I have JF 1.5 Developer flashed onto my phone and have changed some images in the framework-res.apk
and i have noticed an issue with bluetooth where it will connect to my JVC hands free and i can dial number and awnser calls through it but the audio is still going through the handset.
It was working before i rooted my phone.
any ideas.
I think i may have found the issue, i didnt upgrade the radio when i flashed JF 1.5
Taken from HTC who JF got the developer build from
Each Android platform version is designed to run on top of a specifc version of the radio firmware. Typically, each successive release of the Android platform relies on a newer version of the radio firmware, so whenever you are planning to flash a new system image to your device, whether upgrade or downgrade, you should also update the radio firmware to the version expected by the platform. If you do not update your radio image, the system may encounter problems.

well updating the radio and flashing back to JF 1.5 has fixed the BT problem so it must have been something to do with the mods to the framework-res.apk or the android.policy.jar that screwed things up.

I have a xda to repair.
problem is that the radio stack upgrade failed.
i have installed the pcc2003 rom wich lets me boot into windows
(ppc2002 roms dont allow this. They seem to wait on the gsm to turn on)
now i could install the radio update. each update fails (latest series)
i know from way back that the older radio updates had a different radio update procedure. I also know i fixed a lot of radio update errors with the old update
where can i find old radio updates?
older then Radio_Unit_Upgrade_v31703.exe
Let me know if you find it, I need it also, I found the stack previous to 4.21 but it gets to 1% and fails.
have a look here
http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda/xda_ROM_Archive.htm
Radio_Stack_Upgrade_V416.exe.exe
i tried this one already
it is an older version, you have to press start to start the radio update
newer ones start directly
i think we still need a little older
Ok a little information...
My phone shipped with the Generic RC8 UK firmware, I followed the standard procedure to downgrade to RC7, root my device, install HardSPL, and then upgrade back to JesusFreke's RC8 mod, here is a little information about my procedures
Shipped with RC8 > Downgraded to RC7 > Rooted and installed HardSPL > Upgraded to JF 1.41 RC8 > Upgraded to JF 1.43 RC8 > Upgraded to JF 1.43 RC9
I have the original T-Mobile contract sim that the phone came with, and have made no alterations to the system settings, or data settings since I upgraded to RC9.
As far as I can tell the problem occurs both through Wifi (through my home connection) and when using Data over 3G. The problem is that for some applications that I have installed (So far it has happened to Voxmobili Phonebook, and Brain Genius Deluxe) when the market notifies me of an update, I tell it to install it, and it immediately proceeds to tell me that the download failed. Most applications seem to update correctly, but this error is still an annoyance to me as it could crop up again in the future.
Any ideas on what could be causing it, or any way I can gather some more info for troubleshooting?
Update: I have managed to update brain genius deluxe correctly, however the phoonebook app from voxmobili still refuses to update
i just got this phone, is there a radio image update available, and if so can i do it without rooting? id rather not root this phone and i dont remember if i updated my g1's radio before or after i rooted or whether it even mattered...thanks
I recently bought a used Verizon HTC Trophy. I registered it on Verizon and it works fine, both voice and data.
I suspect it may have been a developer phone. If it is I don't mind, but I do mind that I cannot update it using Zune. It keeps telling me that an Update is available (Mango), but when I try to update via Zune it fails with error 80180048.
The phone particulars are as follows:
OS version 7.0.7403.0
Firmware revision number 2305.06.10310.605
Hardware revision number 0003
Radio software version 1.52.00.01.16_23.13w.05.06U
Radio hardware version 3.2.3.D4
Bootloader version 1.3.230506.10
Chip SOC 2.3.0.5.6
The phone also has the following apps installed, which is why I think it may be a developer device.
zGestureBester
zSensorView
zServiceTools
zStartKIGL
Finally, when I turn the phone on it shows the bootloader version and the modem version in the uper left corner of the HTC splash screen.
I am wondering if the bootloader version (or firmware version) is keeping me from upgrading. I took a look around the internet and did not see any references to the .10 version of the bootloader, but I did see post which mentioned that the wrong bootloader can mess up Zune updates.
My preference would be to revert to a simple consumer phone, but at a minimum I'd at least like to be able to get the Mango and HTC radio updates onto the phone. Any suggestions would me much appreciated, and sorry for the noob post.
Thanks
Hello everyone,
Vendor:
As far as I know I will need to update my vendor.img whenever I flash a new ROM version (or else I will get the warning that my vendor version is too old).
This is the only thing I need to flash in combination with the ROM version? Everything else can be flashed in what ever version I want and whenever I want?
Radio:
There are several versions, one from beta, one with "verizon" written next to it and then another one without any "additional text".
As I am from Europe I guess that the "verizon" one won't work for me.
I am don't want to try the beta version either.
So I will keep the latest "uncommented" radio version?
Bootloader:
From how I understand it it will usually just have security & bug fixes and only is taking care of the boot process. It won't have any effect on the running system?
But latest is recommended as always and can be flashed whenever I want?
Thanks !

With the vendor image you do not need to flash it again every dirty or clean flash. You only need to flash a new version when the rom you are using updates to the latest security patch. This is because when you update your rom it doesn't affect the vendor partition. Go to wipe and advanced and you'll see that vendor is not there. That is because whatever you do with updating roms won't affect that partition. Updating roms will affect cache, dalvik/art cache, data and system.
With the radio, I would recommend using the most recent version that works for you. Use verizon only if your phone is from verizon or anything to do with verizon. My phone was from the google store so I don't use the verizon version.
With the bootloader it shouldn't have any possibility of having a bad affect like the radio could. It is recommended to update the bootloader every time there is an update available. Make sure with the radio and bootloader you fastboot flash via your computer.
Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions.
