 2008
Serial0
Longer Description:
I had the stock G1, followed this awesome tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480 to root my phone and installed JF1.42 on my phone. Last night, I decided to try haykuro's 5.0.1Gr2 and ended up with "Build Number: unknown" in the About Phone section and unable to download any apps from the android market (I guess due to the missing keys and proper identification).
And I found that haykuro had a newer version of radio listed on his website and also his own SPL. So, I am wondering... should I upgrade to haykuro's versions? TIA

Here's a good reference for everything related to the haykuro builds:

Here's the short version, though:
I haven't really looked at the new haykuro SPL, but from the version info you posted, you currently have HardSPL. This is fine - the new SPL isn't required.
As for the radio - it's recommended that you use the radio image meant specifically for the build you are using, in general.
Also, it looks like you've got the RC33 version of the radio, and I personally had no problems using the RC33 radio with the haykuro 5.0.2H build, but others have experienced weird signal problems, so if you start having signal issues, I'd update, otherwise it's just up to you.
Hello,
I am running 5.0.1G (not R2) and only updated the radio from his site.
Mine was running fine on the RC33/RC9 radio, but heard battery life was better with thenewer radio....which it is!
I have not changed the SPL, still running the original Hard SPL and it works fine.
Thanks for the quick responses guys. I will update the Radio then and leave the SPL alone, for now .
I have a question about SPL, maybe a noob's one, so please forgive me.
According to what I have read so far, u must have the latest Radio in order to avoid bricking your phone when updating to the Haykuro's SPL. My baseband version is 62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I, not exactly the same as the one posted on Haykuro's page, which is 62.50S.20.17H_2.22.19.26I. Is that a big deal ? I really want to move to Haykuro's SPL or at least another one beside stock's SPL.
Thanks in advance
The haykuro spl or more commonly known around here as the danger spl is only needed if you plan on using or trying a hero rom, for any other rom like jf or cyanogen you can use your stock spl or hard spl. If you do plan on using a hero rom just go to android devolpment section, click on a hero rom and it will have a link to the lastest radio and spl that is needed. Just make sure that you flash the radio first before the spl or u will have a brick

How is the customized SPL developed?

I saw somebody posted the modified SPL for HTC dream. I am wondering how the customized SPL is developed? Does the hacker reverse the SPL code by disassembling the SPL image?
There is no 'customized' SPL really.. The Engineering SPL is an official one from HTC and the special/death SPL is just the one from the sapphire which Haykuro hex-edited the partition boundaries on.. I think. I wouldn't recommend hex-editing your SPL unless you're building a house.
Thanks, much appreciated.
There is no hex editing whatsoever.
It is just the SPL ripped out of an INCOMPATIBLE PHONE.
Since it's just ripped from the Sapphire I don't get why everyone calls it "Haykuro's SPL", even some of the ROM devs do :-S
Only because he's the kid who started this mess...

Quick question

if you have a HTC spl what rom do you need to install on your phone or is that dependant on the 32a or b board ?
someone ?? anyone ??
your question makes no sense...every SPL is from HTC...
and you said something about 32A and 32B...
YES, the rom is dependant of your Board and your SPL...
the following combinations are possible
32 B -> 32B tag
32 A with 3.22 Radio -> 32A old Radio tag
32 A with 6.35 Radio (aka hero radio) -> 32 new radio tag
so for example if you got a 32A board with 3.22 radio, look for a rom which will work for 32A old radio....
you can get HTC SPLs and Google SPLs
i have a 32b board magic but the radio is 3.22 so what rom do install or do i have to do soemthing to the radio
Yep you can get HTC and Google SPL's but that doesn't really matter... The numbers are more important
based on what you asked, you have very little knowledge in this area. Doing some research, even the slightest will help.
I remmeber someone in a similar situation where they had 32B with 32A spl/radio (Don't trust me on this and go flash crazy with the radio/spl)
Just try out roms instead. You can't brick your phone flashing roms unless they change your radio/spl
Do not post questions in the development threads.

[Q] Is 3.22.26.17 the latest radio for Magic 32a?

I didn't find so many informations about this version of the radio, and I'm a bit confused: is this radio compatible with Magic 32A (and 32B??) or Dream? Because in some posts I see it used on Dream, but looks like a numbered version for Magic.
Can someone please help me before I brick my device?
Thanks!
im Running 3.22.26.17
Im running 3.22.26.17 as my radio with rogers, there are some draw backs
i get dropped to EDGE often.
If your phone is a Rogers 32a you can try the 6.35 radios they work great. (be sure to update to the proper SPL aswell)
how is 3.22.23.18 working for you?

Magic Fodavone questons

Hi people!
I bought couple of days ago HTC magic which is bought from Vodafone. I never have had a android phone and the whole android world is still new to me.
The first owner said there is some custom bootloader installed and this is 32B phone?
Baseband version
62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
Mod version is:
CM6-FroyoRedux 2.0
I dont like this rom bicouse i think its not best rom for me. I have had a lot of windows mobile phones and this forum and custom roms for windows are familiar but this android world seems to be little bit diffrent. Is there things what i should know before i do anything? I want new rom which is stable, fast and simple. I dont need many programmes installed allready etc. in my rom now this cant connect to android market and it is kind of stypid so i need new rom but first i need to know how it is possible so tell me some things about this
Is it only possible to me to install 32B roms which i didint see very much in that rom section :/
EDIT: Tell me which roms are possible to me to install?
Somebody can tell me something?
Before you install a custom ROM in your HTC Magic you need to do a few small steps. I did them based in the tutorial from cyanogenmod
How do I root & install CyanogenMod?
HTC Magic see How to determine if you have 32A or 32B
HTC Magic 32A Users: HTC Magic (32A): Rooting
HTC Magic 32B Users: HTC Magic (32B): Rooting
myTouch3G 1.2 / Fender LE (3.5mm jack) Users: TMobile myTouch Fender/1.2: Rooting
It seams your friend told you it was a 32B version but since you're not sure follow the steps in that tutorial. There you can find what you need in order to proceed. Since you said you already have a custom ROM you won't need to root again (since it should be already rooted). Therefore is just needed for you to determine the version, radio and then you can download and apply the ROM you want. If you need to root just follow the instructions in the wiki link i gave at start.
There are ROMs that are for both versions but it is because someone ported them to the other version. What i want to say is that a HTC Magic 32A can only get 32A ROMs and a 32B only get 32B ROMs. You can check at the topic of the ROM you want the version that the ROM is for. 32A version ROMs sometimes are radio-specific.
you can see at the topics:
[ROM][32A] ... -> is for 32A (most likely old radio but enter to check)
[HTC Magic] [32A] [NR] [6.35] ... -> is for 32A NewRadio (6.35)
[ROM][6.35] ... -> for version 32A NR
[ROM][32A][3.22] ... -> for version 32A old radio
[ROM][32b] ... -> for version 32B
[Rom][32a][32b][3.22][6.35] ... -> for both versions and for both radios
you got what you need?
32b myTouch 3g 2.2.1
Cyanogen Nightly 271
Hboot - 1.33.0006
Radio - 2.22.19.26i
Kernel - 2.6.35.9
